No Spoilers!

Well, all you robots in disguise fans I have just returned from the Transformers screening at work... and holy crap!

I went into this movie with low expectations, because I didn't want to get disappointed. Nor do I really trust Micheal Bay and Steven Speilberg. I was going to hunt those two down and kill them if they messed with my Transformers! They may sleep assured this night.

Transformers is an action packed, metamorphisizing piece of ass kickery on the battle scenes kind of movie! Now, the storyline could have used a bit of work. They changed it around from the original, but no surprise there. It's a little on the simple, non-complicated side and things are not completely explained in some aspects but it was still good. The action scenes were unbelieveable (in a good way) and the attention to detail put into each of the Transformers was incredible. They looked like they were going to jump out of the screen and start fighting in the theatre. I was almost hoping my car would transform on the way home, sadly it didn't.

Fans of the series will most definitely see some familiar faces and enjoy some familiar lines easily recognized. Also, and the big one for those who don't know. The original voice of Optimus Prime. There is a surprising amount of humour in the movie that in no way detracts from it.

I give it, a three and a half out of five.

Now rejoice! And go see the freaking movie!

I'll probably wait until it comes out on a DVD.

Duro, this is a movie you need to see in the theatre. With the massive screen and the sounds and the explosions going off all around you. Not to mention Megatron jumping out at you going to rip your head off! Waaah!

Oh, yeah and by the way. I'm too good to post in another person's thread. You should know by now, I review in my own. ^_~

I notice, with a bit of sadness, that there is a 100% lackage of one Orson Welles.

Yes, I'm aware that he's dead, but you have to admit that he's bad-ass regardless.

I'd rather see Live Free or Die Hard. Oh, I did, and it kicked absolute ass.

I'll wait maybe a week to see Transformers, and go if I can remember.

My little sister wants to see it pretty badly.

I'll pass.

I was more of a Beast Wars fan myself. :o

Will probably see it on dvd. Ocean's 13 takes priority.

I saw Live Free or Die Hard. It did kick absolute ass. Very awesome movie.

Transformers topped it 50x over.

I saw it with 2400 other anime fans earlier today (just got home cuz my group was still going nuts over it and we gorged on Red Robin burgers and guy on girl wrestling afterwards XD) and I just can't believe how much effort was put into the movie. They did all they probably could to keep us fans from hating their creation and more! I know Witchblade gave it a three and a half out of five, but we all know she's a harsh judge. She'd probably tell God his master plan needs reworking. :p

Personally, I'm a Transformer fan. Not a die hard "I remember the date it first aired" fan, but I followed the cartoon and comics as a kid. One of the best movies out there for action and adventure. She's right about the story, was pretty good, some unexplained things, but everything fit into place well enough not to be a bother. And all you guys saying "I'll see it on DVD"....don't. Not until you've seen it in theaters. Won't be the same. It's like taking a perfectly seasoned filet mignon and tossing it in low grade steak sauce. You need A-1 for it to work. Not Sizzler's crappy brand. (Is that even really steak sauce?)

Seriously, it's a rush of a movie and I can't see anyone being let down from this cinematic adventure*. Oh, and Bumblebee for the win! :D

Ohh, Dane!

Thank you, Barbarian! I was starting to get realy worried here, all these people are posting around seeing it on DVD. What a waste! It's so good, it's what I'll be watching today at work all over again. And yes, I am a harsh judge and of course God needs to rework his master plan.

I think most people don't want to go see it at the theatre because they're expecting to be let down, but you're not going to be. Not unless you go in there assuming it's going to be exactly like the show, then you'll be disappointed because it's not. They did of course change some things about it, but it's still good!

By the way, sequel set up anyone? I'll be there for it!

Hahaha, no prob Witchblade.

Yea, some things were changed, but it happens. Usually its done to help new audiences relate/connect to the story...cuz...well, it was made quite a while ago, lol. They have to freshen it up every so often.

And yes! Sequel!!!!

How did you see your screening early Witchy?

Well, for starters I work at the theatre as a projectionist and made up the Transformers print. :p But, we usually have screenings of big movies like that the day before they open and there was no way in hell I was going to miss it!

Surprising to Letho that I won't be masturbating another blockbuster, but Transformers was regretfully not what I wanted it to be. And that's just sad, because I wasn't expecting much. I'll admit I never really liked Transformers, too young to remember the campy 80s and annoyed by all (except Beast wars) attempts to bring it back.

The cast of humans was too large, and I felt that the movie was confused (not confusing.) There were a few plot holes and an ending predicted by my friend next to me. The action was redeeming, but there wasn't enough of it to really wet my appetite. The love story, again, was cliche, and I felt that they added an unneeded layer of "thickening to it."

However, I saw the movie for free because I had friends in the theater staff, so it wasn't bad for a free movie. There are indeed jokes that will annoy, but many more will make you laugh aloud.

Overall, I thought it was meh. The type of movie I'd watch on TNT in a few years.

SPOILER:

(Of course we all know what happens to the black robot.)

Lucien beat me to it.

I paid four meals worth of money to see it (and that's the price at the cheapest interval - other times, it costs me 6-meals worth or more) and it was... OK.

The story was a little let-down but the action was good. Actually reminded me of that transforming car commercial a while back, even though that was supposed to reference the Transformers movie. Megatron sounded so overused... but there were much humor to the many scenes.

I give it 7 out of 10, but only because I watched it in Soundtrack. I'd probably give it 4 if it was the dubbed version. :p
