Corone was terribly noisy, when compared to Salvar, though the weather was a lot more favorable. Ren had spent the previous night before sleeping soundly, and happily in open air under a tree, for the first time in a long time sleeping without his coat on and waking up to his drool frozen to his cheek. He had, however, been awoken the terrible sound of storming hoofbeats as a long caravan passed his resting place, in an obvious rush to make it into town, possibly for breakfast. Grumpy, and with eyes ringed with dark circles, Ren had risen and trudged into the bazaar, dragging his mace on the ground behind him, the spikes skipping and hopping on the cobblestones of the street.
The morning light was glaring brightly through the open windows of the first blacksmith's shop he decided to turn into. Scowling, he flopped his free arm over his head, blocking the light from his eyes, and walked up to the counter, lifting the morning star into the air.
"I want this uhm. Upgraded? Yeah. I want this upgraded into dehlar, please." Grunting, he spung his shoulder and let the mace fall onto the counter with a loud thump; though it did no permanent damage to the counter, the loud noise was surely irritating for being so early.

Elena stared irrirated at the man that entered the shop so early in the morning. James owes me, for this. I hate getting up this early in the morning. Elena thought sourly to herself as she walked up to the far side of the counter.
Picking up the morning star she inspected its dimensions. Absently she tossed her head to move the fringe of black and red hair out of her eyes as she jotted down the specifics of the weapon.
"Morning there. I'm Elena. I'm afraid John will be out for a bit, a small problem at home I think it is. Now, you said you want to up grade your weapon to dehlar." Elena wandered down the counter until she found a thick book.
"Excuse the delay, I'm not the normal shop keeper. I'm just here as a favor" Elena muttered just loud enough for the man to hear as she flipped through the book. After several minutes of search she found the page she was looking for.
"Did you want to upgrade the whole thing or just the spikes? To up grade the entire weapon it will be 1100 for dehlar. To alter only the spikes would be 450." Elena winched at the prices and closed the book.
"The decision is yours, sir."

"Piss!" Ren moaned loudly as he slapped a hand to the side of his face, groaning loudly. Humans were irrational creatures, from his observations; and they seemed to be in the same practice of their daily lives as they were their business. With the temper of a child, the Dör lurched forward and grabbed the haft of the morning star with a limp arm and dragged it off the counter, using his other arm to adjust his rumpled, unbuttoned coat, oblivious to the fact that his own mace nearly shattered his kneecap as it fell off the counter, swinging lazily beside him.
"I ain't got that much, lady," he grumbled gloomily, turning away from her. "Well, I do for the spikes, but I ain't got this thing for the sharp parts. I got it so when I hit people in the head, blood comes out their ears." Ren groaned again, slowly shuffling across the floor, his eyes glancing about lazily -- and then he paused.
Set against the western wall was a wide looking sword with saw like serrations running all the way down it's blade. No tip existed to it; it was solely to be used for slashing and chopping. The disappointment that had dominated his face vanished in an instant, and he was as cheery as the yellow beams of the sun as he moved across the shop towards the brutal weapon.
"It's got a blade like my teeth!" He grinned widely, displaying exactly what he meant; pointed teeth filled his mouth, glinting in the morning light. The Dör reached up and lifted the blade off it's mountings, and turned back Elena.
"I found something else! How much for this thing? It's gonna take a lot of time to build up the money for the dehlar, but I like this thing." Ren didn't bother approaching her; he simply held the wide bladed steel sword out before him.

Elena found herself openeing her mouth to warn the guy when he pulled his weapon from the counter. The near collision of the morning star and his knee had her flinching. The image of what would have happened if the morning star had connected rose up in Elena's mind. Shaking her head, she pushed the image aside and watched the man start to leave.
She watched as he turned back and walked over to the swords displayed. Raising a brow at the man's choice of blade, Elena smiled. She pulled out a inventory price list from a shelf below the counter.
"Interesting blade isn't it? That sword is 300 gold."

"Really? Really?" The Dör could barely contain his excitement; the blade was shaking in his arms It was nearly as tall as he was, some four feet long, but he held it like one would a child, and with little problem at that. Ren's long fingers fumbled at the mouth of his pocket, before he managed to produce a voucher with an official looking stamp, and jogged up to the counter, dropping it down.
"That's exactly how much this is for," he said around the blade, which he was clutching tightly to his chest to keep it from clattering to the ground. Grabbing the hilt tightly, he grunted softly as he lifted the sword up, then finally set it comfortably against his shoulder. A moment later he shrugged, and frowned as he patted his chest, his hand thumping against the ring mail.
"I don't think I can carry this everywhere I go in one hand. People'll think I'm some kind of uncivilized barbarian," he grumbled, unaware that as he did so he licked at his sharp teeth, perhaps giving the woman the absolute correct impression that she needed. "Uh, one more thing before I leave. Do you maybe have some kind of sheath or sling for this thing, that I could buy?"

Elena looked at the voucher and raised a brow. Only the official seal on it kept her from protesting its use. Paper money, now I know the world is going to hell. Shaking her head slightly she put the voucher away.
"A sling of some sort for the blade..." Elena's voice drifted off as she smiled slightly back at him, unimpressed with his mouthful of pointy teeth. She walked over to a shelf laden with different types of leather sheaths. After carefully picking through the pile she muttered in annoyance. Elena began tossing the leather to the floor after she inspected each one.
"Oh come on, James has to have made something for that sword." Elena muttered to herself. On the very bottom of the pile she found a strange looking sheath.
"What on earth? Oh! I think this may be it." She said as she held it up, turning around to face Ren she visually measured the sword to the sheath she held. Holding the sheath out by the wide strap she waved Ren over.
"If it fits take it. The sheath for it is no charge. A monster like that has to have a sheath, otherwise it would become to cumbersome too carry around." Elena smiled widely enough to flash a hint of fang.

That the woman showed a glint of fang barely registered to the Dör. Human beings were just as foolish as they were illogical; he could fleetingly recall a man who had visited Doctor Yrastid looking for a way to chemically induce vampirism. He had been blindly relentless in his quest for the corruption, even going so far as to have fangs surgically implanted. That man had intruded upon Ren's chambers as he waited for word from the Doctor, and the Dör had smashed his hand into a bloody pulp.
"Oooh, really?" He reached out and took the sheath from her, the manners of society absent from his motions, and threw it over his head, thrusting an arm through the loop. It was a little loose, but it would work well for Ren. Smiling, birght eyed, he slid the large saw home, and began to backpedal towards the door.
"Thanks lady! Sorry you had to do all that stupid math so early! I'll be back for the dehlar!" The last words, however, were incredibly hard to comprehend, as they had faded into the rabble of the window shoppers, just as he had.

Thread complete Berserk losses the 300gp voucher and gains a very odd steel sword as well as 100 EXP for IC interactions.
