Bone

The following was found on the dead body of an unrecognizable Corone messenger. The parchment was unmarked, though the corpse had nothing of value left upon it. It was addressed for the rangers of Corone. The name of the person who wrote the message was crossed out, as well as the date it was written and where. The marks of his killer were obvious, severe sword wounds along his chest as well as his face cleaved nearly in two. When examined more closely, his neck was also slit cleanly and effectively. When investigated, the messenger's own weapon was used to cut his body. The weapon itself was found sold to a local merchant for an unknown amount of money.
The letter was later found in Radenseth, where word was quickly spread of it. However, only the more careful eyes noted missing sections in the profile, specifically dealing with the failed assassination attempt.
To his Master General, Emien Harthworth.
Concerning a growing thorn in my own side and a possible worry in yours. This is an account I have detailed over the past several months concerning an assassin who has made himself known. It is of my own opinion he must be watched for. Either to hire for our own to deal with certain pests or to eradicate to prevent any more damage.
Alias(es): Most commonly known as Bone, he has accumulated several other names, Bayonet, The Knife, Red, and Kitten. I have yet to figure out his real name, but his nationality of Salvar is confirmed.
Height: Through my own investigation, I have been able to determine he stands anywhere from 5'7” to 5'9”. It is unlikely that he has disguised this, as he moves too quickly and gracefully to wear shoes the increase his height. His reach is slightly longer then one would expect however.
Weight: I have been unable to pin this down as of yet, but the assassin is slim for his strength. I am confident he couldn't use many heavy weapons without some degree of difficulty. He was seen escaping through a door only barely opened in our closest encounter, and the extra moment saved him from my grasp.
Hair: Thanks to a close strike as well as clothing which matches the strands cut, we know the assassin's hair color of a lusterless black. However, this was only found out after a particularly hard thunderstorm washed away blond dye from the hair. However, the hair extends down to the assassin's neck, hiding any looks at his ears. He is most likely human, though possibly with a magical enhancement. When investigated, it was revealed the dye he used could be bought nearly anywhere in Corone for next to nothing, leaving this a wild goose chase to look into.
Eyes: Unknown as of yet, however I am able to discern they are of a light color, most likely either gray or blue. I have been able to discern that he does not have any notable scarring upon his eyes or the skin nearby.
Clothing and Notable features: Not very surprisingly, the assassin wears black when at night. However, these same cloths change with some amount of regularity. I have seen him on several occasions, and the only constant were his leather pouches. (See 'Weaponry') However, these same clothes appear to only apply at night. The assassin appears to have some mastery of disguise, enough to enter a minor noble's home without suspicion. However, he moves quietly, and almost always uses the same weaponry. However, he was one very notable trait. Behind him, usually not covered by cloth is a very small, black cat's tail. This was from a failed assassination detailed below, and is what gave him the nickname “Kitten.” However, an interesting note is that he has yet to use any poisons as of yet, preferring a strike to a small prick. This is merely a small lead, as we are unable to investigate other countries to see if he has been at work there. He speaks with a somewhat high voice, like he was still a child. This helps my belief he is young and still impressionable.
Weaponry: I have been able to determine the assassin's main tools. These are several in number, and thanks to my own investigations are all correct. However, it should be important to note that he may have more than those listed. He has a total of six blades which he uses with regularity. The first set are two short swords, worn on his legs thanks to two specially made leather sheaths. It appears the same sheaths were purchased in Salvar and the maker deceased. The next two sets are identical. There are two knives designed to be thrown in short distances, and two designed for longer. However, two of them are coated in a non-reflective black paint, and the others in a non reflective dark orange. Initially curious, I later found out to my dismay the orange blades are nearly invisible in twilight or in early morning when the sun is rising. I have no doubts that all of them are made of iron. The two orange blades appear to be hidden in his sleeves and appear when he needs them, while the two blade knives are strapped for easy access to his small tail. Although, minor, it appears he is also equipped with oil and a small blade which can apparently destroy most cheap locks without even a sound. I have investigated the second, and found that it carries an ice enchantment that freezes the lock. When engaged, the same frozen lock would shatter and open the door noiselessly.
Armor: I have found no evidence that would support to him wearing armor. Along with this, he does not wear any jewelry or any metal aside from his blades.
Notable Traits and Warnings, as well as remarks that I have noticed: The assassin is a very physically able man. I have lost track of him several times in chase of him, and he has escape via climbing a rooftop twice. He has more then enough endurance to keep up with most non-magical beings, and enough strength to pull himself up a ledge quickly without any apparent trouble. He is very quick of foot and adept at climbing. He nearly has an instinct for escape, and seems to be able to escape from any situation. Of course, this can also be applied to predicting what would happen and careful analysis. From my own tangles with him, I know that he is skilled with his blades, however not as well as one would think. A skilled swordsman could bring him down easily. He is very good with throwing his weaponry though, and has the knack for staying hidden until the blade is already in his victim. He is a good enough shot to know where to place the dagger when throwing to kill most quickly and quietly. Though, he seems very fond of his weaponry, and often tries to retrieve it. It is of my own professional opinion that we should figure out how to hire this man to kill some of our most annoying thorns or to weed him from the garden. He is certainly skillful enough, with only a single mishap to his name. However, this mishap is also the same item that gives me reason to also suggest terminating with him.
One word of caution, specifically to you my lord. This man seems to walk among the people of an area, and work among them without so much a ripple as he enters. Also, there have been two specific instances where this man did magic. The magic appears to be of the same style, though applied in different ways. It appears to be a form of telekinesis, but much less subtle. It is a powerful, blast of force that seems to be fired from his outstretched hand without a word. It is more then enough to cause someone to pause after being hit if they're prepared for it, but one man I saw come completely off of his feet and onto the ground. There is indirect force as well, the hallmark of an untrained skill and I have every reason to believe he cannot perform it more then once or twice before resting and regaining his energy. I base this off of his slowed reactions after firing it, as if he suddenly had weights attached to his limbs. Beyond this strange ability, Bone has in his possession a pack of cards. Each card signifies a price for a client based on my theory. In addition, a trusted source has revealed that there is a binding spell on each card, acting as an effective contract between client and assassin.
Contact: I have been unable to determine how Bone is contracted. There are numerous theories, even one as outlandish as leaving a cherry pie on a doorstep overnight with the instructions baked inside. As outlandish as these are, there is a small hint to them. He seems to take his job offers in a way different from the norm. Currently the most likely way is simply through a messaging service with cards. Bone would then go to the holder of the card, and they would discuss business in someway. Bone leaves the card somewhere on the body of everyone he has killed so far. I believe that this is merely a message to show his client a kill was indeed done by him. Of course, this is merely theory at this point. Then again, I do not have much to go by at the moment, so I am sticking to it.
