((This is my first ever solo quest; thus, this thread is closed. Wish me luck!))

Revolution was brewing in the Kingdom of Arie. The kingdom had long been a fancy empire, an empire that no one had dared reckon with. The kingdom was well respected in the region. The monarchy was not tyrannical nor was it authoritarian by anybody’s standards. However, when power could be sought, humans would most definitely attempt to seize it. The Kingdom of Arie, no matter how magnificent or glorious, could not escape this unwritten rule. Human beings looked out for their own kind and most importantly, for themselves — it was written in their genetic code: the ability to survive, to live.

The capital city of Gundzol is magnificent at night. The kingdom is a highly industrial and technologically advanced empire. Under the rule of the crown, intellectualism and innovation flourished. Gundzol no longer used any manmade fuels, having cast them as barbaric or for the simple-minded, the poor. Energy was renewable and plentiful, as was the wealth of the people who lived in Gundzol; lights were everywhere giving the city a beautiful glow. Gundzol was a city of many palaces and ornate houses. The nobility, the rich and the intelligent lived here among the royalty. Gundzol was the place to be, the vibrant epicenter of human life in the region; it spread its influences like shockwaves around the world, and people were all eager to pick up the latest trends straight from Arie.

The military was all powerful; it was the most technologically advanced in the world. It housed the strongest and bravest of men and women from around the kingdom. Magnet schools existed solely for the recruiting of the most talented, the most intelligent, and the most competent; it only accepted the cream of the crop, and it was of a high honor to be able to serve in the Kingdom of Arie’s Royal Armed Forces. Of greater distinguishment was to serve in the modern-day Praetorian Guard, the All-Seeing Fox Unit of the Royal Armed Forces. It accepted only the most able and highest achievers from the magnet schools. They were enlisted first as non-commissioned officers unlike their counterparts in school. Many of them were quickly promoted to officers, as they were quite possibly the most accomplished individuals in the world. Maverick Wyfind was one of these cadets, a talented young man that would soon make his way up the military hierarchy into the A-SFU.

Wyfind was always patriotic and always loyal to his unit, his family, himself, and the crown. Wyfind’s unit wore the royal crest on their right shoulder proudly; it designated them as the top of the top, those fit to serve royalty and be among them as equals. The royal crest was a splash of blue and black. The black represented the unknown frontier in which the Kingdom of Arie had conquered and vanquished each time its borders grew larger and larger with each latest conquest, while the royal blue plastered itself on all the kingdom’s banners and flags; it symbolized the soul at peace, the calmness of rule under blue blood — majesty.

Three raggedy humans met with one another in the basement of their leader’s home, a woman. It was dark with only a candle’s small flame providing sanctuary from the unknown and the mysterious. The tallest of them spoke first, “The Yearly Festival will soon begin; it will begin in around two weeks.” Another spoke from across the room, “We know Harkz, every doofus knows that there are four hundred days in a year. The Yearly Festival has always been on the first day of the new year; even a measly child knows that.” Harkz, offended at the insubordination hissed, “Wisut, you must remember that I am your superior. I am stronger than you by great lengths. You would do best not to ridicule or insult me. A short woman stood between the two dirty men and muttered calmly, “It is always the boys that fight. If it weren’t for me, we would never get anywhere. Women have always held a level-head while men simply wish to bash each other over theirs. If there were no women in the world, I would daresay that the world would be coming to an end.” Harkz and Wisut both looked up at the woman. They could make out her features in the candlelight. She was a rather short woman, yet she carried herself with a dignified grace. The two men were both strong and rather fearless, no matter how petty or simple-minded they could be at times.

Harkz and Wisut were both afraid of Ermina; she was far more intelligent than they were. Ermina realizing that she had commanded some respect, let out a grin, “Are we going to get to planning or what?”
