I just got home from a hostage situation. I wasn't actually involved; the one road leading out of my girlfriend's neighborhood got closed down and the police made me turn my car off, so I couldn't go back to her place.

It was pretty crazy at first. An armed robbery took place at a gas station nearby and a high speed chase winded up in the neighborhood. There were police helicopters flying around really low, SWAT and police officers running around with sniper rifles. The armed robber ran into some house, holding a mother, father, and 18 month old baby hostage.

Anyone who has ever sat through one of these kind of events knows that any excitement, nervousness, or fear slowly dwindles over time. One starts to notice mosquitoes all over the place, and upon getting home, finding at least 40 bites on one arm alone. Then, of course, when rolling up the windows to avoid the insects, you start to run out of oxygen and it gets really hot because you aren't allowed to turn on the car even for AC, so you have to roll them back down. Naturally, it starts to pour down rain as soon as the windows are down, and the mosquitoes find shelter in the dryer parts of the vehicle, continuously feasting upon my exposed skin, crawling up my shirt. Eventually, I succumbed to climbing into my back seat and falling into broken bits of sleep for the last hour and a half of the four hour sit in.

The reason for this post? A point to it all? Nope. I'm just ranting to get it all out of my head so that I can get a good night of 3 hours of sleep before getting up for class and right after, work.

Just to ease anyone's troubled mind about the event, no one was hurt during the event, that I know of. Otherwise I wouldn't be so selfish in my thoughts.

So does anyone have any crazy stories they want to unload? Send them them here. Good night all.

Wow, that is certainly a story to remember.

;)

Ehh~ I'll see what kind of stories I can scrounge up during my living years. :p

ha ha, yeah. I feel bad for complaining about it now; there were much worse off people than me last night. At least I got 5 hours of sleep instead of three. :D
