Seriously. How much stupid paperwork can a college need??

I'm sorry, I'm bitter.

I apologize for this being I'm-Too-Busy Thread Number Eight, at least. College financial aid forms and other official things in addition to real life is sapping all my time. Not to mention doing my first assignment for school - a self-portrait - and buying things for my dorm. Things haven't calmed down since February, and it doesn't look like they will any time soon.

This isn't an "I'm leaving" thread, because I could never leave Althanas. In fact, Althanas is half the reason I've been looking for a cheap laptop to use during college. I mean, aside from email and writing papers and what not. :) So if anyone knows where to find a cheap one, please let me know.

Anyway - this week is supremely swamped, but I'll try to get back into action here on Thursday/Friday. Here's to hoping!

I always find it odd how in this age of technology and fast Internets, certain services still stubbornly cling to loads and loads of paperwork. But you gotta do what you gotta do. So good luck with sorting everything out.

Self portraits are hard!

Take your time and all the whatnots, Empy. ^_^

And Letho, dude. You can't ignore the importance of having hard-copies of digital forms. Power to the Paper!

Thanks, guys. :)

Yeah, Raven, I agree. I have tons of ideas, but none about how to actually pull them off. Fortunately we can be as creative as we want, so I can draw myself all cartoony, which is how I always picture myself in these things. :D

Letho - actually, almost all of my forms are online. It's just that there's so many of them, and with my dad having been workking out-of-town for a year, it's hard for us to get them done. We have to keep pushing the deadlines.

Gah. o__o

Well, good luck getting everything finished - I hope to see you back here soon.

I wish you luck. I need to go through that crap in a year, and I'm scared.

Hope it all works out for you!

ALL the paperwork is done. My part is, at least. Yesss.

Now comes the hard part - the actual college experience! All today, I will be shopping for last-minute necessities, cleaning up my room, doing laundry, packing, finishing my self portrait (!!) and tattoo requests, and all that good stuff.

I'll be on and off here today, but after tonight I won't have AIM. And will not be able to get a laptop, unlike I previously thought, until a couple, or a few, weeks from now. :(

However, there is a computer lab in my dorm, so considering how addicted I am to Althanas, I'm sure I'll be making a few trips there. I move in tomorrow, so.....wish me luck. :)

If American college is anything like public universities in Thailand, you'll absolutely love-hate it. :D

Well, have fun anyways! Computer Labs are fun, especially when you have so many downloaded p0rn to delete on a daily basis. :p

Good Luck. As for a Laptop, I don't know where a Cheap one is, but I know where a super expensive top of the line bleeding edge loaded with more features than even a super copmputer nerd needs laptop is. I admit that probably doesn't help you much, but all the same I know where one is.

At least you got the paper work done.

Check ebay. I just bought a used Toshiba laptop that was $180 from someone called relcompaid, and they had even cheaper ones for $150. The $180 one came with a 13" screen and a DVD player, and though it isn't the fastest in the world, it's functional.

Thanks guys. :)

Yeah, ebay could be good...I dunno, I jsut don't usually trust buying stuff off the internet. I'm paranoid like that. I'll try it anyway.

Okay, guys, double post, but...

I am up at college and loving every minute of it.
Even better, this weekend my dad and I are laptop-shopping again, and hopefully I will come back here Monday with a new link to Althanas. I still won't be frequent - but when have I ever? - because of homework, but I want very much to post again.

Here's to hoping more!
