It was a dark and stormy day, lightning flickered and thunder growled. It was not a pleasant day for most folks, unless one enjoyed this sort of weather.

The wet man that entered the shop certainly didn't seem to enjoy it. As he entered, a bright flash of lightning seemed to strike nearby, and thunder shook the area.

"Lousy weather. I finally make it out to see the famous citadel and it has to rain on me. Stupid sky never could cooperate, not in all my father's 78 years of farming, and certainly not in the seven years I farmed." The man said, grumbling to himself.

He wore a plain brown monks robe, and had a sword belted to his side.

He looked around the shop, and if one looked, one could see a deep emotional wound in his eyes, a horrible tragedy that he had not recovered from.

He was in an armor shop, it seemed the most likely place to go for defensive wear, and indeed, this shop had plenty to offer. The man stopped and looked wistfully at a suit of Mythril Plate Mail that was proudly displayed towards the back, truely a masterful work of art. The Blacksmith who made it certainly knew what they were doing. However, the armor was well beyond what he could pay.

He joined a few other Patrons in the cheaper sections of the store.

He looked at a Mythril Kite Shield, again, truely a master Blacksmith had made it, probably the same one that had made the Plate Mail.

With another sigh he turned to a suit of studded leather, it was probably the best he was going to be able to get, maybe he could find a good shield too at a reasonable price.

He picked up the suit of studded leather, and brought it up to the counter.

"How much for this suit?" He asked.

Elena looked up as the chime of a bell let her know that another customer had entered. Grumbling to herself about dead stretches then sudden overflows of customers she stood up behind the counter and waited politely for the normal questions and items.

"Good afternoon, I'm Elena.' A quick examination of the suit told her what she needed to know. "This suit will cost you 250 gold. Is there anything else I can help you find today?"

"What about a shield? Not some wooden child's toy mind you, but a real shield, possibly steel, or better. Something that can take a real beating. Lovely Mythril Shield by the way, did you make it yourself?" Rahegalhoff asked.

"No, I'm afraid I didn't make the shield. Either items are imported or our blacksmith, Williem, makes them. My only contribution is making the chain mail and to stand here selling items. Oh, and looking lovely while doing so, or so Williem tells me." Elena smiled ruefully and looked down at her slender, uncallused white hands.

"Now, you asked for a shield. Did you have any idea if you wanted a small shield or a large one or perhaps a tower shield. Would there be any spikes, sigils or what not on them?"

Rounding the counter she in a swirling mass of red silk, she led the man over to the the section holding most of their stockpiled shield.

"Williem can add anything you want to a preexisting shield or create one. Creating one will be a little more expensive. The base price small shield is 50 gold, a large shield is 70 and a tower is 75. Any additions are extra charges."

"I have 250 gold to spend on a shield, Maybe on with some special property, like one that can deflect magic or something, maybe made of something better than Steel.

Unable to help herself Elena chuckled at his request. Waving a hand in apology she forced her mirth aside.

"Enchantments can not be done in this shop sir. Not to mention they are very pricy things. You'd be looking in the range of some where between a thousand up to two thousand gold for a enchantment. Now, as for other metals that would deflect magic that would be dehlar. Its a very heavy brown metal that is highly resistant to magic. The charge for that would be 500 gold."

"I see. I hope you'll understand, I'm used to shopping for farming implements and more peaceful endeavors. I will get him though. I will get him and make him suffer for taking my family away from me. I will roast him over over a bonfire and strip him of his flesh with a dull rusty knife. I will inflict tortures on him so brutal the words simply do not exist to explain them." He said, holding his sword tightly. Then he seemed to remember he was in a shop and came back to his senses. His hair, his eyes, they had turned white and grey for a moment.

"So anyways, what about a Steel Kite Shield, possibly with spikes embedded in it incase I have to bash some sense into someone with it? If not Kite, than some other large shield." He said.

OOC EDIT: I'm thinking of a shield similar to the one in my profile pic, only with spikes all over the front to deal extra damage incase of a shield bashing.

Elena opened her mouth to reassure that guy that it was fine asking for prices. The words of vengeance and the man's change in appearance had her step back. For a moment she wondered if he was insane or possibily possessed. Elena took another step back, looking towards the back room where the tops of two heads.

Elena made a small gesture at the her two guardians letting them know everything was fine for the moment. She sighed as they drew back. Once the man seemed normal enough she selected a large shield and looked down at it.

"I think ten to eleven spikes should be plenty. Spread out over the shield, the entire thing would be protected by that many spikes." Elena looked up, giving the man a questioning look about his thoughts.

Rahegalhoff paused to think.

"Sounds fine to me. What then is the grand total?" Rahegalhoff asked.

Elena smiled at the man for a moment.

"The grand total comes up to 500 gold exactly. If you'll leave the shield here with me. Williem can alter the shield in a day. You can leave half of the gold hear now and pay the rest when you come for the shield."

Just split your post for the day wait thing. No need to actually wait a full day.^^

Rahegalhoff nodded, and payed 250, taking the leather Armor with him, since it also cost half the money he had to pay and thus he had just payed for it, he left.

The next day Rahegalhoff came back, it was still raining, though not as heavily.

He was wearing his Studded Leather Armor, and now he looked like a trained warrior.

"I'm back for my shield?" He asked.

Elena took the half of the payment and put it in the stores strong box. Politely she waved as the man left. Good grief that was a odd one.

"What was up with that sudden change?" Elena muttered to herself.

"I agree, very odd man." Elena jumped at the quiet voice beside her. Glaring, she noticed that the two women flanked her on both sides.

"I don't think he's coming back today. I think I'm safe for now. Besides, when are you two going to return to the Moontae and leave me alone?" Elena huffed when she received twin smirks and silence.

A day later.

Elena stood behind the counter, near her feet in the corner lay the completed shield wrapped in cloth. Bored with the lack of customers she let her thoughts drift aimlessly.

The sudden appearance of yesterday's customer and his question startled her out of her thoughts. Elena nodded a polite greeting to the man. She lifted the shield up onto the counter and unwrapped it.

Rahegalhoff picked up the shield, tested it a few times, and seemed satisfied. He left the rest of the money on the counter.

"Many thanks." He said. He moved to the door.

"Can it please stop raining, just for a little while?" Rahegalhoff asked out loud to no one in particular.

Just by chance at that exact moment it stopped raining and the clouds broke, letting a shaft of sunlight shine down upon Rahegalhoff.

"That was, weird. Maybe I should've asked for something else, like a heavy warhorse." He said with a grin.

His hair turned white and his eyes turned Grey again.

"See you around." He said with an unsettling grin as he left the shop.

Elena shook her head, she refused to wonder about the odd people that came into the counter. Sweeping the coins into a pouch Elena decided it might be a good idea to close the shop early for the day.
