Art by Kricket

Yea, that's me. ^_^ Like quite a few people on Althanas, I'm an artist, and although I'm not as good as some (Ciel makes me so jealous), I have a pretty fair hand when it comes to drawing. And, like so many here, I decided to lend my skills and draw up some character sketches for those interested in my work. For the most part, I work with pencils, as I like the control and the detail I can achieve with them. I also work a bit with charcoal, watercolor, ink, and, when possible, computer programs such as Photoshop and Correl Painter.

Unfortunately, due to a lack of materials and an even greater lack of money, I am not able to work in color. All my expensive art supplies were destroyed two years back, along with my computer with all my nifty art programs and all associated disks. After all that time, I still don't have the funds to obtain much more than some graphite pencils, which just sucks. (Bills and all...) So, until I can get the supplies that I need, if you want a drawing from me it will have to be old black and white. Or, rather, gray and white... Pencils, you know.

For those interested, I am best at drawing women, animals, dragons, weres, and furs. However, I can draw most anything, it just takes a little longer than usual. However, I can't draw things like vehicles, buildings, etc., very well. If it's not organic, I just can't render it. *Shrug*

Examples
Here are a few examples of my work. Keep in mind that all this is very old, with the newest one having been drawn about four months ago, and before that the newest was done in '05. However, I will add a few new works here soon. I just have to go through my sketches and decide which ones I can bare showing to the rest of you without embarrassing myself.

Sketches
The Kneeling Woman (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/FallingLikeRain/KneelingWoman.jpg)
An attempt at a different style of drawing that I eventually adopted as my standard. A color version of this exists somewhere, but I can't find it... It saddens me. She's so pretty in blue.

Squirrely (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/FallingLikeRain/FursonaMe.jpg)
Me as a furry squirrel. Don't ask... >_> My step-daughter is forever telling me I look like one. So here I am as a fur. Don't mind the hands, which are a bit retarded.

Feathers and Leather (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/FallingLikeRain/FeathersAndLeather.jpg)
And very little of either. I love this chick. ^^ Don't mind all the blue blurriness. This is the original sketch on notebook paper, which suffered mild damage when my house was flooded. I'm amazed it's in such good quality.

Earth Dragon (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/FallingLikeRain/EarthDragon.jpg)
Because I adore dragons, and this one came out great. I just never got around to finishing him...

Graphite
Uhh...err? (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/FallingLikeRain/PoliticalBurden.jpg)
I don't know what this thing is, but, no, it is most definitely not Watto from Star Wars Episode I. I just draw things like this, starting from the eyes and moving outward. I have pages upon pages of odd creatures like it.

Bondage (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/FallingLikeRain/Bondage.jpg)
My most hit drawing on DeviantArt. Post a drawing of a half naked woman, and I guess that's what you get. So, with that in mind, if you're underage or don't like nudity, don't look at this one. If you do, then enjoy! xD

Colored Pencil
Red Dragon (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/FallingLikeRain/RedDragon.png)
I told you I love dragons. Don't mind the anatomy on this fella, I know it's terrible. It was just a test to see how my colored pencils worked. They were quite an investment, one that I no longer possess, which is sad.

Weres and Water (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/FallingLikeRain/Mates.png)
yet another original title... I have a love for werewolves, and for Christy Grandjean art, and this is a tribute to both.

Horde Dragon (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v623/FallingLikeRain/HordeDragon.png)
The last dragon, I promise. I just love him. ^_^ This is probably my best work thus far.

Orders
For the moment, I'm just collecting orders and putting them on a list. When I come to a name, I'll PM the person and asks for specifics, such as the character to be drawn, gender, dimensions, pose, etc. If you have references available to help me along (I'm a very visual person and pictures often help me get an idea as to what you want), I'll ask you to gather those up and include them so that I can best depict your character.

I should be able to begin work on the drawings sometime on Monday. I know I said tomorrow (Friday), originally, but I just had this spur of the moment commission slapped on me, and it has to be done ASAP. Sorry folks, but it's for a friend who suddenly decided he must have a tattoo of Anubis on his leg, and far be it from me to deny him when he's flaunting some cash in my face. I'm such a whore, I know. xD

Edit: Actually, I got the picture done within two hours, a rarity for me. So, I'm going to start work on the list. ^_^

Currently working on the drawing for Artifex Felicis.

Those waiting:
Atzar Kellon (Zirkan and Ennai)
Kially Gaith

I agree that the last dragon is the best.. Very nice, the shading is awesome.

Very very spiffy stuff. I likes it a lot to say the least.

*considers asking for picture*

Seriously though, I'm terribly jealous of your dragons. They annoy me so, looking like dragons and not pathetic attempts at circles.

Thanks, guys. ^_^ I'm glad you like my work.

Artifiex, you have no idea how long it took me to be able to draw dragons like that. Don't let those examples fool you, though. Those were all drawn on my rare "good drawing" days. At any other time they come out looking like really scaley horses wth wings.

Oh, and if any one wants a picture from me, I'd be happy to draw up a few once I get the reference sheet finished on Kaia. Unfortunately, all I can do are uncolored sketches. I don't have my colored pencils any more, and I don't have $150 to spare to buy new ones right now. And computer generated art from me is just pathetic without a tablet.

Ooh... I might take you up on that, if you're willing. Your dragons look awesome, and I'd love to have a picture of Zirkan or Ennai (they're pygmy dragons).

I'll take one when you're done no matter what. Colored or no. Take all the time in the world. I have two chars I'd like to see drawn, and either would be awesome.

Animals in general annoy me when they get beyond "cave man" simplicity. I admire them even if they were scaley horses.

Ooooh...Add me to the list please? I'd love to see a visual representation of Kially!

Great stuff, if I jotted my name down for a request it would have to be for the Blazen Dragon, Cor and Soks beastial nemesis.

Big blurdy thing, that'd be pretty awesome.

Whenever you get a chance, would you mind doing this character, too?

All right, here's the list so far. I'll add this to the first post in a moment, that way folks don't have to go through all the pages to see where they are on the list.

Artifex Felicis
Atzar Kellon (Zirkan and Ennai)
Kially Gaith
Covus MacCallum (the Blazen Dragon)
Seraphima

I should be able to get to work on these sometime tomorrow. I'll PM people as I get to them so that I can get the particulars. If you have any references, go ahead and get those on hand.

When I'm in one of my drawing streaks, I can go pretty fast. But, as a warning, those streaks are short-lived before I have to slow down, so it might take a while to get to some of these. I hope no one minds.

I wish I had artsy talents. But nope, i'm not. Sadly my only skill would be creating cool characters. So until I can put that to use, you wouldn't mind drawing Damas, wouldja? I believe all the details can be found in the profile...

I'm honoured you've considered me! Thank you! ^_^

I want you to draw Rahegalhoff's pic, but only after he's reached level 5. You'll see why...

Good job with your drawings. I honestly have to say I believe your "kinky bondage" one is your best work, simply because not only did you do an actual person but the expression on her face was one of the greatest i've ever seen drawn. As I do nude pics myself, I admire it when others do it well and not just pornograhic pictures of anime girls. Keep up the good work!

Sadly to say I do not have a scanner at home, so I cannot put my pics online.

*raises hand* U-U HERE! HEY! ME! here!

Like you I am also an artist... but I havent had any "good drawing days" (I know what you mean) and I cant really put myseld to draw something that's going to take to long. unless I have something to draft from, so I guess I am not that much of a visual artis. ANYWHO, I would like to request a drawing of my character, PM me when you have the time so I can give you the specifics, you can look at the profile link for some previous reference. ^_^
