View Full Version : Would You Participate in a Tournament of Legends II?

Some of you may have heard of the Tournament of Legends that's been running at GUA this past year - the original advertisement posted for it on Althanas can be found here (http://althanas.com/world/showthread.php?p=39904&highlight=Tournament+Legends#post39904).

So the question is - would you participate in the second Tournament of Legends, a one-on-one affair, if given the chance, and were it to be operated under Althanas rules (including EXP/GP awards) or something extremely close to them? Why or why not?

For those wondering, it would be essentially be Serenti for this year, only held in a different Althanas region.

It's essentially a one-on-one battle tournament.

Not sure if I'd join again, but it does sound interesting. But I wonder,do outsiders need to make a character sheet, get it approved and enter the tournament at level 0, while veteran Althanians enter with their level ones or, y'know, twelves? Or would everyone be required to create a new character at a specific level, let's say, five?

Of course, I guess levels wouldn't really matter when it comes to the scores, but I'm guessing some roleplayers would want an IC chance at winning too.

As long as we're getting standard EXP for our writing, I'd be up for that. It would be cool to fight some new people.

I think we should have a registration forum separate for the ToL with a certain power level accepted. Perhaps allowing people to just make a character roughly level 10 on Althanas. If thats the case, I think alot of people would be able to participate.

I personally hated the way it was run, the partipants, and the way it was modded. If we could bring the chaos under control then I'd at least watch... but I'd never participate against people from other forums. I don't rp on their forums because they're rude and annoying, why would I want to on my own forum?

I think he said what I was thinking. I didn't join the ToL but I watched it and didn't like what I saw, so I won't participate.

Tournaments are fun. Especially on Althanas. Give the opportunity, I'd join.

That, and we'd just do a much better job logistically. :)

I participated in the first one, my partner was Slayer of the rot. I was excited about it at first, but then I realized the whole thing was really badly managed. It was full of immature people, moderators who had no idea what they were doing and constant bickering and fighting. I didn't get too far in it, because Slayer ended up having some real life issues, but I'm glad about that because it was a waste of my time. So, no, I wouldn't participate in another one. Besides, if it's just like Serenti, why not host Serenti then?

Was in it, hated the OOC part of it more than the IC part was intriguing, would never again.

The only GOOD part of that tournament was that I came here.

From the sound of things, I don't think it would be very much fun. Our tournies never really end to well.

I'd be in it for sure. I wish I would have been able to do the GUA one, OOC problems with it or not.

If it got Karuka here then we might be able to find some other good players there, but there are certain greats on this site that I would like to write with before they occupy their time somewhere else.

There will be problems with flamers, spamming and other such nonsense. How are mods expected to judge threads and handle that junk?
