I've been curious lately as to who is a fan of films written(Written and directed/acted) by Quentin Tarantino. I mean, we all know the three famous movies.

-Reservoir Dogs
-Pulp Fiction
-Kill Bill, 1 and 2.

Of course, he's also done the very recent Grindhouse, along with a blaxploitation film whose name escapes me now. (of course he also wrote From Dusk till Dawn, and played a lead role in it.)

Now, there are few directors with so many recognizable trademarks as Tarantino, from Mexican standoffs to his obvious foot fetish.

So I'm curious. What do you think of the man and his films. Criticism is encouraged, but Tarantino doesn't look like a bitch, so don't fuck him like one.

You're probably thinking of Jackie Brown, if I know you. And I'm pretty sure it's Tarantino.

I've been a Tarantino fan since I started seeing his name. Pulp Fiction is one of my all-around favorites.

And I know Grindhouse was widely criticised but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The movie "advertisements" made me laugh in a way I don't very often.

His cameos in most of his movies are a selling point for me too. Say he's full of himself, but he's really carved his name into the roster.

I've only seen Kill Bill, but those were two movies I thoroughly enjoyed. I've been meaning to pick up Pulp Fiction, but I haven't due to the fact that I still have a stack of 10 or so movies that I bought but haven't seen yet.

I, for one, am not a fan of the Kill Bill movies. I think Tarantino overdid it in those movies a little bit, trying to make them look "too cool" or something. I don't know. I just didn't buy the whole "vengeful-bitch-killing-everybody-with-a-sword" story. However, I'm a huge fan of his other movies. Of those that weren't mentioned in this thread yet, the Four Rooms is pretty damn awesome and Hostel wasn't bad either. Haven't seen Grindhouse yet, but I can't wait to see it.

^Actually, that's what made me enjoy the Kill Bill movies. It was so over the top and unbelievable, it reminded me of a live-action video game or something.

Four Rooms is by far my favorite Tarantino flick. And of course, Tarantino is my favorite director/writer. He's got some of the best dark comedies there is. Lines like "Oh man.. I just shot Marvin in the face!" crack me up. His cameos are always great too. Jimmie, in Pulp fiction was one of his best, in my opinion. "You know why you didn't see that sign?" >.>

He's great at picking actors, even if he does recycle them.. Buscemi was the perfect Mr. Pink. Roth is great in every movie Q puts him in.

Kill Bill wasn't my favorite. It was good for a movie, but less than fantastic for being a Tarantino movie. The whole name thing was ridiculous. Zomg! What's her name! And then it turns out to be Beatrice of all things?
