This is my very first try at this, so I hope I'll do okay...

Seagulls were hovering over the docks, their eyes on the activity of local fishermen. From the horizon a ship approached. At first glance it seemed very small but by the time it docked, it was quite a large vessel. “The Crazy Lady”, it was called. Some of the ships crew threw some ropes to the dockworkers in order for them to secure the ship. After a small bridge between the ship and the dock was placed, a young woman disembarked, assisted by a richly dressed man who took her hand to guide her ashore.

“Thank you very much.”The young lady smiled and curtsied as she turned to the man who helped her. “It was a pleasure to have had you aboard the ship, m’lady.” He responded, nodding his head, “I pray you will be safe on the rest of your journey and hope that you will find what you are looking for.” He added.

“I’ll be sure to remember those kind words, mr. Reene.”
“Please, just call me Jonas. I’d hate to be a remembered as a man of formalities.”
The young woman chuckled politely, giving a slight nod, “Very well, Jonas. I wish you all the best, may you stay in good health, wherever you go.”
“Aye, thank you m’lady.”
“Please; Teefa.”
“Lady Teefa, I bid you farewell now.” The man took a deep bow and gently kissed the back of Teefa’s hand. After getting back on the ship, he yelled something to the rest of the crew. The small wooden plank that was serving as a the small bridge was raised and the ropes were loosened again. The ship then left the docks.

Waving after the ship and taking her time to see it sail off into the distance, Teefa turned around to take in the scenery. The docks were bustling with activity, as she expected. There sure were a lot of fishermen and sailors running around everywhere. She smiled and walked around a bit to see what everyone was doing. An old man was slouched up against the wall of a tavern, an empty bottle in his hand, cheeks rosy. Apparently he had been drinking all day long and was now beginning to sober up. He waved at Teefa, “Heyy thae’re prretty”. She waved back and walked towards the old man, crouching down as she got close enough.

“Hi there, how are you?” she asked, giving the old man a kind smile. “Are you having a nice day?”
“Oooh, ye sure is nice, I di’ nea expect a prwetty lady such as ye would talk to ‘ol me.” The man straightened himself against the wall. His eyebrows were thick and grey so it was easy to see he raised one in his surprise of a woman talking back to him. “Whatcha name, lass?”, he asked.
“My name is Teefa, sir.”
“Teefa ey? Ne’er seen ye here before. Are ye a trav’ler?”
Thinking for a moment, Teefa nodded “Yes, I am.”
“An’ what brings ye to Scara Brae?” The old man tilted his head sideways, raising his eyebrows to get a better look.
“No reason in particular”, she responded, “well, maybe to find some temporary place to work.”
“Aye, I see. Well, there be plenty ‘o work around ‘ere.” The man laughed to himself briefly but then started to doze off.
“Sir?”

Teefa waved her hand before the old man’s face but realized he had fallen asleep. She giggled to herself and seemed happy she was able to make the first contact with one of the locals. She straightened herself, bowed to the sleeping old man and continued her stroll. After some time she decided to take a seat on a small wooden bench. ‘oh, that’s right, I need to find a place to stay for tonight’, she thought to herself, ‘tomorrow, I will decide what to do next.’

The sun had begun to sink into the sea and Teefa took a deep breath while looking at the beautiful colors of the sunset.

The merchant vessel had decided to tie itself in overnight at the docks in order to do what they were supposed to do! Buy and sell! Unfortunately for Koukai, activity on the boat never did seem to die down through the day as wares were loaded and offloaded, customers came on board, or dockworkers just started lounging around. Eventually at sunset, the steady flood of buyers and sellers had finall dispersed for where ever it was they lived in this harbo-side city. The dockworkers had moved on to other boats that were paying for their assitance and the crew was off parading around in the city, buying as much alcohol, food and company as they could afford.

Peeking out from an empty barrel, Koukai only spotted about three people, and they were all busy talking to each other about giant squids eating babies or something around those lines. Taking his chances he pulled himself out of the barrel slowly, pushing off of the edges before sliding over it's side. Quietly his black boots made a tiny thud on the wooden planks, an inaudible noise thanks to the constant gulls and waves. A few more steps were taken when something hard jerked on his cloak. With a panicked look his hands went into a pouch and his mace handle.

Seeing what it was he let out a slight sigh of relief. He was about to attack a barrel because his coat had gotten stuck in a wedge. A slight raised tug and the cloth was free and he was stalking across the container-littered deck. The trio were still talking, he could here them clearly now. They were talking about selling squid and one of them had a new child at home. Unfortunately, the steps off were right next to the merchants. That made things a little more difficult. Reaching into his pocket he pulled out a bal-sized clay sphere with a single rune on it. He only had four more, he y needed to save them...but with this he could make a suitable distraction and haul ass off.

