View Full Version : Sweet Dreams Are Made Of...
Dreams. We all have them, some good, some bad. Are there any dreams that you've had lately that stick out for some reason, and that you don't mind sharing? What's the craziest dream you've ever had? The scariest? The happiest?
Recent dream: My mom bitching at me.
Craziest: Eating chocolate after a play practice during which I'd kissed a friend that was currently IRL dating another friend...
Scariest: Godzilla. twice. I ran straight into the fire. Also there was the one where I was being chased by a demon, and another one where I was getting shot at. Crazy, scary dreams.
Happiest...I dunno, probably the other time I had dream chocolate. that stuff is AWESOME.

...these. who am i to disagree? travel the world and the seven seas. everybody is looking for something...
Recent: i dreamed that some crazy bird-hating dictator made us kill our birds and I found my sister's cockatiel in the bottom of a trash bag. I think that in my dream I was coming back from work or something. Whatever the case, I wasn't home when the birds were killed, so it came as a surprise to me. Dude, it freaked me out so bad, I had to go upstairs and see my birds sleeping in their cages before I could get back to sleep. Even then I had a hard time cause I couldn't get that image of my bird dead, in the bottom of a trash bag, out of my head.
Scariest: 2 dreams come to mind, both involve vehicles. In one I'm making a left turn off the highway (with a green arrow) and get hit by a Dodge Ram. In the other, I'm run off the road while riding my motorcycle by a dark green sports car.
Craziest: At the time, I would have judged these to be the scariest (i was like 5 when I had these) but anyway. When I was little, I snuck out of my room to see the movie that mom and dad were watching without my sister and me. That was a big mistake, that night I dreamed I was being eaten by a giant alligator. Another time, I dreamed that millions of skeletal hands were coming to get me and they all came out of the top corner of my room. I was convinced the next morning that the hands were responsible for my messed up bedsheets. For both these, I will unashamedly admit that I ran screaming to my mommy and daddy's room and spent the rest of those nights with them. ^_^
Happiest: this is gonna sound corny, but I dreamed one time that I was in bed sleeping and near me was a baby bassinet in which my infant daughter was also asleep. In the middle of the night, my husband comes home early from some kind of business trip and figured that he would surprise me by being there beside me when I wake up. Unfortunately, he accidentally bumped the baby's bassinet and woke her up. She started to cry and he of course picked her up trying to soother her. At the point my dream self wakes up to see what the baby is crying about, sees that my husband is already taking care of it, and promptly rolls over and goes back to sleep. and there the dream ended. corny i know...but definitely my happiest dream so far. ^__^

Oh, this is gonna be sweeeeeet. I have the weirdest dreams sometimes.
Craziest: In this one dream, for some reason, Russian terrorists fired a missile at my house. I distinctly remember frantically packing to get out of the house, but we weren't in time. When the missile arrived, though, it missed completely and hit the big road behind the house.
Or would it be...
Craziest: My house at night. Through the living room window, I could see this blue woman (I think she was kind of like a Twi'lek) walking down the street, and for each house she passed, she sucked out the power and killed everyone inside. So I hid in the closet in my room and don't really know what happened because the dream ended.
Another Craziest: In the middle of the night, I woke up to find this robed guy standing in my living room and talking with a T. Rex standing on my front lawn. Mind you, the entire front of the house was completely gone. When they noticed me, the T. Rex started spitting fireballs at me and I woke up.
...yeah, I only really remember the crazy ones. The scary ones involve things like checking the date and realizing that I missed a final exam, and the happy ones usually involve my current crush/girlfriend. Although they often end up being pretty weird too. Like this one where my girlfriend and I were in Florida and for some reason we met Celine Dion in her hotel room... yeah, I'll stop now. ^^;;

