Is this encouraged or discouraged? I can't figure out which.

I think if you have the time for it and it's not detracting from any other aspects of your life, say, college for instance, then more power to ya'.

Sweet. But i'd like to hear more opinions. Anybody?

'Kay, dumb question from the peanut gallery. What's power posting?

I'm gonna assume that power posting means one of two things.
Posting in like 20 threads at once for battles/quests. I don't think that is really frowned upon unless you don't keep up with what you start.Though I have to say, taking only 3-4 threads and posting more advanced writing is the way to really get better at Rping in general.
Power posting can also mean the constant posting that Seth does in the OCC threads, which is a hit or miss. Sometimes it's good, like if you post your opinion of lots of things, but sometimes it becomes well...annoying when you post like 200 times in one thread. But that could just be my personal opinon.

Posting so often that it's done to the point of rediculousness. Take for example, the OOC thread "Say something nice." I could, if I chose to, post after everysingle person, and thus people would only be able to say something nice about me. Of course I choose not to, as that would ruin the fun of the thread. In IC threads, its probably posting so often that people find it hard to "keep up with the pace". Do you get what i'm saying?
Oops, you already responded Xilium. So, whatever makes more sense to you.

Well I would say it's a bit frowned upon for at least me. I mean I have nothing against posting alot for fun, but when it gets to that it's ridiculous and almost ruins the point of the thread.

I'm trying not to post as much. It's just "boredom is a poison", if you know what I mean. ^^
That's why I do the "skip me" thing every other post on "Say SN"

lol You really need to give me some of your free time, Seth. I could definitely use those to juggle Mod Duties and College Classes here on my end.
I think that taking things in moderation is the best cure for your boredom right now. Powerposting IC stories could derail the quality of your thread (unless you're one of those geniuses who can pull a JC out of your backside) and in OOC threads it would be pretty annoying to other members if you keep on posting irrelevent stuff.
Therefore, I would not really think you should go down the Power Posting road here or anywhere. It'll save your sanity as well. :p
Hosting quests, on the other hand, could really draw in a crowd. How is that coming for ya? :)
I'll personally end your life for power posting. Not prolonging nor procreating, but p-ending your life by penguin.
Purposefully.
P-soon.

*screams in mock agony* OH THE HORROR! NOT THE PENGUINSSSS!!!!
Right now I wanna finish a quest called "Hunting Job" -- the spoils that I request in that one are quite important to my character development and storyline. I don't wanna break the rules and start using my spoils in other quests without having a mod consent to giving them first, although they are not that big of a deal.
I would host more quests, but like I said about the spoils. Right now the only other thing I dare to do is rp in the peacful promenade, where I don't think i'll be doing battle anytime soon. Btw, if I completely change my character's appearence (one of the spoils), would that constitute to being reason enough to update my entire profile?

Changes in the Inventory generally doesn't require you to make a Mid-Level Update. If details on your appearance, new skills (1-2 new ones) or even new details added into your other fields asides from Inventory... Yes.
What is that spoil you are referring to, anyways? :)

Two of them. One, a trenchcoat that mysteriously appears on Ifrit during one battle and changes his appearence from that of a ferocious demon to a dark youth, maybe 19 at the oldest. Look at my avatar for resemblance.
The other was the one I was mostly questioning on whether or not to update my profile. The Amaterasu technique, or translated directly from Japanese: Shining Heaven. Kind of like Naruto's Rasengan, it has 3 stages, but Ifrit can barely touch the first stage at this point, which is sort of like the uncontrolled version of Rasengan. Plus, it drains probalby about 85 % of his energy, which is a huge detrement at this point. More importantly its for his character development, as he struggles to seek what he truly is.

Dude, I just realized that Profile Pic is sooo Ichigo from Bleach. XD
Anyways, I think that's justification enough to make a Mid-Level Update. But, of course, you'll need the aforementioned threads to be judged first. Then, run it through with the RoG Staff for power balances.
Remember to include all your acquired skills/abilities/power-altering items and all that jazz in the update as well.
Rule of thumb: Be Original! :D

Okay, thanks. ^^ And yeah I got that pic off of Deviant art. I was thinking of inverting the color, but decidedthat it looked better as it was. I was right.

I am actually on like ALL day long, but I tend to keep busy with my solo and such, which I spent 6 hours on typing yesterday. But now i'm done. I don't think i'll make a mid-level update till the second one is done, or depending on how the first one does, say, exp-wise.

Yeah. Nice job with it, again. Your character is a true mage, not a battle one like mine. ^^ And good job staying true to the Drow way, cause the only drow I can think of who was ever really good was drizz't. I'm not on all day, but when I am on its usually for a bit and I type quite fast so I finish posts quickly.

How dare you diss Izvilvin with that statement. :(
Besides, the real Drow (historically known as Dark Elves) are actually dwarves. >.>
No, really. Go read the non-Salvatore original.

Lol true. Sorry, I haven't heard of said Izvilvin, so I assumed Drizz't was the only really "good" drow. Didn't mean to diss.

I think I've seen an Izvilvin around here somewhere...
Is it the Aleraran Drow belonging to a Cyrus the Virus?
Maybe?

That's the only one I know of. He's cool cuz he doesn't speak Common. Or, he didn't last time I read something of his.

Anyhoo, lets not get off track. if anybody else has some strong opinions on power posting, go ahead and post.

There is one person who ever pulled it off successfully. It's not really frowned on. More or less it's a matter of whether or not you can keep up with it. Quality definately suffers as well.
Back in the day it was a lot easier to pull off with battles. I used to do it, kind of, I suppose. Doing it in quests is harder because unless you are rolling solo, or have another person posting as fast as you it can be impossible to actually go that fast. I can speak from experience though, having even 5-6 battles at a time that all score in the 40-50 range is a sure fire way to net you very little EXP. Hell, I've been in about 70 judged battles and I'm only just about to be level 7. Granted, EXP rewards were far lower for battles before, but I think you get my drift.

Good point. Well, obviously, my posting has slowed down significantly not only because of my FING CAPS LOCK, but also because of the fact that a very significant part of my character has yet to be judged and approved. so everyone, breath a sigh of relief.
(note; i wrote this without crazy lettering very sloooowly...and painfully)
