Corone, it was easily thought of as the center of Althanas. The Citadel was here, and many came and went from this Island nation.

She came. She had been told to do so by the spirit of nature. Having recently just lost her teacher and father, she was at a loss as to what to do. During her commune with nature, she had been told, by the direction of the wind, by the chirping of the birds, b the movement of the waves, she should travel the world to learn more. So here she was, in the Coronian Bazaar.

Many people looked at her with intrest. Clearly she was Elven, but what kind? Alerarian, Raiaeran? it was entirely unclear. Her hair was white, and had many feathers and beads worked into it. Almost like a Crown, a small set of antlers decorated her head. She was dressed from head to toe in skins and leathers, her skin was greyish brown. By her side was a She Wolf, with Black, White, and Brown fur. Its Golden Brown eyes were uncertain, as were those of the woman she stayed so closely next to.

She was of course, a Druidess, and an object of fascination for many city folk who had never seen one. Of course, the young woman had never seen the city before either. When she had boarded for passage to Corone, the docks had been out on the edge of the city.

Now she walked in the center of the street, scared and nervous in this strange and unnatural environment. She leaped to the side to dodge a passing carrage, and by chance happened to step into a bowmakers shop.

she didn't notice this however, she was too busy looking and starring at the walls and door as though she had just been eaten. As a satisfied customer stepped out, she was startled by the ringing of the bell on the door.

"We are, alive?" The wolf asked the woman, via bodylanguage and a
whimper.

"Is this a building? I heard of them, but never seen one before." The woman said to the wolf via more body langauge and a snarl.

Then she noticed all the various bows and all the various arrows, and a person she assumed was the shopkeeper looking at her.

She cautiously stepped up to the counter still not entirely trusting her surroundings. The wolf stayed seated in the corner.

"Can I have one?" she asked indicating the bows. She was unfamilier with buying and selling, she was used to getting things as a gift, or just simply asking and recieving. Money was a foreign concept to her. She had some, she just didn't know she had some.

A woman in her thirties looked up as the bell at her door chimed. A smiled readied itself for her newest customer. Taking in the sight of the customer and her companion, the smile began to fade until she firmly pulled it up into place. Patience, she reminded her self. It takes all types for the world to go around. At the timid question the woman came around the counter. Carefully skirting the wolf she grabbed one of the bows and tested it.

“I’m Erin, hon. Of course you can have one. Gold can buy anything. Except happiness that is.” Erin paused to grin at the girl.

“What’s your name, love? Your friend’s name too. Itch, look at me, sitting here jabbering away at you and you wanting to make a purchase.” Erin, frowned at the bow she had in her hand. Walking back to the counter she placed it on the counter, muttering under her breath about shoddy craftsmanship.

“Now then, do you have an idea of what you would like? Short bow, horse bow or a long bow? I also carry re-curved bows, light and heavy cross bows. Arrows and bolts are not included in the price of the bows. They can be purchased here.” Erin paused sure she was over loading the girl with information.

“Also you might want to think about the materials the bows would be made up. The price changes accordingly.”

"My name is Valanthe Xiloscent. My Sister's name is Moonbeam. Obviously she's a wolf, I'm a druidess, and this is my first time to a city. Is this thing safe, it will not immediatly collapse upon us, or spring to life and eat us?" She asked indicating the walls and ceiling of the building.

"Purchase? Oh, you mean trade, well, I have nothing valuble to trade, except all these silly gold circles. I have about five hundred of them. Maybe some of them would do, for a Longbow, my teacher was fond of the stroy of an archer famous for using a yew Longbow. He was the greatest shot in his land, so clearly it must be good bowmaking wood. I had one made of oak once, but it broke, then my entire grove was taken in a horrible flesh eating disease. Fortunatly, I was spared, but my teacher, he died. I had not yet learned all he had to teach me, but I delight in knowing he lives again as a new creature.

Maybe, if its possible, what sort of a longbow would you recommend? I hear stories that the same kind of tress that once grew in my grove also make sought after items, when fashioned by one skilled in the arts of woodworking. They were living trees, I mean Liviol trees. After being around many generations of druids, it was just natural they would develop into such. But, they too died. I wouldn't mind one of Liviol though, if enough of these gold circles would purchase one.

Then again, there was a man once who came through our forest, he had the strange notion of making one out of metal. Isn't that the silliest thing you ever heard of? How would you draw such a thing, surely it would require a giant's strength to bend the bow." Valanthe said. She was going to continue talking, but was interupted by a short howl from moonbeam, who grew tired of her incessant chatter.