Ohh, Cool Beans, I have some very peculiar dreams sometimes. I think its a mix of all the Pizza, Rockstar, Techno, and Sci Fi original movies that are a part of my life. Now, my theory on dreams is you only remember the ones you don't finish, considering that I have never been able to remember a dream from hours before I woke up, so I would hate to be around for all of my dream, because the little sampler platter I have is odd enough.
Recent: OK, this is a good example. Just yesterday, or so.... I don't know, last time I was asleep. Anyway, My friends were all Zombies, but no one was telling me, and I didn't seem to notice, cause they still talked and stuff. We were holding off a horde of zombies that were hungry for people in this huge house on this hill, it was massive. And it all played out like a sporting event, My team, Purple team, was comprised of Me, and my Buddy's Ryan, Nate, and 2 Tylers that I know. The other team, Blue team, was Tom Hanks, Zack De La Rocha, George Bush, Dave Chapelle, and Crow T. Robot from Mystery Science Theater 3000, in their respective Zombie forms. The opposing team won, but Crow T. Robot blew up and Killed everyone on their team, and I think on of our Tylers. Well, nonetheless My team told me that they were zombies and nibbled on me a little bit, bit I was OK.
Scariest: The Pillsbury Doughboy was riding on the Green Giant's shoulder, and the two of them were chasing me down the worlds longest trailer, which had no windows or doors, just a bunch of furniture that was covered in plastic. - I kid you not. That was the scariest dream I've ever had.... Well, Not the scariest, but the one that inflicted me with the most fear. I remember I was up until dawn with my back pressed up against the wall, wrapped in my blankets after I woke up from that dream. Didn't eat vegetables or buns for months.
Craziest: I could never imagine my craziest, but I'll give it a whirl with a recent odd one. This one was just a few nights ago. I was out in the woods, it was beginning to drizzle, I had to start a fire. So I get some twigs and stuff, but I need some tinder. BAM! Convenient Gorilla out of nowhere, I rip a bunch of Hair off of him, he runs off singing. I take out my trusty, also convenient, flint stick, and start to use the striker on it to light the gorilla hair. I started to look around to see whats around, I look down, and I'm Rubbing a Dog Toy and a Pencil together, End Scene.
Happiest: Hmph... I don't know, I was pretty giggly thinking back on the Gorilla singing.

I dreamed a mini-series before. I'm not kidding. Each dream happened roughly a year apart from each other. I'm still waiting for the climactic ending.
So anyway, dream 1:
I live on this orphan island. It's just an island. For orphans. Think, like, every sad child play that involves orphans. We had coal marks on our faces and everything. This cruel guy was the owner (master? Whatever.) and he forced us to work pretty much all the time. There was this other boy there that was my best friend on the island. Then, at some point, the coast guard comes and shoots the owner and rescues us. End dream 1.
At this point, I thought it was just a whacky, random dream. That is, until I had dream 2 a few months later:
I'm living with my adoptive family (who, interesting enough, is actually my family in real life). I've lived on this island so long that my thinking about things is somewhat primitive. I have a computer and television in my bedroom, but I don't really know what they are or what to do with them. My adoptive sister (real life stepsister) takes me to the mall, but it just confuses and scares me. I'm really unhappy, and I miss the island and I miss my best friend. It's the 4th of July, and my family is going out on a boat to watch fireworks, but I'm depressed so I don't want to go. They leave without me. As soon as they're gone, I run out to the docks to try to find them. And I can't. End dream 2.
Initially, I didn't think these dreams were connected at all other than the orphan bit. But then I realized that I had thought about the island and that boy, so there must have been a connection. I didn't have another dream in this series until several years later. Oddly enough, it was the prequel. Dream 3:
I'm on a plane. The plane crashes and me and my parents (real parents this time) are the only survivors that we know of. We make it to this random island in the middle of nowhere. Magically, we find a civilization on the island. We're scared to approach them at first, but then we do and they're thrilled to meet us and invite us to stay with them. We do. We're there for a few days, and I absolutely love it there. I meet this boy (the son of the civilization ruler and the guy we talked to first) and we become really close friends. Then, my parents tell me that we're going to go back now and that there was a ship coming to save us. I decided I didn't want to go, so I ask my new best friend to hide me so that they leave without me and I can stay. End dream 3.
Very loose connection to the first dream, but I believe this is how I came to be on the orphan island. I felt the same closeness to the boy I befriended as I had to the boy from my first dream. Also, I felt a lot like the boy's father was the cruel orphan master from the first dream. It also explains why I was on the island in the first place and why I was upset when I was off of it in my second dream.
It's been several years since I've dreamed another dream in this series, so perhaps that's all I'm going to see. I really want to know how it turned from being such a utopian place to a cruel orphan island, though. All I know is that it's been years since I've had each of these dreams, and I still remember them so vividly and feel such a strong emotional attachment to them. Even while awake, I sometimes feel like I miss orphan island and my boy (pause) friend.

