Taiden Bradoc
Age: 26
Race: Human
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 180 lbs

Personality: Happy-go-lucky.

Taiden is at home in the woods, in the wilds. He's quiet, especially around people he hasn't known for very long, but not unfriendly. Most peculiar of his mindset is his dependence on instincts, rather than rational thought. It began as a side-effect of spending too much time among beasts rather than men, seeing the way they could react instantly to a threat, and how often that reaction was the correct one. After a time, Taiden purposefully began ignoring his inner dialogue, choosing the course of action which comes naturally to him when confronted with a stressful situation. He's continued this philosophy because it works.

He sometimes comes across as tactless, as he finds himself incapable of holding his tongue when he feels something needs to be said, or needs to be done.

Appearance:

Dirty, dusty, he's been on the road for weeks since he's seen a decent bed, and months since he's seen a bath. His clothing is a mixture of thick cloth, leather, and animal pelts that seems to have been stitched togather from what used to be proper clothing, long ago.

History:

Taiden was a woodsman, a good one. Still is really, but recently he's found himself bored with that line of work.

It all started when he was out in the wilds, leagues away from anything that could properly be called a city. A hunting trip out in lands that weren't already claimed by this lord or that pissant nobleman, when he hears the strangest thing. People! Humans! They're off in the distance, having a polite conversation that involves the words "give" "money" and "or your lives." Instinct tells him these are scum, spoiling his forest, and even if he ignored them now, they'd eventually interrupt his hunting.

Besides, he hears another voice as he gets nearer, shaky this one, but indignant. Seems the man has something valuable enough to risk his life over it, or maybe he's just never been properly robbed before. It's a short enough battle once Taiden gets there, there are three bandits, but he has the advantage of surprise. The folks he's rescued, a man and his young wife, traveling to his relatives without a care in the world, they thank him, he tells them to be more careful next time.

At the end of it, their lives are changed forever, but so is his... Trapping animals, hiring himself out as a guide, living only for himself, he's been wasting his life away, especially when there are so many better ways he could put his skills to work. He is satisfied with himself in a way he never knew he was lacking, helping other people in danger, people who can't help themselves, it feels good. Without another thought, this is the direction he's decided his life will take for the future.

Skills:
Archery: Rather good at this whole archery thing. "Above average" you would say.
Woodsman: Taiden is an experienced tracker, hunter, and guide. He knows how to set traps for animals, where to find medicinal herbs in the wild, how to tell what way is north from the moss growing on a tree, how to start a fire by rubbing two sticks together, etc.
Hand to hand combat: Taiden relies on his bow for combat, but is no stranger to the occasional brawl.

Equipment:
Longbow: Taiden's pride and joy, he carved it himself from the heartwood of an ancient oak, and cares for it like it was his child. It's perfectly sized for his height and weight, and capable of propelling arrows hundreds of feet, into flesh, bone, or even metal.
Tools: An assortment of iron knives, an iron-headed hatchet, rope, bags, animal skins, and similar things. The knives are made for skinning animals and sundry tasks, being ill-suited to combat. Similarly, the hatchet is a tool, suitable as a weapon in a pinch, but not properly balanced for that use. Instead he has:

Magical equipment: Towards the end of his days as a hunter, Taiden did a favor for a druid. Tracking down and killing a wolf that had somehow grown to the size of a small bear and gone rabid in the process. The Druid, Kemen, took the corpse of the wolf, and enchanted what he could of it as a reward. Something in the magic Kemen used bound both the gloves and boots Kemen made to Taiden, making them useless to anyone else as magic items, and thus unsellable.

Beast Gloves: Leather gloves that, upon his mental command, change his hands into large, furred claws that can cut through skin and armor as easily as a sword could.
Lupine Boots: Enable Taiden to move faster than any normal human (the going rate for starting characters seems to be 1.5x, so I'll go with that) - and hide his passing so that any step he takes with the boots on leaves no tracks.

Just two things.

One, "excellent shot" is a rather vague description. Let's just say he's slightly above average in archery.

And two, please put in a note that he can never sell the Beast Gloves/Lupine Boots.

Done and done.

Even came up with an in-game reason why their unsellable.