With a smooth motion he rolled the ball down the length of the ship, the alleyway made by the boxes and such was meant for a walking path but now it simply turned it into a bowling alley with bumpers. It came to a rest near the front of the ship, it was especially helped because the current was rocking the boat so as to raise the end.

Placing his hands together in the correct gesture he quietly uttered, "Shou!" He was rewarded by a loud "bang" and the sounds of wood being splintered as a poof of smoke came up where the sphere had been a few moments ago. The three men cried out in alarm as they raced over to the smoke to try and find out what had just happened. All they'd find would be a chunk of wood got blown into toothpicks and the surrounding wood had been scortched. Not much more. However more importantly to Koukai was the ladder. He had started to get moving the moment the bang went off. He wasn't running so as to announce his presence but he was well off the boat by the time the merchants were looking around for a cause.

As he was leaving the harbor area, he noticed a fair-looking lady sitting on a bench by herself. She appeared well-to-do, but wasn't surrounded by the constant flock of yes-men and other useless retainers most of the higher-ups had. Odd. As he passed in front her, Koukai gave a sllight smile and nodded. Thereby of course not noticing the slightly uneven cobblestones which promptly cause his foot to get caught on the rock and make him pitch forward into the ground in a slightwhirld wind of his forest-green cloak and curses on the streets Mother, who was just called a "whore"...

OOC: Yay for muh crappy intro! =D

(I hope I'm not interrupting the plot)

Rust looked up, examining the bright skies of Scara Brae. Only small dots of birds interrupted the blue width, flying back and forth in search after some food. His silent figure not moved since he had hired the services of a small fishermen ship. Only Philip's head sometimes observed the horizon. The few last hours he sat without producing a sound and listened to the cheerful conversation of his temporal companions. It was a great day of hunting for those simple men and their fortune filled their hearts with happiness.

As usual he was at mission, although it was a very unusual mission. He was hired to accompany a special package through the land. A very important package which content he wasn't familiar with. As true professional, Rust had no unneeded questions when he was asked to deliver the thing. By the heavy money purse he received, Rust could only guess how important whatever is inside the box. The mysterious costumer promised him even a bigger sum after he'll deliver the package. Such a promise made the assassin to raise an eyebrow. Yet he remained silent, only nodding. Of course he was tempted to check the package but after some thought decided it'll be a very bad idea.

When the small ship reached its destination, Philip paid the fishermen and departed them without providing much information about himself. He sighed tiredly and walked through Scara Brae's dock, trying to locate anything that may be useful for him. All he could find were suspisful stares of local men. Part of them sorted the caught fish, the other part carried heavy barrels full with apples or wine and some just were drunk and bored. Those who had nothing better to do then empty big wine bottles stared at the cloaked stranger, tempted to follow Rust just out of boredom. If they thought they can amuse themselves at Philip's account they were wrong. A better look at his dark figure killed any will to reply mockingly at his ways.

Philip's eyes slid upon their frowned faces. Their confusion and hidden fear caused him to grin widely. He wasn't very muscular or tall but something about him made many of his companions to be careful around this man. None dared to threat him or even thought of stealing a piece of bread from this dangerous person. Still grinning to himself, Philip took down the cloak, exposing his white hair and piercing, dark eyes. Right now he just tried to find a place to spend the nearest night at, tired and slightly hungry.

Staring at the horizon, Teefa’s thoughts began to wander, thinking back of all the things that have happened so far on her long and aimless journey. A slight smile appeared on her lips when a good memory played in her mind. She was reliving the moment, so it seemed. Suddenly, she snapped back to reality when a young man passed in front of her. He smiled and nodded at her. Just as Teefa wanted to wave back at him, he tripped and landed on the ground in an awkward way. Teefa gasped briefly but the young man quickly recovered himself back to his feet and uttered some cursing words.

Blinking her eyes briefly, Teefa looked as the young man dusted off his clothes with a few swipes of the back of his hand. After quickly getting up from the little bench, she stepped towards him, her hands pressed against her chest, a worried look on her face.

“A-are you alright?”

That could've gone worse. One of the balls could've gone off somehow and blown a nice chunk out of my side...

When he stood up, groaning at the new aches and pains he had in addition to those from being in the cramped barrel for far to long. A few brushes with his hands and any dirt was gone, sadly seeing as this was dock-side there's a lot of mud. And there's now a lot of mud on the knees of his black pants and most of his cloak. He muttered to himself about the cheap roadwork being done in Brae and something nearly inaudible about how a revolution might change that...

