Diary entry #157
Professor Laxton

Success! The experiment was a success! We have finally created it, our “weapon”...just as he described it. The thing is a work of beauty...it is shocking that something so beautiful could be so deadly.
However, we have not been successful in awaking it yet. The thing stirs from time to time, but does not open its eyes. We have consulted this with him, and he says that we must have patience, that it will awaken in time. I believe what he says, but it is all the harder to have the patience to wait.
However, we waited this long, and we can wait longer.
Diary entry over.

Diary entry #169
I was watching over the “weapon” when the most amazing thing happened: It awoke! I had been sipping my coffee and inserting my observation data into the computer when I heard a noise and suddenly there it was, sitting up and blinking those beautiful blue eyes of its! I immediately called for assistance.
To my surprise, however, it spoke. Its English was surprisingly good, even though it struggled over a few words, like “me” and “myself”. I will have to note identity questioning might be misbalancing its sense of purpose. It also spoke in Spanish, Latin, Gaelic, and I do believe “twin speak” which alleviates my sense that it lacks a sense of identity. It asked questions like a newborn child, had it the sense and ability to talk, would asking where its “mother” was and that it was hungry. Simple questions, not so easily answered. The mother question was hard to evade. How can you tell even something like this that it had no mother?

Diary entry#175
It has been seven days since the being the man dubbed as simply “Eternium” had awoken. The thing eats voraciously – as if all those years in the tube had awoken its appetite for real food as well. It is strange, its behavior. Like a child, it can be temperamental and rude, often breaking objects in the room we prepared for it with its incredible power.
On the other hand, it seems to calculate things extremely quickly, and as part of the program we are required to put it through stressful situations to see its reactions, and every time it has gone through our defenses without seeming to, in laments terms, “break a sweat.” While its normal senses are, in comparison to a “homo sapien”, the equal, its seems to possess a “sixth sense” that automatically protects it or warns it of incoming difficulties or dangers. For example, we let it outside today. Under bodyguard protection and the watchful eye of myself and several other scientists, of course. During our walk the usually blue sky turned a dull grey and the air grew…uncomfortable. As we are scientists, and not meteorologists, and of course could not predict what would happen. Suddenly, as if struck by inspiration, the subject detached itself from the group and spun around, clear fear in its sky blue eyes. It looked at each of us wildly, and finally its gaze settle on one of the body guards who stood a little distance away. Running at full speed before any of us could draw a weapon or react, the subject tackled the guard to the ground several feet away just as a lightning bolt struck the exact same place the man would have been earlier.
Clearly this needs further study on.

Diary entry #212
Subject is becoming restless.
Even more frequent “walks” outside do not seem to sate its appetite and curiosity. We have found it missing several times and on the verge of sounding the alarm when it was found wandering the abandoned castle in which our work was done. It seems to have no purpose in its wanderings, simply because of the fact that it can seems to be good enough for it.
We have even locked the door to its rooms but yet still find it wandering about. This worries me; subject, although maybe not known to its self, is considered highly dangerous, and if word gets out that it exists, well…
The U.S. Government will pay a visit. And that is a very bad thing, especially at this time.
Diary Entry over.

Diary Entry #214
We have tried sedating it, but it seems to resist the drug and we cannot. We had a close call, and I personally had a close encounter with one of its amazing abilities, which I have dubbed myself as “The Whiteshadow Effect.” In the light, it is able to gather the light itself to create weapons that it can seemingly conjure and wield telepathically and telekinetically, thus I observed that it uses the light in an offensive manner. In the dark, or shadows, it can gather the shadows themselves to protect it or even use them to move faster. I believe that it uses the dark as a defensive measure through this technique.
How this is all possible is beyond me. I wish to study the subject more, to learn more about it, not only what it can do but what it really is. However, I sense my colleagues do not agree with my opinion, and I am afraid for its safety. It is still only a child, after all.

