Udrik

Name: Udrik Alashan
Age: 29
Race: Human

Height: 6'3"
Weight: 224 lbs.
Hair Color: Bald
Eye Color: Brown

Occupation: Priest of Khal'jaren (See Codex of Thayne Lore)

Appearance: Udrik is of fairly above average build; tall, muscular, and in extremely good shape. He has many tattoos. (Basically, to save some reading time, he looks exactly like my avatar.)

History: Udrik was born in Concordia to devout followers of Y’edda. Throughout his early childhood and into adolescence he was raised with their druidic principles. During this time he learned many skills, such as stealth, cunning, and fighting with both the staff and the bow. In his teens these skills increased greatly with the growing presence of the Bandit Brotherhood in Concordia Forest, which caused the druids much strife. It was also during these years that Udrik made his first trips to Radasanth and met followers of the other Thayne deities for the first time. The followers of the other Thayne had always intrigued Udrik and his ventures into the city became more and more common as his thirst for knowledge grew.

Eventually Udrik’s visits became week long stays and more often then not led him to the same man, whom he knew only as Alistair. Alistair and Udrik would talk for hours and hours, sometimes all through the night and into the next day, Udrik enthralled by the knowledge Alistair possessed and Alistair happy to pass his wisdom on to someone as eager as Udrik. Alistair himself was a Priest of Khal’jaren and it was not long before Udrik realized that he was on the wrong path and he himself converted to ways of Sage God.

This conversion made many of his kin and community uneasy. While few said anything Udrik was not oblivious to the averted eyes and whispers of the others. His mind had already been made up, but now he was sure, it was time to leave his home and make his way to Raiaera, to the Black Desert, in search of the Sage’s Library in the Black Desert, where he could continue his studies among more welcoming figures.

The journey to Raiaera was a tumultuous one. Never before had Udrik left the Coronian continent and despite what he thought to be a vast knowledge of the cultures of others he was very much like a fish out of water. Udrik intentionally made his journey a long one, so that he could soak in as much of Althanas as possible. After leaving Corone he first went to Etheria Port in Alerar. There he found the dark elves to be an intolerable people and their study of technology to be unnatural. From there he traveled north into Kachuk where he settled for nearly two years, entirely taken with dwarven society and culture. Here he did much studying among the dwarven priests and became very learned in the ways of Hromagh the Strong. It was here among the dwarves that Udrik discovered the spiritual properties of the tattoo and he received his first of many.

From Kachuk Udrik continued north, through Salvar and into Beravar, where he spent a much shorter time (he disliked the cold greatly) and studied among the people of Jomil. After nearly 3 months in the frigid climate he set south, once and for all, into Raiaera. It was a dangerous time on the elven continent when Udrik arrived. There was war between Raiaera and Alerar and undead roamed freely under the assault of the necromancer Xem-Zund. Eventually Udrik found his way to Anebrillith, where he stayed another six months before setting out into the Black Desert.

Unlike the cold wastes of Salvar and Beravar, Udrik found himself quite at home in the arid heat of the desert. That was, until, he ran into the N’Jal. He had thought the dangers of the N’Jal had been left behind in Concordia, but there was a faction of them that roamed the Black Desert as well. They harassed Udrik’s journey at every turn, almost killing the priest on numerous occasions. Through a bit of luck and skill Udrik made it to the library, where he has been studying since. He has been planning to make another pilgrimage of sorts, to the other various temples of the Thayne, but the N’Jal had showed him he cannot do it alone. So now he waits, gaining knowledge and strength, anxious of his opportunity to begin his next journey.

Skills:

Staff fighting - Moderately skilled
Stealth - Especially in forest settings.
Knowledge - Like Khal’jaren, knowledge and cunning are probably Udrik’s best weapons.
Languages - Udrik, in his studies, has learned the languages of Corone, the elvish languages, Kachuk, and the northern languages.

Other then that, Udrik has no special skills or talents.

Equipment

-Black robes.
-Oak staff.
-A wide array of books on Thayne lore.
-Numerous little trinkets he gathered on his journeys through Althanas. Nothing particularly useful, more like little memorabilia type things.