"So, to sum it up, Yew or Liviol, unless you can suggust something better. I will also need arrows to go with it." Valanthe said.

“A pleasure to meet you Valanthe, you too Moonbeam. My, that’s a mouthful isn’t it? Mind if I call you Val? I once knew a nice young lady by that name, it a cryin shame she ran off with the Bilkins boy.” Erin stopped and waved a hand with a small laugh.

“There I go again, jabbering away and you probably bored out of your mind. Now as to this fine little establishment I think these walls will be standing long after I’m dead and gone. Wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the way it happens.” Glancing at the walls and ceiling, Erin nodded as if agreeing with herself. “Right sturdy craftsmanship went into making this place. It’ll not come down any time soon.

“Let me see you said yew or liviol, right?” Hurrying back to her counter Erin pulled out a large book. Flipping through it she muttered to herself as she scanned page after page until she reached what she was looking for.

“Ah, here we go, love. A long bow made of an decent average workmanship in yew would be just 120 gold pieces. I’m afraid that a bow made of Liviol would be darn near useless. The wood’s just not right for a bow. Now a bow can be made of liviol and some other type of wood. That would cost ya about 600 gold. I can give ya 15 arrows for 30 gold.” Erin put away her book and leaned on the counter. She smiled at the girl indulgently.

“Hard to choose isn’t it? Ah, some of the hardest choices in life lead to the best things.” Erin smiled, her gaze distant as she thought about the past. Shaking her head, she grinned and flushed, embarrassed.

"I'll go with the same type of bow as that Archer in the story. A good sturdy Yew Longbow. And lesse, what if the craftsmanship were improved, something better than average, what then would I have to pay?" Valanthe asked.

“For a long bow, I believe it would be around 150 gold.” Erin thought for a moment then dove for her book again. Flicking easily to the correct page this time she looked over the listings and the prices.

“Yep, 150 gold, hon. So, we have the long bow and 15 arrows, right?” Erin smiled at the girl.

“Is there anything else I you want or will that be all for now dearie?”

"Well, probably a Quiver. It would be cumbersum to carry them all by hand. It was too let me tell you." Valanthe said.

"Don't forget the time you tried carrying them in a bag on your back and broke them in a footrace with that horse." Moonbeam said with what sounded to the untrained ear as the whimpers of an animal uncomfortable in confined spaces.

Valanthe burst out laughing. "Indeed, indeed, well if that rock wasn't in my way, I would've beaten him, not tumbled head over heels onto my backside." She said in human.

"Excuses excuses." said moonbeam in a few more wimpers.

Appearently niether had considered that the shopkeep might not understand Wolfish.

Then Valanthe, who had picked up rather quickly on how goods were aquired here, spotted a beautiful red leather Quiver able to carry plenty of arrows. Surely it would cost at least another 150 gold. She looked at it and picked it up.

"So pretty." She murmured.

(((OOC))) The object is for her to use up at least her Bazaar voucher amount so that I don't have to worry about it anymore. She'll also request additional arrows before its over.(((OOC)))

Erin stared at the wolf, unsure if the wolf was annoyed with something or about to make a mess on the floor. When no more grumbles came from the beautiful animal she turned her attention back to Valanthe.

“Lovely, isn’t it? Fine workmanship too. Just like that bow you want that quiver is likely to hold together for a good long time. My items are made with care they are. That little beauty will cost ya 150 gold.” Erin drew out three sheets of paper. On one she made a tally of the items Valanthe would buy. On the other two she quickly drew up a receipt.

“Less see, the bow 150 gold, that lovely quiver 150, I have 15 arrows in stock those are 30 gold. Your grand total comes to 330 gold, hon. Not too bad, dearie.” Erin turned the two receipts towards the girl and laid the charcoal pencil beside the paper.

“I’ll just be needing you to sign these papers. One copy is your and the other is for my booking.”

"Alright." Valanthe said. She did know how to read and write, and her handwriting was beautiful. She put on the Quiver and her new Bow, practicing drawing Arrows from it a few times.

"Perfect." Valanthe said.

Moonbeam came over and licked the woman's hand.

"Thanks." She said with her eyes alone.

Leaving the appropriate amount of money on the counter, the two left the shop.

Erin smiled at the young girl as she and her companion walked out after paying.

"Take care, dearie." She called after them before the door shut.
