NAME: Ifrit Obsidian

AGE: 105 years old, but in demon years he is about 23.

RACE: Marquee Cambion; offspring between a royal/powerful demon and a female human.

HAIR COLOR: Obsidian Black

EYE COLOR: Blood Red

HEIGHT/ WEIGHT: 5'11, 182 lbs

OCCUPATION: Ifrit is a bounty hunter, slaying both humans and monsters alike. It doesn’t matter what to him, just as long as he gets paid for it. He is also the captain of a company of a semi-cult called the Bladewraiths, who worship the blade and all its uses, including fighting.

PERSONALITY: If you were to assign him an alignment, it would be chaotic neutral, for he lives for one thing and one thing only: fighting. He loves to fight, and will constantly hold himself back in battles to prolong them. When asked about the ruby amulet that is shaped like a teardrop that hangs around his neck, he explains. “The ruby is meant to represent a drop of blood. The lines that surround it represent a dance; the dance with death. It means both one thing, and everything; Cut. “Cut without mercy. Flow between the gaps in his guard. Cut. Cut him down utterly. Don’t allow him a breath. “Cut without mercy to the depths of his soul. “This is the balance to life; death. It is the dance with death. “It is the law a Bladewraith lives by, or he dies.” To others he may seem cold and distant, but that is only because he likes to take the lone-wolf approach on things. He is not egotistical and realizes his own flaws and mistakes, but he is confident in his own abilities and will readily confront any challenge.

However, through some new battles and serious changes in his life, he has grown quieter and more seclusive, thus giving off the air of being "mysterious". He thinks more and acts less rashly, more often found brooding in a corner than partying.

APPEARANCE: Ifrit used to look like a demon so much that he was mistaken for being one completely, having rough black skin and claws. However, certain events have changed his appearence greatly so that he looks like a normal human, save for his blood red eyes. He appears to be a young man, maybe 18 years of age at the most, wearing an absolute black trenchcoat with gloves and black boots. His skin color has changed from the rough, coarse skin to a pale white, contrasting against the all black of his coat and hair, which has also changed from a silver sheen to a black shadow. While he has "grown" slightly smaller with the change, this does not seem to affect his abilities, and wields his blade with the same strength and expertise as before.

HISTORY: Ifrit does not have much of a past. He was born on Althanas and raised by his mother, Ashleigh Obsidian, but he was always different from her. Although he had bassically figured it out for himself, he was still surprised when his mother told him about his demonic heritage and who his father was. His father was one of the great Seven Dukes of Hell; Arioch, Lord of Chaos. After telling her son how they had fallen in love with each other and had Ifrit, she gave him a memento and message from his father; "Come and find me when you are strong enough." Along with that was a two handed giant falchion. A gift from his father. And so he went on a great quest to search for his father, training and getting stronger by the years. Many passed, and eventually his skills were recognized by a member of group called the Bladewraiths. The member was garbed in a red cloak, and at his hip he wore an ornate but obviously used blade. He offered Ifrit a place in the Bladewraiths, but at first the proud demon refused. Then that same member challenged him to a duel. Ifrit accepted, thinking this would be an easy win. He lost. Chagrined by his defeat, Ifrit put down his pride and realized that he had much to learn. He went with the mysterious member and found out that that member was the Captain of the Seventh company of the Bladewraiths, and his name was Pareal. Ifrit trained with the Bladewraiths for many more years, until he became more than the average swordsman. In fact, he even beat his mentor, Pareal, in a duel, and gained the title of Captain of the Seventh Company. After he became captain, however, he traveled some more and eventually met the man named Ravenok Kinnes. Ifrit, normally a lone-wolf, found something in Ravenok that had been missing in others, and so the two paired up for awhile. However, they were ambushed by mriswith (deadly lizard-like men who have the ability to turn invisble via their camoflauge magic cloaks) and although the pair managed to escape, Ifrit was seperated from Ravenok, and thought he was dead. And thus he continued his quest for his father, learning more and more secrets about his past as the bodies piled up...

