He will as soon kill in the name of justice as protect the innocent. Also, Fabian likes to laugh, and has a sarcastic sense of humor.
History: Fabian's history was not much in the sense of action or adventure. He was raised by both his mother and father in the town of Radasanth. His father, Daniel, worked for the city as one of their guards. His father instilled in Fabian many of his beliefs and values. Fabian's mother, Priscilla, was always there for Fabian and shared her husband's beliefs. They raised Fabian to always be proud of what he stood for, to always lend a hand when he was able, and to never doubt himself. When Fabian turned sixteen, he started working for the city guard, helping in what ways he could. He helped to deliver messages, and took supplies to the posts. He also received weapons training from the city guard; some hand to hand fighting, but mostly ranged combat, which was Fabian's most favored type. He trained for hours each day. Each time he picked up his bow, it seemed, his arrows shot straighter, hit their targets harder, and flew faster. He was becoming quite the archer.
Just before his eighteenth birthday, Fabian put on his first uniform. He had a ceremony in his name, and was hailed as the youngest man to ever join the Radasanth guard. He was posted at the top of the entrance to the city. He was a scout. He watched those who entered into the city and pointed out those who looked suspicious to be questioned and/or searched. When he had been working for the guard about eight months, something happened to Fabian which changed his life.
Fabian woke up at six in the morning, like he did every morning. He put on his uniform, equipped his bow and his dagger, and went out to his post. He relieved the guard before his with a nod. The other man left, looking very thankful for the reprieve. The sun had not yet risen, but was soon to do so. Fabian surveyed the area outside of the gates, which had been locked for the night already. He would have to open them up in less than an hour, at sunrise. He looked back into the peaceful city. He enjoyed the tranquility of the early mornings. Only a few shopkeepers were awake with lights on in their buildings, and almost no one was outdoors. After about half an hour, the first inclinations of light were bending over the horizon. Fabian and the guard on the opposite end of the gate looked at each other and nodded. It was time to raise the gate. They each pulled back the lever at the top of the gate whic began to spin the chain and lift the heavy portcullis.
After the gate was open, Fabian went back to his position watching the area outside. After a few minutes, he saw someone coming towards them off in the distance. As he neared, Fabian saw that it was a single man, a traveler with a cane. He seemed harmless enough. Fabian said nothing as the man entered into the city, but watched the man carefully. The old man looked up right at Fabian and smiled. Fabian thought the man a bit strange, but nodded and looked away. As the man walked further into the city, Fabian turned around to watch him again. The man was moving from door to door, pushing on them lightly. Fabian got the other guard's attention and pointed at the man. He said, "Hey, what's that guy doing?" They other guard looked at the man and knew what he was about to do. He called down for a guard at the ground to go question the man. When Fabian looked back to where the man had been, he saw nothing. His gaze moved about four houses down, to an open door. Fabian's stomach dropped.
He rushed down from his post and charged toward his house. He busted inside, and looked around for anything. He heard a scream from upstairs. A horrified look came over Fabian's face as he recognized his mother's voice. He bolted up to the second floor. He got the the door and saw some furniture turned over, and his mother's jewelry was missing. The man who he had let into the city was standing in the middle of the room, holding the jewelry in one hand, in the other, he helf a dagger with blood dripping from it. The man looked at him for half a second with a grim smile. The man jumped through a nearby window landing on the ground to stories below. When the man moved, he revealed the body of Fabian's mother which he had been crouched over. Fabian rushed to her. She had a stab wound in her stomach, and was bleeding profusely. Her eyes looked were teary and her arms were shaking. Fabian cried at the sight of her, pleading with her to stay alive. He called as loud as he could for help. His mother just looked at him through her tears. Fabian cried harder. She tried to say something, "F-Fabian...."
Fabian sobbed, "Mom, i'm here." A half smile came to her lips, and then her eyes closed. Some other men rushed into the room, including Fabian's father. His father Daniel fell to his knees next to his son. He put both arms around his wife and hugged her, crying. The other men in the room looked down removing their helmets. One of them shouted for some of the other to "Follow him." Fabian assumed he was going after the man who had done this.
Later that day, the guards did catch the man, and he was hung. This made Fabian feel no better, though. His mother was dead, and it was his fault. He had let the man into the city. Fabian felt he could no longer be a part of the Radasanth guards. The next day he turned in his uniform. He requested to keep the longbow and the dagger, which the captain allowed. After saying good-bye to his father, Fabian left Radasanth that day.
