Alright, kids, here's the deal.
For about five years, myself and two friends of mine have written our own RPs. But it's not the kind of roleplay you see around here. It's a sort of freestyle, script-form RP. We write it in an AIM chatroom, keeping OOC comments in parenthesis and oftentimes coming up with the next plot on the spot, unless the plan has been preconceived. The three of us play multiple characters, but in a story that focuses on (usually) four main characters.
Here is an example from a somewhat recent session. I played Lissa, one friend played Trey and Ryan (who is female, by the by), and our busy friend was Sloane.
Bandits: *running all over the place grabbing weapons* THE GYPSIES ARE BACK!! GET 'EM!! Don't let them get the LOOT!!
Gypsies: *runing rampant! *doing that cool ululating thing in their throats too because I said so*
Sloane: ....the fuck?
Ryan: ....I hate it here.
Bandit: *runs past the prisoners, fleeing for his life!*
Lissa: ....Damnit, I wanted to kick his ass.
Trey: Hey, Lissa, we have an opportunity to escape, here.
Sloane: Escape. What a concept.
Lissa: Yeah, I know, I'm just bitter. *grump* *frees some of the ropes* Got some!
Trey: Okay, now untie us!
Sloane: *watching the doom and destruction* Take your time. No hurry. Really. Death and destruction is still a few feet away. Plenty of time.
Lissa: Shut up or I'll leave you here. *shakes herself free and then starts untying the peoples*
Trey: *she unties him first DUH*
Sloane: *waits for his turn* *he knows he's gonna be last*
Gypsies: *fighting off the remaining bandits and stuff* *grabbing the loot and loading it onto their cart*
Trey: My sword!
Sloane: My shirt!
Lissa: *yeah, duh, Trey first, then Ryan* *looks at Sloane* ....I kind of like you better this way.
Ryan: I do too.
Sloane: Fuck you both! Trey, untie me!!
Ryan: Let's keep him tied up a little longer. He's all helpless. It's funny!
Lissa: I like that idea.
Sloane: I never knew you two were into bondage.
Ryan: Too bad he can still talk.
Sloane: You think this is kinky, huh? Getting all hot and flustered are ya?
Lissa: Don't flatter yourself, Shirt Boy.
Sloane: Just untie me dammit!!
So, as you can see, it's in an extremely different style from Althanas' style. It's always in a fantasy setting, though the characters always deviate from typical medieval attitudes. It's also rather raunchy, what we write.
Most importantly, it's fun.
Problem is, one of the friends has no time for it anymore. I'm not even sure how much time myself and my other friend will have come September, but both of us would very much like to continue this form of roleplay. We'd be starting from scratch and coming up with a new plotline, new characters, the whole bit. It doesn't need to be anything elaborate - we spend half the time satirizing typical fantasy books and movies anyhow.
I'm not at all leaving Althanas for this roleplay - in fact I'm almost done with my posts now - but I would love to know if anyone is interested in joining us. We need only one more person, though two may be acceptable. The person has to be a fast typer, limited typos - sorry, it just makes it easier - willing to make fun of themselves and cliches/stereotypes, and, of course, you gotta have fun doing it. :)
Post here if your attention has been caught, and I'll discuss it with my friend.
