'ello there. Some of you might remember me. And some of those might remember how, in the past year, I've twice made 'Intro/Outro' threads announcing my return, before pretty much failing to really do so. So, I think I'll be side-stepping that for the moment and just making a new thread. If and when it gets finished, then I'll feel confident I can actually return and do things around here. Here's hoping that pans out.

If you'd like to help, the quest under consideration is here (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=7030). I know it's kinda long, probably more than it needs to be, so here's the gist:

Jannin goes artifact hunting with adventurers who know what they're doing. Huh.
Jannin and co. find artifact called Stone of Scribes. Yay!
Jannin touches artifact and Stone goes boom. Boo!
Fellow adventurer isn't happy and discretely hexes Jannin. Mean!
Jannin wakes up in inn and finds he can't talk. Sad!
Three weeks go by. Chronoriffic!

So, yeah. I currently think the little guy'll be seeking another obscure magic object: the Goblet of Dulcet Tones. Should one drink a liquid from it, a la the Holy Grail in that Indiana Jones movie, it's supposed to heal any problems with one's voice, as well as make it more resistant to future problems, and, as the name suggests, generally give the drinker a more melodious tone. While I doubt anyone would mind any of these things, I doubt too many on Althanas would be falling over themselves for it. Of course, people heavily invested in song magic notwithstanding; they might be interested in getting a little more out of their spells with this. No idea if the judge will let that fly, though.

And that's it. If you're at all interested in going a'questing with me, you've got all of Friday, part or all of Saturday, and possibly Sunday to let me know, along with your character's reason for coming along. Sometime over the weekend, I'll pick the ones I like most, and then we can talk a little and get this baby rolling. Also, be aware that the artifact doesn't have to be involved; it's just an idea I had that I may have flushed out a little too well. So, if you don't like, feel free to suggest something else.

And the kinda vague open period has less to do with laziness, and more to do with my mouth's army losing its four youngest soldiers tomorrow to the likes of the Poker, the Scraper, and the Gouger. Yep, my wisdom teeth are coming out, so I have no clue how long until I'll be both coherent and not in blinding pain. Why not just wait until after recovery? Because, let's be honest, if I don't do this now, when the hell am I gonna?

Wellp, I've babbled entirely too long. I had fun writing most of this, and I very much look forward to finally getting back on the scene. I really missed this place, and hope I'll finally be able to stick with it again. So... Off to sleep I go! Wouldn't want to be tired for the coming drug coma. Great to be back, Althanas!

Hmm...If you're character could meet me early on, he'd be easy to befriend, due to your characters age. Consider me in if our characters are to meet, granted, dragging him along won't be difficult, but it'll require some sort of reason. And hey, I can use this as an excuse to widen his vocabulary, instead of becoming sweeter in tone. After all, his weak vocabulary would definately be a 'problem'. So I can see this being of weak advantage, but a character advancement that needs to happen sooner or later.

Huh. Yesterday, I was thinking I probably should have just made this quest with one other person, so that things would go by a little faster. ^_^o Guess I lucked out, there.

Even better, I remember reading your profile about a week ago and thinking, "If I go back to Althanas someday, doing something with that guy might be fun." So, no complaints on my angle with the way things turned out. I'll be looking forward to this.

Anyway, onto the specifics. Hmm... I can't think of too good a reason off the top of my head for Kially to help Jannin out. Since your kid's finances seem pretty far in the red after that snazzy new ribbon, my little guy could always be hiring him. We should probably talk that over more, though; doesn't feel personal enough.

Also, I'm curious: how literate is Kially in Common/Tradespeak? If he can't read a word, that's fine; just means Jannin will be playing charades a little more than expected. And maybe he'll learn to read by the time the quest is done. Or have just started learning before the main quest begins, if we say the two met up during that three-or-so-week period.

So, just get in touch with me when you're up to it and we'll talk things over a little more thoroughly. Would you rather we use this thread for that, go with PMs, or use AIM? Whichever way, I'll be looking forward to hearing from you.