lols. My dreams also tend to get pretty strange.
One of my craziest: I was basically a walking corpse ala Jack Skellington. The dream began at this huge mansion at the top of this hill, and it was night outside, naturally. I had a friend who looked like that ragdoll type character from NBC, and we were all partying with all these other monster types, when suddenly she kills her father by ripping off his head. So we flee down this sloping concrete driveway surrounded by a huge pine forest on both sides, and eventually find our way into this house thing (a lawyer's office? I do recall we had to walk past a bright orange school bus to get in and I was admiring my reflection in the side of it). The waiting room was crowded with all these monsters and ghouls sitting on plastic chairs and standing around waiting for a consultation of some sort, and there was one of those water coolers in the corner and a few houseplants. We talked with the receptionist, then decided we had to FLEE immediately, so we fled straight into that pine forest. I remember there was a lot of partially melted snow everywhere. A werewolf had begun chasing us! We ran across a dry riverbed and were in the process of climbing up some large boulders at the other side when I stopped and turned around, only to see two oddly-coloured huskies (I think one was yellow) sniffing around that same riverbed. When the werewolf showed up, they both launched themselves at it and basically killed it.
A cyborg/android lady showed up, who reminded me of Ripley from the Alien movies, and together the three of us kept on travelling until we came to this huge wasteland where there were fires everywhere, dismembered robot parts and people flying around on machines and just general destruction. The Ripley-droid became very agitated and implored us to protect her, saying something along the lines that these people were out to destroy all androids. We came across a huge bowl in the land, like what you would see at a skate park where the sides curve upwards? (Half-pipe?) Only it was covered with snow. Suddenly separated from my comrades, I climbed onto the nose of this snowmobile, which was being driven by this army dude, and we began careening around that bowl, jumping through the air and such, and I was supposed to shoot down other snowmobiles as they came toward us with this dirty great machine gun.
And that's pretty much when the dream ended. There are a few other particularly crazies...like the one involving the deserted grocery store, the friendly giant, and all those baby mice wriggling around in the produce.

Emperor Palpatine? :/
I wish I had dreams half as interesting as you lot. I haven't had a dream (or at least, remembered one) since I was around 12 years old or so. Ever since that time period, I remember nothing between going to bed, and waking up...

I just remembered a cool dream I had once, now that watching Bewitched has reminded me of it. I was at school, but I had Samantha's witchy powers (specifically, I could snap my fingers and teleport wherever I wanted). That was a fun dream. I was rather disappointed when I realized it was one. ^^;;

You lie! You told me of a dream you had just a few days ago.
Anyway, here are the few random ones I remember..
Happiest: This is going to sound very corny, but the happiest dream I've ever had.. I had when I was about seven. I dreamt I was Snow White (of all people) and lived with the dwarves. I was even half cartoonish looking in the dream. I don't remember going through any of the poison apple, evil-witch-trying-to-kill-me stuff. All I remember is that before my foster mother woke me up for school, I was sitting in a field of flowers. When I was still half asleep, I whined to her and told her to let me sleep because I was Snow White. :p
Strangest: I once had a dream my mum was a gypsy, tarot card reader lady. I don't even remember most of the dream, just that I walked into the living room and saw my mom sitting cross-legged on the floor, a bunch of cards sitting in front of her. She had the big hoop earrings and a scarf around her head, plus a long purple skirt and a shawl... You know, gypsy wear! :p It was bizarre, because my mother is quite the Christian and to her that would be pure blasphemy.
Scariest: Scariest ever dream I've ever had, and by far the most vivid and memorable. I was at my ex boyfriends house with my sister.. It's this big old farm house. Some man was chasing us, and I just knew somehow that he was a rapist/killer. Like I'd seen his face on the news or something. At one point we ran upstairs away from him, and ran out the front door. What I didn't realize was that he'd grabbed my sister who was running behind me. I creaked the front door back open and could hear my sister screaming from the basement. I didn't want to go back in, so I grabbed my cell phone and called my grandparents. (Oddest people to call, both sets of grandparents live far away.) And a bit later two old people pulled up in the driveway and got out, trying to comfort me and tell me everything would be okay. I kept insisting we should call the police or something, and something about the old people kept bugging me. Because they weren't my grandparents. So I ran back inside and grabbed a bunch of knives from the kitchen, and found the guy and I think I stabbed him? Something like that.. After that, the last thing I remember was dragging his body out to the front step in a garbage bag. My sister had apparently disappeared or been killed at some point, because she wasn't there at the end of the dream. ...Strange. I woke up crying and panicked, and had to go knock on my sisters door to make sure she was still there.

I can't say that I remember my dreams, but I've dreamed in anime before. Is that sad, or what?

