Hello~ Treasure-Hunters of Althanas! This is your local gadgeteer speaking, Mikami Reina of Akashima!

As you may have remembered, I started a quest a long ways back along with Mr. Perchik Dayas and Mr. Jared.

Well~ Apparently that story died a horrible and irreversible death. *Gasp!* Can't blame the involved parties since we still haven't gotten anywhere. *Sniff*

Either way, The quest series are back up again! Open to registration for all interested parties! The catch? You have to be looking forward to seeing this through, come hell or high water! (Well, just high water. I really don't want to make you guys go through hell, now would I?)

Theme: Treasure-Hunting

Locale: Somewhere mysterious... All over the known regions of Althanas! Mayhaps even farther off the map?

Overview:

I need to gather a few materials needed to create my own inventions (nothing extremely dangerous, mind you, because even I have limits) and in need of a few artifacts from the old age. I have recently discovered several old maps in Uncle Hajime's workshop marked with writing and travelling routes. From what I can see, it is mostly about Alerar but there are also maps of other places I'm not too familiar with. Well, then again, I haven't been travelling far from home much anyways. T^T

So! This will be a multi-quest, in essence, but I'll be doing this one part at a time.

First Quest: Forgotten Gears Episode I - Raiders of the Black Spire (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?p=74230#post74230)

This little expedition will take us to the fabled Obsidian Spire - Marked by the Raiaeran as Off-Limits to anyone and everyone, this tower was rumored to hold vast treasures and artifacts from the War of the Tap. Now, according to some writings left by my uncle Higurashi Hajime (the famous Akashiman Smith of the System), there were rumors that there's even an elaborate research in advanced technology! Well, rumors of it, anyways.

So~ I'll be heading out to Raiaera and sneak around the place, looking for the so-called Research of Advanced Technology amongst the rumored stash of magical artifacts. Those stuff, I could care less of. I want tech items!

And I'll need some hired help to get me there, in and out alive. So far, the received applicants are...

1. Perchik Dayas (IBB)

2. Xos Xilanthes (Xos)

As a side-note, good-looking guys are much welcomed. Knowledge and the capabilities to play with fire (figuratively and literally) are a great bonus, as I heard that the beasts of the Red Forest are afraid of fire.

Second Quest: Forgotten Gears Episode II - Secrets of the Dark Empire

Here, I found another strange piece of canvas with Uncle Hajime's writing on them. The destination: Alerar. Of course, we had heard many times about their famous Steam Engine and Airships... but have we ever seen how they really work? In this adventure, I will need to bring along a group of sneaky people - someone with good eye and keen ears - who can get me into one of the Aleran Steam Factories so I can see how they create these magnificent machines. In the piece of canvas, Uncle Hajime stated that the technology was so profound and revolutionary it could change the face of Akashima life! And I will be the first to harness in that country!

Current participants are...

1. Maia Kristel (Maia)

2. ((Open))

And~ Next one!

Third Quest: Forgotten Gears Episode III - Legends of the Salvic War God

For this one, we will be taking a long hike north to Salvar - the frigid land of perpetual ice and snow. According to notes written by Uncle Hajime, there existed a small enclave who were said to worship a "War God" with skins of steel and wrath of flames. Now, what had steel skin and fiery breath? ...A Steel Golem?! Or a gigantic mechanical warmachine?! That, we are going to find out sooner or later.

Participants for this quest, so far, are...

1. Leon Timyon (Artifex Felicis)

2. ((Open))

Someone who knows the lay of the land as well as being able to speak Salvic would be really nice! There will be ample opportunities to speak with the locals, so you better have good people skills! Also, extra knowledge in Salvic Lore is a great plus!

And~ The last for now.

Fourth Quest: Forgotten Gears Episode IV - Hunting in the Midnight Moon

Yes, we are headed to Fallien! I don't know if the Siege of Irakkam would be over by the time this quest came around or not, but we are definitely going to be in need of a lot of sun-screen. Here, we will be trekking the high dunes and along the great river, but we are not going all the way to the Jya's Keep. Our destination is somewhere out there in the sands - a giant maze underground made by the legendary Karuku-Tal! Yikes! Yes... we are going to have to face them... one way or another. Uncle Hajime said that there's supposed to be some magnificent relic in there that's got so much power! I don't really know what it is, so we'll only know when we get it! ...Fufufu... and then my plan will be complete...