"Me? I'm alright. so long as I don't whack my knees into something I shouldn't even notice it..."

It wasn't himself he was worried about either. His hands loosened the tie around a brown bag that was attached to his belt and he reached it, feeling around the bag and mentally taking stock. When he pulled his hand out, it was holding the broken remains of a clay sphere. The stupid thing had been crushed in the fall! It probably got smacked up by the mace or something.

He took the remains of the former explosive and stuff it into a different bag, also tied to his hip, made of a white-cloth. The clay could be made usable again, no need to throw it away. Even still though, now he was down to just till until he got a chance to work away for a little while.

The person who was on the bench seemed earnest in concern, but then again anybody could if given enough time to practice it. What proof did he have that she was a hidden enemy though? It was right to be cautious, but not paranoid. That would wind up leading down the same road the Corone government had, which was what Mr. Wiggles had taught them not to do. It was odd though, being out here all by herself in such a place at such a time as this, so he couldn't help but ask.

"And what about you, being out here alone like this?"

OOC: I still have to get used to things (especially interacting with others) so forgive me if the things I put up seem a little short. If you have suggestions or feedback, I wouldn't mind hearing it ^^

Observing the young man, he didn’t seem hurt –much to Teefa’s relief. He replied to her that he was fine and began to inspect the contents of a brown belt that he was carrying on his belt. As he was busy rummaging through the bag and muttering to himself, Teefa took a good look at him. He was a bit taller than she was. His face had young and handsome features. She figured he was about her age.

After examining the contents of the brown bag, he took some of its contents and put it into another bag; a white one. Although not exactly sure what the purpose of the little ‘exchange’ was, she didn’t pay further heed to it. After he was done, the young man turned to her and eyed her over, pondering for brief moment before asking: "And what about you, being out here alone like this?"

“Me? I- Um… Well, I was just watching the lovely sunset and...” Teefa paused for a moment, “I guess I was just caught in a daydream so much that I didn’t notice the sun had already fallen into twilight.” She chuckled, slightly emberrassed. “I just arrived here, and since I am travelling all by myself would explain as to why I am alone.”

She looked around as if she was looking for something.
“Ah… perhaps you would know of a good place for me to spend the night?” She smiled at the young man.

OOC: When it goes beyond lengths they're at about now my attention span tends to drift and I end up skimming. It just seems ridiculous to put in pointless crap just to make it longer. Like I've been doing! XD

My best recommendation would be to give me all your gold. Yep. That'd help! >_>

IC: She seems a little air headed to be traveling by herself...maybe she still retains that spark of innocence...whatever.

"Well I wouldn't honestly know. Usually too busy to watch the sunset."

It was getting dark out fairly quickly, in less than thirty minutes the sun would more than likely be completely gone. Already the streets were adapting to night life. The normal hustling and bustling was replaced by small crowds on the sidewalks of people looking for merriment inside of the various establishments that were along the harbor. The cold streets were lit up with the orange-glow from candles and fires inside of the houses, providing fairly decent illumination despite being from an unorthodox source.

"As for a place to stay. My total time being here has included walking down a dock and tripping over these stones. So your guess is better than mine...but guessing from the time of day, good luck trying to find a 'good' place now."

Philip scanned the dock for someone more or less reasonable to talk with. The only two people he could locate were a young, pretty girl and a long haired, blonde guy near her. Both of them seemed to be new around, confused and lost even more then he was. He wondered if they were companions or just met. If the girl traveled by herself she was or very stupid or very dangerous. Usually women who hanged around by themselves ended badly. The rest of local inhabitants were or drunk or clearly looked like they'll cut your throat for piece of gold.

Rust stood there, staring at the talking duo in time his mind considered his current options. He could to search for a place to spend his night at or to join the newcomers, pretending to be lost. Each of the possible future actions had its advantages and disadvantages. Making friends with the two adventures could help him in the future but they could stay at his way too. Well if it happens he'll always be able or to kill them or to flee. Staying alone will leave him free to act as he'll wish but a lonely man like him may look suspicious in eyes of others. Especially if he is followed by quiet spies as he suspected for some time.

Finally he has decided to stick with the weird pair for a while, as long as it'll serve his plans. Rust's expression changed, achieving a softer shade of tiredness. No more he looked like a tough criminal but gave out a sincere impression of a very tired voyager who trying to find rest. He still was recognizable as a fighter but as a gentle version of his true self.

Approaching Teefa and Koutai he bowed slowly in front of the young woman, sending a friendly, short nod at Koutai a few moments later. "Good evening. My name is Ashton and it appears to me that all of us are new here. That's why I was rude enough to disturb your conversation. It was a long journey and I hope that three of us will be able to find any shelter for the night faster than each of us by his own powers." He lied calmly, his voice and eyes are soft and quiet. Giving the horizon a swift stare he continued "If I'm right a storm will howl here pretty soon. Those who'll have to stay outside when the moon rises will be very unfortunate."