You lie! You told me of a dream you had just a few days ago.Well, of course there are exceptions once in a while, but they are rare, and an oddity. Hence why I told you of it.
The freakiest dream I've ever had made me cringe for a week after having it. The Premise: I murdered a woman, and attended her funeral wearing her coat.... what bothered me was that I knew I had worn it for one simple reason: Because the family would recognize it, and be unable to do anything about it, since they couldn't prove it was hers.
That dream made me hate myself for weeks, and made me glad that I only dream once in a blue moon.
I have a variety of dreams, once I dreamt I was flying through the air. Had no idea where I was flying, but there I was all the same.
Another time, I dreamt a creature of pure darkness was reaching for me. I woke up screaming.
Another Time I dreamt a Demon was trying to kill me, it scared me, and I must not of been fully awake, because when I opened my eyes, it wasn't a dream, there really was demon choking me. If it wasn't for the Mercy of a ball of white light that came out of nowherea and saved me...
But those were the good ones.
Then there are "Other" kinds of dreams.
the first one I remember, though it was never entirely clear, was when I found myself awake on this strange world. The Grass was black, naturally, it grew that way. There was air to breath like on earth, but the air was missing the same refractive properties ours has, it was completly clear. There were three suns, and it orbited all three in such a pattern that for the first part of this worlds year there were three suns for the first part, two for the second, and one for the last part.
Anyways, I walked the world for many years until I became an old man, never once seeing another soul. Then I came accross an elderly man, he asked for my help in digging a grave, and, I helped him as fast as I could, remember, I was an old man by this point. He helped me out of the grave and his wife and children stepped in. With one mighty scoop he buried them.
I asked him why he would do such a thing, and he told me it was because they had died many years ago. Then he said it was his turn to die soon, and I asked him if there was anything I could do to save him. He put his hands on my shoulders and looked directly into my eyes. He said that He would forever live within My soul, his soul becoming one with mine. I woke up, and I knew his name. He is my favorite character and often times I use him first when visiting a new RP site. His name is Sir Rahegalhoff Mesquchoku, and this time I decided to use Xos first, but he's another story for another time.
Last night I had a really really weird dream.
In this dream, we didn't own our pet cockatiel, but rented him for periods of a year at a time. and this bird was special because he could shapeshift into my little sister.
Anyway, the year came around and I remember that mom decided to not rent the bird again, meaning that when the lady took the bird, she'd also be taking m sister. Or I guess the kid that in the dream I called sister, who was the image of my IRL little sister.
and then I go for a car ride with my cousin and a tia (aunt) that I'd never met. It was weird.
Most of my dreams either shift into melting images, darkness, or something so strange that I'm surprised I wasn't traumatized by it. The strangest one I ever had was when I was walking from the storeroom in my basement to the stairs I was attacked by an old love interest who had freddy-crougar type claws. She caught me by surprise, knocked me down, started scratching up my face and asked me tantalizing questions like which battery brands are produced in Germany.
.. Never did sleep with the television on after that.
I don't know if this is common or not, but I often get little glimpses of the future. Nothing big. Maybe a friend and I laughing, the end of a joke, myself shaking hands with somebody. Nothing even vaguely important, but it seems to happen weeks after the dream exactly the way I dreamnt it. Weird.
I had an unusual dream. I was debating with this random person I vaguly remember from somewhere, probably someone I had seen in passing once in Real life, and we were debating on what god was stronger, The Flying Spaghetti Monster, or Xenu from Scientology. He got real upset after I suggusted that most dieties would simply eat the flying spaghetti Monster for breakfast and then pour their wrath upon Xenu's Galactic Civilization and call it a day. He got real upset and said oh yeah, well Purple. After that he exploded into an entire landscape of gentle rolling hills. I woke up after that.

Most of the time I dream about dying. The most unusual dream I have had was I dreamed that I some how was transported back to the late 1800's. I had on the outer clothing of the period, but I was wearing combat boots with my girly dress. the man's house I popped up in started to question me why I was in his home. A bunch of ninjas appeared out of no where. I helped the guy get rid of the ninjas. One I chased outside and tossed over the railing of the walk way to the swamp below.
When I went back into the room the guy was making me really mad by staring at my ankles. The last ninjas popped out of the chimney and grabbed me. He tried to pulled me up into the chimney but the metal hoops in my skirt got caught on the smaller opening. He was yelling at me to let go and I yelled at him that my skirt was caught.
The dream changed, I was out side listening to music come up out of this crystal clear pond. Beneath the water a man played some form of pipes. As I listened couples began to fall into the water. Once they sank under they changed into a form of aquatic humans and began dancing under the water. Eventually I also fell in and watch these people dance around me to the music. It was oddly beautiful.

I had a bad fever for most of today, and slept on an off. Yay for fever dreams!
I was standing in a parking lot, at night, against a car. At one point, I looked into the empty car and on the window opposite me, I could see written in lipstick, "Just Remarried!" I looked up, and a red Ford Festiva (the car my ex drove, but his was white) came up. Sure enough, Daniel was driving and he apologized for being late. I was confused because I didn't know I was waiting for him. I couldn't remember why I was in the parking lot at all, but I got in his car and he drove me to an office building. I went in alone, up to the top floor. I was in an empty office, looking at the city from like the 20th story, when my dog walked in with Hitler. He told me he had a secret to tell me, but before he could tell it to me, he started going into seizures. My dog looked at me and said, "Well, if there's nothing to be done, there's nothing to do."