His new experiences have all happened in or near the city of Scara Brae, where he has taken temporary refuge from demon hunters and such that his father warned him about in a mysterious letter, shortly after Ifrit's change in appearence. He has escorted a powerful little girl to her boat to Corone through hell and back, and he has fought beside a savage lizard man named Lexxum as they struggled to survive against an onslaught of doppleganger wolves and their "master", a huge, giant golden spider that could cast magic and create illusions within their heads. Of these the most notable event was the change in Ifrit's look and the gain of a new technique, which he has yet to perform again, however.

SKILLS: Ifrit, being of demonic heritage, obviously has enhanced strength, speed and stamina, plus he has the ability to recognize others of his kind by their auras. However, his physical abilities are merely enhanced; for example, the most he could probably lift is about 60 lbs above his own weight (about 260 lbs, like a body builder); the fastest he could run is about 25 mph (like a sprinter); and longest he could last is about 26 hours without needing a day of rest and recuperation. His enhanced strength and speed, however, allow him to wield his giant two-handed falchion with one hand and in the style of either a greatsword or a longsword. He also has some skills in swordsmanship. He is not a Blademaster or such, but enough so he is able to handle his own in a duel. He is able to keenly calculate his opponents movements in battle and counter appropriately, unless they employ a movement he has never seen before. He has a little skill in common martial arts as well.

HELLFIRE: skill level; low. He has just recently learned of hellfire and his abilities and has had little time to practice it. Hellfire is not like regular fire. It appears as purple/red flame with shadows consuming it. It cannot be blown away with wind. It is more effective against earth and wood than typical flame, but against metal or intense rays of light (excluding the sun) it is completely useless. For example, if a ball of Hellfire was launched at an opponent wielding a sword made of steel, the opponent could simply point his sword at the the incoming ball of fire and the ball would evaporate against the tip. And if someone used a light spell against it, it would destroy it completely.

Using hellfire costs Ifrit as it its drained straight from his mana supply. The amount of mana drained depends on the move. If all his mana is drained, he is left barely able to move or fight. However, for certain moves he can lower the percentage that his mana is drained by by lower the size, power, or speed of the attack. For example, take Ifrit’s Hellfire Burst. The max size and power of it is 3’ tall by 3’ wide, but this costs half of his current mana at his current level. However, he could create a smaller size fireball, about the size of his fist, for just a little of his mana. Thus he can conserve energy at a cost of power. Some moves, however, and later to be revealed to Ifrit, cost a certain amount of mana to perform, or none at all.

Hellfire skills: Level Zero

Hellfire Burst: Ifrit charges for a second and launches a hellfire fireball about 3’tall and 3’wide at maximum power. This move costs, at the max, half of his current mana to perform and does a decent amount of damage if it connects.

Amaterasu: Also known as "Shining Heaven": A special attack that utilizes black fire to consume and detroy it's opponents. However, it has three stages, and Ifrit is barely able to utilize the first stage without crippling himself, as it takes away about 85% of his mana, or energy. The first stage is the only one Ifrit is able to reach. The second stage will probably be able to be reached at level 5 or so. Ifrit must sheathe his sword in order to perform this move, as it consumes his arms in the special black Hellfire and he performs a close-strike that not only blows the opponent backwards (only human-sized or smaller) but also spirals around so that it rips and tears. However, he can only perform this move once per thread, and not without serious detriment to himself.

(NOTE: This move is locked until Ifrit reaches Level 1. He can try to perform it until then, but he will ALWAYS fail in even summoning the special black fire.)

EQUIPMENT:

Eternium Beowulf: A new version of the giant falchion Arioch gave his son. It has a slightly mechanical, futuristic look in addition to its demonic appereance, but it has not changed in strength or weight, as it is still only as strong as steel.

Ripping Dagger: A small 1-foot dagger that Ifrit bought at the Bazaar. Despite its fearsome looking appereance, it is only made of iron and has no known enchantments upon it. Ifrit only uses it sparingly, prefering his giant blade to the light weapon.

Lexxum's Bone Necklace: A bone necklace made for and given to Ifrit by the lizard warrior Lexxum as a symbol of comrades. It has no special properties.

Bladewraith Amulet: ((this isn't a new item, but I forgot to add it in equipment last time so i'm doing it this time.)) Ifrit's tear-drop shaped ruby that symbolizes a drop of blood. It confirms him as a member of the Bladewraith Cult.

You can't sell the Bladewraith Amulet (not that he would, it seems), but other than that, approved.
