View Full Version : Looking for a Fight
The thread's title is pretty self-explanatory. I want to get into a battle (preferably multiple battles) and test my mettle against what Althanas has to offer these days. There's no level cap for challengers, since RP victory doesn't ensure actual victory in this forum, and I welcome anyone who conjure up a decent scenario.
My character's a naturalist who stands for the defense of life in all its forms. Surely one of you evil-doers would see fit to disrupt his calm. Or perhaps we can spar over a misunderstanding among virtuous folk. In any case, I'd like to avoid the Citadel if at all possible. Actual stories behind battles are far more intriguing than a couple of people meeting randomly to test themselves in an arena where they have nothing to lose.
Please post here if you are active and interested. Once again, higher level challengers are more than welcome to try and teach me a lesson if they can. :)

Not evil, certainly not higher-level, but Hayashi would gladly spar your character, even if it is over something as simple as a challenge made in the heat of the moment. He hardly ever turns any challenge down, seeing them as opportunities to advance his own skill. There can be a more complex reason leading up to their duel, of course. Would you be up for a fight with 'im?
Definitely, my ex-shinobi friend.
I'll PM you if I think of a good justification for our conflict. Please do the same. :D
Anyone else?

There's always the Dajas Pagoda, with a multitude of great writers and crazy characters ready to be challenged.
Was that a suggestion or a challenge?
I wish to avoid the Pagoda for the same reason as the Citadel.

a suggestion, actually. I'm pretty swamped with stuff right now as it is. Although, if you challenged me specifically in the Pagoda, I'd have to accept.
The Citadel and Pagoda carry a negative taboo in that sense. Battles in both places can be very meaningful to your character's persona and storyline, you just have to set them up right.
If you're looking for a challenging battle, I'd suggest posting an open challenge to a warrior in Dajas Pagoda. That way you're guaranteed an experience writer who will post actively.

This particular character of mine might fit the bill for engaging in a philosophical discussion that would end in tears, but only if you said something that pissed off his "imaginary friend", causing her to take over and try to unleash quick steel pain and suffering...
016573, I know how the Citadel and Pagoda work. Their threads can be meaningful indeed, but I didn't want to justify my character seeking conflict openly so early in his storyline when I'm trying to paint him as a pacifist. I have nothing against how they work, but I like the notion of permanent injury sometimes.
Elijah, let's do it! How should Sidhe go about invoking Nadia's wrath, do you think? :-p

Oh, there are many ways to piss her off... Although, after reading your profile, you might have a hard time doing so.
Elijah, we've got our battle up and going.
Opening Title, I thought you were going to make our thread in Sulgoran's Axe or something by what you PMed. Let me know if you're still planning to do it.
All you other RPers, get to challenging.