Diary entry #252
The man who oversaw this project has ordered the destruction of Eternium.
During these last few months I fear I have failed as a scientist but have gained a soul as a father. This being…this person rather, named as Eternium, has become like a son to me. He, rather than it as I have referred to him in the past, is just like any other person. He has emotions, he eats and sleeps, and he speaks just like any other normal being. He should be treated as such, rather than a weapon to use.
However, the others do not share my views, and the man has expressed his own disgust by pulling me off the project and telling me how Eternium was a “mistake” that he intended to fix. Fix as in annihilate and start over.
I couldn’t let them do that. There was only one thing left to do: I stole Eternium away.
A few months ago I found a portal deep within the bases of the castle during one of those times we were searching for Eternium. I could not determine to wear it lead to, but I found strange items lying around it: Items that, I believe, came from another world. Less than a year ago if someone had come to me and told me this I would have scoffed in their face. But after seeing what my “son” is capable of, I believe anything is possible.
Unfortunately, I tripped the alarm setting Eternium free from his prison and wasted time explaining to him the situation, so I do believe I shall be found quickly. This will be my last diary entry, for I do not think they will leave me alive after this. I die in peace, however, knowing my last moments were not in vain.
Before he entered the portal, Eternium turned to me and asked me that same question he had asked me when he had awoken oh so long ago. “Where is Mother?” He asked innocently, but had tears in his eyes. I cried as well, and pointed towards the portal. “She is in there, my son. Go and find her. Go.” I told him, and he left.
I hear footsteps. They will find me soon.
God help his soul.

DIARY TERMINATED

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

That was three years ago.
These were the diaries of the late Professor Laxton concerning the existence and whereabouts of subject named “Eternium” by Father. We have confirmed that subject was last seen entering the portal to Althanas and may very well be wandering around that strange dimension. In fact several people we have interviewed claim to have seen subject, and we were able to gather this information.

Name: Eternium

Age: Subject appears to be of 20-something years of age.

Race: Dubbed “Genetic Experiment” due to lack of clear information.

Height: 6’0”

Weight: 185 lbs

Sex: Male

General Appearance: Subject is no longer wearing clothing given to it during time at Walshenburg, thus making it harder to find. However, we have heard that it travels around in a white trench coat with dark designs covering it. This coat is not known to be enchanted or contain any special abilities, and seems modern enough that we can assume it was given to subject by the former Professor just before its escape. It seems to reflect his ability, dubbed “The Whiteshadow Effect” very well, and its color may even assist the ability.
Subject is fairly tall but not overtly so, and its body physique is similar to a swimmer’s in that it is thin but toned well. We suspect that this is because of subject’s natural immunity to diseases and drugs. Subject’s skin and hair are shocking white, being albino, which is why we have been able to find so many witnesses.

Occupation: Subject has been using skills as a vigilante of city known as Scara Brae and we have found it has even applied for a job as a bounty hunter. Where this inspiration to fight came from we do not know, only that it grows stronger by the day.

Personality: Over the years it has grown a personality of its own. It is still curious and often is distracted from its original purposes, but is now more aggressive. The calculating logic that Professor Laxton described is still there but only when during battles and such: subject has grown instinctive and brash outside of such situations. We can only hope that it does not end itself through such actions.

Skills: This section is where we are having the most trouble, as subject usually kills those who are close enough to see him in battle. What is known is listed here:

Proficiency in New Languages: Subject has somehow picked up several words of several different languages and can speak almost any language known to both worlds. However, subject is still learning, and has a long ways to go before it can be called "fluent".

Immunity to drugs and diseases:While subject was able to resist all sorts of diseases and pharmasutical drugs when on Earth, we do not know for sure about such things on Althanas, so it may be vulnerable to things like those. A poison unknown to Earth might certainly kill it, for example. Time and experience may only tell.

Sixth Sense
The extra sense that Laxton described in his diary entries is still there. Subject has been seen to use it to avoid certain attacks, like a crossbow bolt or ball of fire, that would certainly have killed him otherwise, but only to a certain extent, and it does not seem to work constantly, which certifies that even after all this time it still has yet to even begin to master its abilities. This ability seems to only work when someone or something is in grave danger, and we have heard he can only use it once per day.
((OOC: Once per thread.))

