Let me start by saying I'm eagerly awaiting a chance to role play in a board such quality as Althanas. My good friend Neptune referred me to this site with nothing but good things to say about the site, and I hope I can meet the expectations.

Name: Shu Abishi
Age: 23
Race: Human
Hair Color: White
Eye Color: Onyx (gray)
Height: 6'0
Weight:185 lbs
*Occupation: Alchemist

Growing up as a boy, it was always Shu's eager mindset, brain capacity and the want to learn as he watched his father in his Laboratory. Shu would watch him at work for hours, mixing potions, conducting experiments, only until his father would wish him away to the safety of the upstairs. Shu was determined to be at least half of the man his father was. Grant Abishi, he was almost a legend in his town. being the local Alchemist, there was basically no sickness that Grant couldn't cure. Grant was seemingly invincible, until that one fateful day.
Shu had been playing in the safety of the marsh grasslands of their front yard while his Father was mixing another one of his concoctions, oh how badly Shu wanted to be down there, watching his father at work. Though for now, Shu swept the thick daisy colored hair out of his Emerald green eyes and loafed back in the grass, trying to relax. This relaxing moment was only reached until there was a loud explosion, accompanied by a scream. Shu ran to the basement door, assuming the worst for his Father.
The basement was flooded with smoke, and Shu coughed heavily as he breathed in the thick vapors. "Father!" Shu called out to no avail. He fell to his knees as he saw his fathers Lab coat and other various utensils lying in a small puddle near his workstation. Consumed with rage, anger, and sadness, Shu overturned all of the tables in the basements, liquids flying everywhere. The toxins emitted smokes the likes of which no one should ever be exposed to. Some of the scolding liquids landed on Shu's face, though he felt no pain for the feeling of adrenalin rushing through his body was overpowering. Shu eventually ran from the building, and collapsed in the grass, where he watched his home burn in multi-colored flame. It was as if something man made was making those colored flames.
It was late, the stars were out,and Shu's fire had died. "Not again. Incedious." Shu mumbled absentmindedly. He wasn't as concerned with the fire burning out, for with a snap of his fingers, the embers were rekindled. Shu was more outraged that he had been burdened with that nightmare again. "It's been ten years, just get over it." Shu said to himself, placing his black gloved hands up to what was left of his pale face. The acids were so corruptive that they seemed to eat much of Shu's face that fateful night when he threw his anger fit. Shu now bears the only remaining relic of his father the Alcemist, his red scarf. He tied it ever so tightly around his face, covering up the brim of his nose, and the tail ends tied around the back of his head and dangled mid back. Shu wasn't much more than a wanderer now, so he took what he could get, a black cloth robe adorned him at all times in an attempt to keep out the wind. His feet were fitted in riding boot, though he had no trustworthy steed to ride. Truthfully, about the only object deemed trustworthy in Shu's possession would be his Staff. It was made of pure white oak, almost five feet in length with a large crescent shaped moon on the top, and a spear like dagger on the bottom. Although used for mostly just for assistance in walking tough trails, Shu did have some skill in handling this weapon, though preferred a life of peace, and wouldn't wander off in search of fights.
Though Shu did suppose that some good did come out of his years of vagabond, he was beginning to understand the final research project of his father before his death. his father was studying the elements. He managed to obtain a shard of each Element; Frost, Fire, Light, and Darkness. Shu was slowly and steadily improving his craft as a Mage, but it seemed as if Magi were not very well like around these parts, and with his skills not much above those of a young child, Shu couldn't defend himself from an angry squirrel let alone an angry mob. Though there was hope. In his travels he had acquired a book of spells, ranging from Mage training for the youthful to Wizardry for masters. Shu practiced spells from this book every day, in hops that he could one day be strong enough to protect himself and not have to cower in fear in his hiding place every time he was attacked.
"One day I shall find a way to bring my father from the dead. If it means i have to risk my own life, I shall. My father was more of a man than I shall ever be." Shu mumbled quietly, staring at his flickering reflection in the fire. His golden hair had turn starch white, and his Emerald eyes an Onyx gray. "I shall not stop until I find a way to bring my father back." Shu solemnly swore as he skimmed through the pages of his book, then gently wrapped it in the folds of his robe once more.

Skills
Incendious- When the Incendious charm is cast, small brightly colored sparks are emitted from the casters hand. This spell is more usefully in helping Shu stay alive in re-igniting fires or scaring away any unwanted trespassers from his camp. Though in due time he has read that it could become and average magical offensive spell.

Freeze- One of the few upper level spells that Shu has been able to obtain. This is a strictly defensive spell. Shards of ice will explode from around the caster and temporarily freeze two hostile targets in place. This is a channeled spell, meaning that Shu must keep his concentration for the effect to be kept. This spell has a max duration of five seconds, and can be resisted by enemies of greater strength.

Book of the Magi- The one of a kind book that Shu has obtained and is constantly studying. It has spells of unknown power that Shu isn't even able to comprehend, though through constant training he hope to one day be able to master every one of the spells. (Just filling)

Weapon Mastery
Staves- Shu will never be without his Oaken stave, it is always by his side. Although more of a means of transportation, since he can not solely rely on his magic, he can use brute force if he is pushed into a corner. (Skill level - Average for willing lack of use. )

(Thank you very much for you patience Santhalas, I will be sure not to dissipoint you you my roleplaying abilities. I'll go and make use of my gold as soon as possibile.)

Tranquil,

You need to describe in more detail your Incendious and Freeze spells. What do you mean by "survival skills," and what do you mean by "temporarily freeze any hostile target in place" - how long do they freeze for?

And what equipment would you like your character to start with?

Although this is only what he has read, and a lot changes when you are running away from four hostile creatures.

As for Shu's Equipment, I'm not exactly sure what he'll need. I'm pretty sure that you've already picked up that I've made him a support class. Though he does have his Staff, so he won't be needing anymore melee weapons. But if I could ask for maybe a small sash filled with some Herbs so that he could make potions on the run? I do believe that is all he will need, that or he will find this later on in life.

I hope my changes have appeased you all.

Tranquil, you need to indicate a maximum length of time that your Freeze spell can last, and limit how long your character can hold it for. If you pick a firm number for that, I'll approve you.

Okay, since Shu's Magic abilities are currently raw and not very powerful, I'll keep his Freeze spell that way too. Being that it is his main spell, I will have it be his strongest though. The number I shall set for the Freeze spell shall be as forth.

Could you put those edits directly into your profile by editing your original post? Once you do that, I'll close this thread, you'll be approved, and you can start role-playing.

Remember, your character is awarded 200 GP to start as well as 300 GP worth of supplies at The Bazaar, the forum where you may purchase additional items for your character.

Now that you're approved, you may role-play anywhere on the forum you like. I would greatly recommend spending your 300 GP at The Bazaar as quickly as possible - if you don't use it within a month of your registration then it will expire. Also, Althanas has two optional forums for new characters to begin their role-playing in: The Peaceful Promenade is a tavern where you may introduce yourself to other players in-character, and Scara Brae is a forum exclusively for role-playing with other new characters. Enjoy!
