The night was young and Jayko was ready to enjoy it. It was her first night in the past and she was going to enjoy it for now she could drink the taboo mystery of alcohol and in Underwood and the original Peaceful Promenade as well! In her time there was several copies of the Peaceful Promenade that were like it in name only. Here she was in the world famous tavern and have her first drink there.
Jayko smiled as she walked to the great oaken doors of the tavern and stood for a second to bring herself the courage to walk in. It wasn't easy as her thoughts kept screaming 'What if I'm still to young, what if I drink too much and make myself a fool, what if someone tries to touch me?' The kitty girl shook her head and went in.
Probably the first thing that hit the little lady was the smell, not overly unpleasant even though there was an abundance of pipe smoke in the air making her cough and flip her tail. The sounds were more pleasant, the sounds of laughter and revelry echoed as a drunken bard sung of a tryst with an elfin maiden. Jayko smiled and went to the bar with a purpose.
"'Ello lassie!" A cheerful dwarf glanced at Jayko's eyes and tad bit lower. He had a long bushy beard and a smile of a good nature that put Jayko a little at ease.
"Hi!" Jayko smiled back but a little nervous.
"Hmm, strange outfit, Elfin style?" The dwarf asked and Jayko blushed a bit. "'ey don' worry lass. I kinda like it, really shows ye curves." That caused Jayko to blush even deeper and have trouble. "Sorry, so what do ye want?"
"Umm something that tastes good." Jayko said after pause and nibbling absently on her pinky.
"Ha I know wha' ye want." The dwarven keep went and poured a pinkish drink. "It's an elfin wine with some various juices. Don' think ye should start on the real drink, not lookin' up for it."
"Um..." Jayko started, she was a bit embarrassed and wasn't sure if she liked being called a wus like that. "I'm more up to it than you think."
"Alright, fine. Ye win." The dwarf smiled and placed down some true dwarven ale.
"Thanks." Jayko smiled with victory and sipped from the mug that was handed to her. The future girl felt fire race down her breast and her tongue stuck out hoping to cool itself off and she whined.
"Bwahaha." The dwarf laughed, causing the kitty girl to sink low in shame. "How about ye get what I recommended for free."
"Umm... okay" Jayko agreed still feeling embarrassed. She messed up on her first time.