Proficiency in Martial Arts
It seems that somewhere along its travels it has learned a bit of modern day martial arts, and is surprisingly average with them. It has combined modern day Tae Kwon Do and an ancient style known as Senbonzakura to create a flowing attack combo that utilizes aerial mobility and leg strength to cripple opponents. He, as the creator of this style (to be named), is naturally pretty proficient at it, but he can still be beaten skill wise. His weaknesses are that he often leaves himself open if his attacks do not connect and he sometimes can misjudge his own opponent.

Battle Logic
While he may be hot tempered and impatient in society, he is the exact opposite in fighting. All his brain power and calculating ability seems to apply solely in fighting, which is an advantage to him in that he knows when to strike and when not to strike…most of the time. Even subjects like Eternium make mistakes, and it seems that due to our own calculations he makes mistakes about 30% of the time. However, as noted earlier, his own skills are increasing, and we predict this number to lessen as he gains more experience.
The Whiteshadow Effect
Of all its skills the subject seems to use these the most and is apparently the most proficient in its use. We have separated its abilities under two parts: The Light and The Dark.

The Light
Summon Swords: Subject creates 3-5 short swords made out of hardened light to shoot at opponent(s) with his mind. He can also grab these swords and use them as melee weapons, but he is not known to do so often. The blades are fairly fragile and weak themselves, seeming only to be as strong as iron, and his marksmanship when launching them is below average at best. However, they are useful in close situations. Subject can only launch swords at the speed of a shinobi's throwing knives, but can only launch one at a time. Attempting to launch multiple swords can result in the immediate dissapation of those blades. Power, size and number of blades is expected to increase with experience, as is proficiency in using them as projectiles. ((LEVEL 0 of 5))

The Dark
Shadow Step: Subject uses the darkness both within and without to instantly transmit body from one place to another. However, subject can only do this once a day and only up to 10 feet away. Like with Summon Swords, this ability is expected to increase with use. ((LEVEL 0 of 5))

Equipment: Other than its clothing and rations it has picked up, subject carries no equipment other than the amount of currency it has.

Companions
Subject has been seen to be carrying a black cat that it calls Dweia around, and it accompanies him everywhere. However, it has no combat abilities that are known and is simply used for traveling companionship.

Thank god that we were even able to find this info. It has taken us this long to find out this much…it seems that this Althanas world is more than we expected. Perhaps Father knows of this place: He reeks knowledge and wisdom.
In any case, god help us if the subject ever finds out who we are.

I need you to limit the speed at which he can launch swords. Make it so he can't launch them faster then he would've if he thrown them by hand, and make it so he can fire only one at a time.

Also, keep in mind that he may be making mistakes 30% of the time, but that doesn't mean that his attacks connect 70% of the time.

Sorry Letho for not putting that in earlier. After I was done with this I was way too tired, I thought about putting it in. Anyhow, I edited profile so that he can lauch them about as fast as throwing dagger, (I don't know how fast that specifically is but I know that it is slower than an arrow.) and he can only launch one at a time at this point before he runs out, in which he must find cover to summon another set. Is that good?

Don't worry I will not powerplay the Battle Logic feature...those are just two general numbers. It does not mean that 70% of the time Eternium hits his opponent succesfully, just like Eternium has successfully identified the target and that some of strikes may or may not come close to landing. It also depends on the target. If Eternium fought a giant wolf, as it ran towards him he might have a higher percentage of striking simply because of the power and intelligence difference, and could probably even get a higher chance to strike because of that. If he were fighting something like a mriswith, however, that number could be significantly lowered, as they are some of the fastest and deadliest creatures alive. His % to strike, shall we call it, would be the reverse: 30% to hit, 70% mistake.

Do you want me to put that info in as well or is it good enough for you?

Nah, just keep it within level zero character limits and you'll be fine.

You are approved. Once again, welcome to Althanas.