...Ahem. So! I'll be in need of good fighters with long reach! And probably a mage who can keep the smaller ones at bay long enough for us to stay safe. The larger ones... Well~ I guess we'll just have to fend them off... Somehow.

Participants!

1. ((Open))

2. ((Open))

And~ That's about it for the Forgotten Gears series! Hired Swords and Treasure-Hunters of Althanas, Unite!

Oh! And what about the rewards, you say? Well... *counts her meager stash of gold* ...I know! How about... You get to keep anything we come across in our adventures! Be they hoards of gold, enchanted rings of immortality, or even a blade of unspeakable power! Your call! Of course, we have to find if and finish the story first. Sounds good enough, ladies and gents?

So line up, front and center! This will not be a "First Come, First Serve" deal so you must be prepared to see this through! And not to worry - I have the story all planned out... ...I think.

I would be honored to have a chance to quest with you again, milady. :)

I think I'll stick with the first one. Hopefully it'll go better this time around. :p

Alright~! Thank you for sticking around when everyone's run off, Mr. Dayas!

*Adds your name to the list*

So! One more spot open for the first quest! Prefereably someone who knows pyromancy or carries a large torch. :p

I would be intrested in going with you on all Quests. Machinery and science quests are things right up Xos's alley. He's been itching to research Althanas and find things out. These quests would help him out remarkably well. Also, he can use fire.

Edit: Sorry, this is not The Xos account, xos is my other account and he has yet to go on any quests.

Alright! And we have a full house!

Forgotten Gears Episode I - Raiders of the Dark Spire is officially filled!

Also, the thead is up! Link's in the main post for easy access.

Alright, peeps. Time to raid the Obsidian Spire!

EDIT: As for Episode II, the line is open and accepting participants! Put in your voice now and be heard before some other people! Entrance is still on criteria and not "First Come, First Serve." However, if I find someone who meets the criteria before you post here, too bad. :p

Count me in for thread 2 as well.

Eya~! Sorry this took too long to write a reply! Master Raven's stuck with his Midterms (and me stuck in his body) so there wasn't much time for him to find and write it out.

However, we are one step closer to getting there!

Oh, and a note to Mister Xos - I would appreciate your posts have a bit more detail with regards to interaction with your surrounding. The posts from you so far were very... spartan. Perhaps a bit more Athenian approach would suffice. :p

And~ Advertisement! Slots for Episode II are still open! If you're interested in taking part, put your name down now! :D

I might be useful in the second mission.

Boo. How come this mission list isn't getting much attention? Maybe because it's so far in the future? Oh, well~

Anyways, each of your next posts should be about the end of the day. If possible, try to incorporate as much literary suspense into your posts as much as possible... Well, not to the point that it derails the story, anyways, or I'll have to ask you to edit them.

Also, Mr. Xos. I'd like a bit more character and "feel" in your posts, please~ I know it may seem a lot, but it should help to create more story on your part. Thank you~

OK~ I see some good potential questers!

I've got Master Raven to take down your contact, Mister Sifer. As for Mister Atumal, can you send me a PM with your IM contact? Preferably MSN Messenger, if possible.

I've had some talk with Mister Leon and Maia will be joining us for sure. And Leon for the Salvar Mission.

As for mister Xos... Well, we'll see about that. :)

OK! List will be updated!

*Wipes away the cobwebs*

Hmm... Either interest had died for this quest series or the people involved had...

*Sneezes from the dust*

Gyah. Well... Anyways, I think it's safe to say this quest series is back up and open. The first thread went... well, somewhere, but nowhere far. I'll let Mikami handle the applications, but this is just a reminder for interested parties to know that this...

Well, not really dead. Yet.

Ach-choo!