Well then let’s do this shiznitz!! I’m MaxBlade nice to meet you guys I’ll be your tour-guide for today and I hope you enjoy your stay at the Washington Memorial….yeah I’m never going on that trip again.

Two humans and a half-elf, not even worth his time usually, what made Fareron stop this time though would always be a mystery in the minds of other Genasi. He had been flying all that day; he was out of work for a while but had money, at least enough to get him through three days at the most. He had been in two fights during that time, one with a band of robbers, because he had landed, and they had thought he was a giant bird falling from the sky, so they had decided to kill him…yeah, that was a big mistake. Humans never messed with ones of the higher planes. Especially not the Air Genasi, then, he had met another Genasi, while flying, an evil one but the battle didn’t last long, for the Genasi was only a child, and had wanted to cause trouble. “Move along, ya little fagot!” Fareron had shouted in his weird accent. His hair blowing in the wind, as his fist were balled tight, his staff in hand to ward off the boy again just in case he decided to be cocky and come back.

Fareron smiled, that’s how he had been when he was first becoming an Air Genasi, even though this little child seemed pure bread. Fareron was not pure bred, he happened to be human bred, and had become an Air Genasi from his Magic Studies. Because of this, his teacher and he himself was looked down upon. He didn’t really care though; it was enough to be able to fly! Something man has wanted to do (and something that no man can do still without magic) since they had seen a bird in the sky! As he reminisced about his studies, he had lost concentration and had slowly started to fall. Not at a fast pace, because Air Genasi were a part of the wind, so there was no way to fall at a fast pace. He was falling at the rate of a feather almost, except he wasn’t drifting back and forth. As he passed through the clouds though, his clothes became soaked, his skin clammy because of the water held inside the cloud. He hated it when that happened, because he couldn’t see, luckily, he had no need to breath, (I have explained, he is part of the air, so breathing was not something he had to do) otherwise he would have suffocated inside the nimbus. As he came out though, he remembered where he was and that the world didn’t consist of just the sky. Scara Brae! the city where he had started off…well no he didn’t start off there. He started off in Corone to be exact, but it was the place where most adventurers started off, and the place where he had met some interesting figures including a dwarf…what was his name again? No matter, Fareron couldn’t remember and it wasn’t important.

His attention was diverted though as he saw three figures below him huddled up together talking in a friendly manner. Fareron smiled, he loved to surprise humans, and it would be all the greater because it was close to night time and they hadn’t found a place to sleep! It was dangerous if you didn’t find a place to sleep if you didn’t know how to defend yourself, oh yes, he would scare them good. Did he care if one of them had a traumatic break down and couldn’t move? No not really, he was so bored that one day he had found himself staring at his shit in the toilet just for the heck of it.

His eyes turned yellow, as his brained turned round, developing a plan. His hands raised over his head his hair flying in the wind that started to spin round him. Faster and faster, it was a small hurricane, and he was in the center, so he was the eye of the hurricane. The clouds had lightning flash through them and thunder rumble overhead. He smiled for he knew how to amplify his voice out of the storm and scare the daylights out of people. So he did just that.

“You Mortals there on the ground…Arm yourselves now!!! You have not found a place to stay for the night, so now the wrath of…” Fareron couldn’t think of a name. “The wrath of Gillybook will descend upon you.” Fareron quietly chuckled to himself, he couldn’t wait to see them squirming on the ground. He peeked his head a little farther out of the little raging hurricane, dust was now swirling around out there and rocks had flown up and broke some of the shop windows. He didn’t want to cause any damages, what the heck, they would never find out what broke them anyway. The sound was great, just the right mix of lightning, thunder, and wind. He looked a little to far though, big mistake! He lost control of the storm, it started to slowly diminish and he wasn’t concentrating on flying, though Air Genasi usually moved slowly and gracefully, given the right amount of force (the force was the storm), gravity would still do it work.

“Ayah!” he shouted out loud as he fell towards the people right at there feet on his knees. Never in his life had been so humiliated. He jumped straight and spoke, keeping his hat down over his eyes so that they wouldn’t see his face. His white robes that surrounded were all ruffled, and his white “Robin Hood” hat though it was larger, at a crooked angel. “Hi?”

This thread has been sitting for a full year. Since no response has been made to create activity I am going to be moving this. If you would like it to be reopened please feel free to PM myself or another staff member and they will be able to move it for you back to Scara Brae.
