My grandfather ((basically my father in all senses of the word)), just got diagnosed with cancer this morning. So any of you who pray or anything like that, throw some out for him.

Thanks.

I'll pray to mother Earth for ya, probably not what you want, I guess, and if not, my thoughts go out to him.

Keep fighting on, we're all with you.

Then that I shall do. If you need ANYTHING at all within possible limits, PM me, whether it be a listening ear or help in something, I'm here.

My Grandmother got diagnosed with cancer once. When we informed her church, they all got together one saturday, and the entirety of the church, every man woman and child that went to that church prayed for her well being. It was 3:00 in the afternoon. At that same moment, my Grandmother said she felt a giant hand holding her, and everything just felt better. This was in the hospital too. The very next day the docters had some routine tests run they had scheduled anyway, and were utterly astounded to find that her cancer was completly gone, without any trace or reasonable scientific explaination as to why and or how. It was in short, a Miracle/Act of God.

Prayer works, and I will pray for him. I may not have the combined spiritual umph of a church, but even a single candle in the darkness can light the way.

To add to that...

I've been involved with prayer groups, prayer nights, so on and so forth...I can tell you from experience that if any one thing I've been involved with has had the most powerful outcomes and influences, it's prayer.

While, just like Xos, I may not be a huge praying church, I will be in prayer. I can assure you, from my experiences, God can move and can heal. He is at work today. Now, some will say that it's my imagination, science, or my own desire to see things change and that's why stuff happens, but I have to say that if any of that were true, I would not be where I am today.

Just trust. Having faith is more than just believing, it's trusting that He will do what He says He will do.

For more on this...PM or email me.

We'd like to avoid religious debate here, so please, keep all religious questions or comments that are addressed to anyone in particular to PMs. Thank you.

I'm by no means a spiritual man, but I'll keep him in my thoughts.

Cancer sucks, my grandfather had it as well. They caught it in the nick of time (read: by accident), so they were able to operate and remove the tumor before any lasting damage happened.

Wow, I'm sorry man. Good luck with all that. I'm not a religious man in general, but have.. other belief's. I'll keep her in mind anyway.

Side Note: About prayer, I used to be religious, and read the Bible alot. It says when two or more are gathered then He is with you. And gathered doesn't mean with each other, but in thoughts and prayers. Hope that works out...

My father got diagnosed with cancer once. He was a preacher and by far the best man I ever knew. He believed and had faith and prayed, as we all did and as did his congregation and as did other churches. He died from cancer. God must've forgotten to turn up the volume on his hearing aid.

I hope your grandfather gets better Xilium, but just in case the prayers fizzle, try spending as much time with him as possible.

Oh I know how it goes Letho, as I said I'm not the biggest prayer buff myself, but I guess you just take what you can get in these kinds of situations.

My grandma had cancer too. She was like a mother to me, raising my siblings and myself for about a year. One day, all of the sudden, she was in the hospital though I was told that she was getting better. She died without warning during her sleep for reasons completely unrelated to the cancer. I only visited her once and I've been angry with myself ever since for not spending more time with her.

What I'm trying to say, and Letho already said it, is that you should spend as much time as you can with him.

I'm not much of a praying person myself, but I've said a few for your grandfather and will continue to pray for him.
