I've just made a new thread and need some willing/active participants to get it going.

Summary

Something is wrong in the Red Forest. Well, something more than the usual blood vine and hostile territory. Entire patches of land in southern Raiaera are being turned into cracked, barren wastelands by some unknown force. My character is in search of this dark force and quite willing to undergo struggle for some answers. As things are, news of this blight has only spread to those sensitive to nature's call and the waggling tongues of elves living near the perimeter of Lindequalmë. Rumors have spread across Raiaera, though they become more and more farfetched as they put distance from their source, as rumors often do. You hear all sorts of reasons to stay out of southern Raiaera anyway...

Characters Desired (max 3)

Moral Being - A character, like Sidhe, who simply desires to heal the land or right what feels like a wrong. This character can be attuned to the damages the land is suffering or simply be following a tip from an elven merchant who told of strange doings to the south. This one’s pretty straightforward.

Egoist - Here’s one I’d like to see. I want a character that entered the Red Forest in search of some sort of reward. Could be following a bad lead or simply hoping to come across a Durklan ruin to loot its treasures. In any case, he/she is there now and when the characters come across some blighted land, decides what to do for his/her own wellbeing. Perhaps traveling in a group seems like a better idea than being a loner after what they witness…

Critic - This one needn’t be a downright evil character, though it may be, but it has to be one that gets on others’ nerves quite easily. It’s someone who will point out any mistake made by the people around him/her. Their part in the story would be to raise the tension in given situations by poising our characters against each other rather than advancing their cooperation. His/her reason for being around is up to the writer.

Powerhouse – I’d really like a character with some firepower; the more understated, the better. This one can also be in Lindequalmë for varied reasons, but in the end must have more to him/her than meets the eye. This is the character that will be essential to overcoming the first of many difficulties we’ll come upon.

So, if you’re interested in joining, post here or PM me. Remember, the character listings above are suggestions of what I’d like to see, but I’m pretty much open to anything that can be worked in believably well. I do have more details worked out than I’ve displayed here, but I reserve the right to disclose that info only to the thread’s participants.

I'm intrigued. Nathan could be the powerhouse and egoist all in one, if need be.

Don't count me in just yet, though. I'll wait and see who else is interested because I may not be the best suited.

I really like this quest's potential. I read the first post and you look like a great writer with an interesting character. I'm interested in joining.

Raelyse can realistically fill all three of the roles. He's a Bladesinger, but he's really only in it for the recognition as he has a very faulty conscience. If there's material reward in the Red Forest or even the chance to get the Raiaeran people hearing his name again, he'll be more than up for this adventure. He'll probably try and hog the glory too. He's a narcissist and looks down on everyone so he'll be a perfect critic. He may not be the most brilliant tactician but he can see a flaw in a team mate or fellow adventurer quite easily, since he's been on his fair share of quests. Being Level 7, with devastating spells, long sword mastery and two powerful enchanted swords, Raelyse is as big a powerhouse as any.

If you could get on AIM or MSN or whatever chat client, it'd be perfect so we could discuss this in greater depth.

Agent of Black, get back to me if/when you're sure.

Raelyse, your character would be awesome in this thread. I've added my AIM to Althanas and you're on my list now. We can talk whenever you catch me online.

I like the idea, farsight is also going for Bladesinger recognition, though his idea's of glory and fame are a bit skewed. I could potentially fulfill the first roll (favored), or the egotist if necessary... but not likely.

If Raelyse is your critic...and Agent of Black is considered your egoist...Findelfin could be your powerhouse. You wanted subtlety, and his woodcraft skills and knowledge of Raiaera might be useful in a very subtle way.

Let me know if I'm welcome.

Farsight, unfortunately I can't find a lot of IC postings by your hand that I can judge your talent by. I want to keep the writing for this thread fluid and dynamic. If you have a sample you'd like me to read, please PM me or post a link here.

Sighter, we've spoken and both you and Raelyse are welcome to post at will.

I'm Ranger (Lvl 4), Eyes of..., Nobukazu, Garwocket, Lugh, Osato (modded), Dirge... ect.

As for samples: Hope this works (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=2042) -- It's the finals of the LCC, in which I was teamed with Chumley (that lovable Elephant that pissed everyone off). We lost to Thoracis and Dirks by .5 of a point...

Farsight, I'm sorry, but Agent of Black got back to me first and I don't really want a five-person thread. Thanks for the interest though. I llok forward to RPing with you some other time.

Everyone else, the slots have been filled by Agent of Black, Sighter and Raelyse.

That's cool, thanks for the chance. I'm sure we'll be in something in Raiaera soon enough... lol
