Bullet Witch

Leigh Tyrfing had only been on this place called Althanas for a month or so, and already she was becoming accustomed to the different varieties of people and beings that seemed to inhabit this place. The amount of monsters and demons alarmed her, and she had half already had Heresy in her hands before realizing that they weren't the type that she was used to battling. Still, this unnerved her, and she didn't feel comfortable with just her crossbow around such dangerous beings.

Which is why she was here, at the Ba-czar, or whatever it was called. She stepped swiftly through the numerous number of people with her slim body, and earned many a look as she forcefully pushed passed quite a number of them. Quite frankly, she did not feel comfortable around so many strangers, as wished to be out of here a.s.a.p.

She looked around for a while until she found a tent selling weapons and armor. It was a nice, small and simple tent, and the Witch immediately felt at home. The owner of the tent, it seemed, was a kindly old woman with a few wrinkles on her face and scars on her arms, suggesting she led a life of violence before settling down as the owner of this establishment.

Leigh took a look around the store before settling on a couple of items. One was a plain steel katana with a black handle and lamenated wooden sheath, and it had no hilt guard to speak of. The other was a pair of vambraces, also looking to be steel, that were slim and feminine, perfect for her wrists.

"Excuse me, ma'am, but could you tell me how much that steel katana and those pair of vambraces are?" Leigh said as politely as possible. The old woman seemed nice just from appearences, and there was no need to be rude to her.

Erin looked up as the door chimed, alerting her to the fact that someone had entered her modest shop. Smiling she watched the young woman browse through her store.

"Good afternoon, dear. My name's Erin. A katana and vambraces, goodness it sounds like you are readying yourself for a battle." Erin clucked her tongue and wandered off into the back room. She returned a moment later, a tray piled cups cookies and a tea pot in one hand, a book in the other.

Laying the tray to the side on the counter, Erin smiled.

"You have your self a nice cup of tea while I look up the prices of the items you want."

Leigh smiled, a genuine smile that came not often. The woman who called herself Erin reminded Leigh of a former comrade of hers, code named Bloody Rose. Leigh never did find out her real name.

"Thanks." Leigh obliged the old woman by picking up the hot tea and taking small sip. It was good, which was no surprise. Obviously this woman knew her teas. "And i'm sorta preparing. I'm more of a long-range fighter, you could say, but I want to be prepared in case I have to get close and personal."

Leigh looked around the shop again, noticing all the different varieties of items. "Are all these yours from your golden days?" Leigh said bluntly, but with a kind tone.

For a brief second the cheerful expression slipped, a somber judging expression flitting across Erin's face, gone before it was fully formed. Erin smiled at the young woman, she held her page.

"I was never much of a adventurer I'm afraid.' Those blades I once bore are long eaten away by time and memories, shattered on monsters and broken by wars. Erin smiled ruefully at the weapons, clothing and armor lining the walls and shelves. 'I always stayed close to home. You've a good eye my dear. I normally stock for all types, I've got connections to weapons dealers from all over the world, with few exceptions."

Erin turned back to her book, skimming the pages until she came to the page she was searching for.

"Here we go! The Katana is 200 gold, the vambraces 80 gold."

The old woman said otherwise, but Leigh knew that she had been quite the adventurer before settling down on these parts and selling this stuff. There was an aura about the woman that told Leigh that while she may be old, she would be a dangerous one to cross.

Leigh smiled, and reminded herself that if she ever visited the Ba-czar again to visit the old lady. Maybe later she would be more open with the Witch and the two could discuss old battles.

"Hmm, so 280 gold all together?" Leigh looked into her purse and counted how much she had. Together she had 200gp, but when she first opened her purse on Althanas she found a voucher for 300 gold to spend at the Ba-czar. It was a slip of paper, so Leigh was rather hesitant about using it, as she didn't know if it was fraud or not. Regardless she took it out and set it on top of the counter. "Will this do?" she asked.

Erin picked up the voucher, after inspecting it she nodded.

"That it will, my dear. See the imprinted seal in the corner? The seal is used to make these vouchers legitimate. I'm surprised that forged ones haven't popped up yet. Then again you never know what people are up to these days." Erin tucked the voucher away in a locked box and smiled at the young woman.

Erin pulled out a book and quickly jotted down what had been sold and for how much in the ledger in a near crisp handwriting.

"There we go, everything is set into order. If you need anything don't be a stranger. I'm sure I can find what ever it is you are looking for. You can tell me if you've found yourself a young man by then." Erin tittered, her cheeks flushing slightly at the idea of young love and the memories of past loves.
