View Full Version : A Podcasted Interview
Click here (http://media.switchpod.com/users/thesoursavior/bazaarinterview.mp3) to hear an interview with the most important person in Althanas history about the most important aspect of Althanas history: the Bazaar.
This recording is 8:40.4 long. Around the fourth minute it transitions from talking about Tanthanas to Newthanas. Towards the very end (around 7:16) we start talking about the future of Althanas.
So, first off, I'd like to hear what you all think of the topics at hand. Secondly, I'd like to expand out my guest list a little. I believe, although I haven't tested it out yet, that I can get my phone picked up by my mic with a little bit of practice, so theoretically I could record with anybody.

Very interesting discussion (/monologue). I had forgotten a lot of the huge changes that came to the bazaar -- and actually to the entire system of equipment -- over the years.
I also really like a lot of your ideas for the future. Materials and the bazaar, for some reason, have been things that seem to undergo a lot of flux constantly as we try to figure out something that works just right. There have been a lot of new ideas over the years that come, stay for a couple of months, and then disappear simply because they did not work as intended. Other ideas stick around and later get changed or removed entirely. It's something we haven't quite come to a place where we can be completely satisfied with the system yet.
Very interesting once again. Keep the podcasts coming!
Well, thanks for the encouragement. It was fun to make. Perhaps you should do an interview/monologue about the back end. You could do it in the style of Sir Mix-A-Lot. (Baby got back-end.)
I think one of the reasons why the bazaar has never really been finished is that nobody pays attention to it unless they want something right that moment. Otherwise it's just something to ignore in the background.

Just started to listen, but it seems pretty good right now. Nice to hear about the history of this though.
I also like the analysis of everything. More detailed stuff later. I like it though, and I like the thoughts put forward, I would like it if you had more and whatnot.
I mean, I have more of pretty much all of the thoughts. I mostly stopped because I was just droning on and on. Also, I was pretty convinced that I was the only one interested in the really detail oriented bits. Also: I lost all of my files.

Just for you history buffs out there: the other moderator, the one Andrew can't remember, was SilverBehemoth. He was a big deal back then in that he designed the first tier system -- the one that had the problems with gold and silver as being above other materials. We then took that system and designed the woods off of it -- for example, from regular woods, then silverwood, goldwood, mythrilwood, etc.
Also, he's being a bit humble. Liviol was named after another of his characters, Livio, at my urging. It's an honor we shouldn't forget.
