Farouk in Meditation

Name: Farouk Nabil Heydar
Age: 83
Race: Ilmarien Elf(Desert/Forge Elf)
Hair Color: White
Eye Color: Deep Brown
Height: 5'2"
Weight: 138lbs
Occupation: Black Smith and Stone Shaper

Personality: Farouk Nabil Heydar is your typical Ilmarien. Blunt and to the point, he has no need for fanciful words and delicate niceties. He speaks what’s on his mind and he doesn’t care who hears. His love for the dunes and sparse watery sanctuaries is strong, as is his detest for the woods of his blasted wood dwelling brethren. He is a brash and arrogant man, who has a little to big a head for his shoulders; and is almost always on the receiving end of someone’s fist. However, he is not a fool. His arrogance is a carefully calculated mask he wears to deceive those who would otherwise be quite interested in him.

Farouk is a black smith, and one of the few Ilmarien Stone Shapers. His work as a black smith is well known for it’s quality and price. That’s not to say he is the best, indeed he is still young for Ilmarien standards. However, he makes a fine little living off of his smithing skills. He is one of only six Stone Shapers in all of Ilmarien society. As such, he holds a great burden to his people to commit to his duties as one of the Six Shapers. None except for the Shapers themself know who these individuals are, and Farouk and the other five go to painful lengths to keep their identities hidden.

The duties of a Stone Shaper are unknown to all except a privileged few, and even they only know what the Shapers allow. It is most often that a Shaper is chosen using an ancient mathematical equation which can follow the genealogy of Shapers and accurately predict who and when a ancestor will emerge with the Shaping ability. Farouk was one of those, and he is the most recent of Shapers, as such, he is still at turmoil with his duties and hides within himself.

Appearance: Farouk is in almost every way an average Ilmarien. Standing at five-feet two-inches and weighing one-hundred thirty-eight pounds, he is well built. His skin is a darkly pigmented, and worn and leathery from constant exposure to the harsh weather of the desert. His face is very uniquely Ilmarien, sharing only the bear-bone resemblance to their more common wood dwelling brothers. A large forehead and heavy brow, along with socketed and shadowed eyes mark him almost instantly as Ilmarien. Sharp, thin, angular eyebrows etch his face, and copper coloured almond eyes glow from beneath his brow. His pointed ears are large and wide, much less human then the average elf. Their size is to allow the Ilmarien the crucial acute hearing, required to hear communications in a sand-storm. His nose is large and flat, like all Ilmarien, and his mouth and chin are small, giving his face the very rough proportion of an upside down triangle. Golden markings scrawl across his face and extend all the way to his torso, a birth-right to all male Ilmarien

His hair is done in intricate corn-rows, before being gathered in a golden loop, then meticulously braided, his hair falling down to his chest, with a small aqua-marine jewel tied at the ending of each braid. At random points in the braid, his hair is dyed the same aqua-marine of the jewels holding his braids together. This is to contrast the snowy white natural colour of his hair. Farouk is quite proud of his hair, and will keep it tame and under control. Most Ilmarien hair is red, blue, violet, orange, or any other un-natural colour hair has. This is caused because of their diet, and where the majority of Ilmarien civilization lives.

His body is well built, and is more akin to the burly Dwarves then the slender and tall Elves. Most Ilmarien men and women are more built then the average Elf, and they can be considered either quite attractive or quite repulsive. Oddly enough, Dwarves, who normally distrust Elves, are very friendly with Ilmarien Elves, and it is not uncommon to see each race within their homes. The Wood Elves, on the other hand, view the Ilmarien as abominations, and most often call them the Shupta, or Dwarf-Elf.

His clothing is simple and designed for functionality in the desert. Bare chested, with only tough leather straps criss-crossing his chest, designed to be used as to attach bags and weapons with ease. On his back is a specialized leather catch for his hammer. His leggings are light cotton, toughened to withstand the biting sand of the desert, and a great orange shawl, which hangs around his waste and acts as a wind buffer, and can be worn around the body during sand storms.

History: Farouk was born during a time of great expansion for the Ilmarien Elves. Situated on the desert covered lands of Kebiras, the small Ilmarien civilization thrived. Far removed from the problems and struggles of the rest of the world, and protected on all sides by desert, the expansion of Ilmarien culture was very fast. A culturally advanced Elven race, the Ilmarien knowledgeable in astronomy, mathematics, and medicine. The cities of the Ilmarien quickly grew during this time, and the Ilmarien impact steadily grew, taking in more and more land around Kebiras.

His young years were spent in a small farming village, along one of the two great rivers, the very center of the Ilmarien civilization. His family was part of the norm. Little actual money or property aside from their farm, it was in all likely hood that Farouk would become simply another farmer. However, this did not sit well with Farouk. He wished for something more. He was in the capital of Corvix when he saw the mastery of the Blacksmith. Sure, his father smithed simple farming tools back on the farm, but those were shotty, and dull. What he saw were the battles of two smithies, fighting with art and beauty, crafting the weapons and jewelry that make them known.

It was then Farouk knew that was what he wanted. He wanted to be able to craft such beautiful armor, he wanted to feel the thunder of the hammer bending the red-hot metal into the deadly blade of steel. He approached the men, and inquired about apprenticeship. They laughed, and turned him away. But Farouk would not relent. He continued to return, until the will of the smithies broke. Until they accepted him.

So many years, he would work in the grand city of Corvix, forging a name for himself as quite the blacksmith. As such, he also aroused the attention of the five Shapers. Legend foretold of a young upstart, who would come to Corvix seeking the skills of the forge. That youth would show considerable skill, and the name would be Farouk. The Shapers could not pass this off as mere coincidence. As such, they sent a Shaper Consort; The Shaper’s public hand. It traveled Farouks small Smith Shop, and quickly came to the conclusion; This was the sixth Shaper.

Within a week, Farouk had been contacted and brought before the Shaper Consorts. Five of them, one from each Shaper. He was then explained why he had been brought here, and of the gift he possessed. Farouk rejected this, and stormed out of the grand audience chamber. Only three weeks after Farouk had returned to the Shaper’s Chamber, as they knew he would. Without fail, awakening a Shaper was most effective when in the presence of the Shaper’s Consorts.

It was hard on Farouk, and he had to spend many years simply getting the very rudimentary aspects of Stone Shaping down. From there, however, he had excelled, and just recently had ‘graduated’ to one of the six Stone Shapers. He has, however, had to stop his studies. Ugly rumours have reached the ears of the Shapers, and he has been sent far west to investigate.

Skills:
Stone Shaping((Below Average)): A Stone Shaper has the unique ability to form and manipulate stone of all kinds to suit their need on the fly. However, this requires extreme concentration and decades of practice to master, since Farouk has only practiced for four years, and based on the skill of the other five Shapers, he is below average.

At the moment, he is capable of deformation of stone of large quantities only when he has superbly serene conditions, for it requires emense concentration. Using all his powers, he can create about half a kilometer of tunnel through non-magical stone, before needing to rest to give an average of his ability.

However, he most often usses it in more hectic situation, he can create small changes in the stone, such as creating grooves in the side of a smooth wall to allow him to escape, or create small stone objects, such as circular chunks of rock from already present rock. With enough time, he has been known to be able to create false walls, if the hallway isn't to wide or tall. This drains most of his power, and he usess the ability sparingly for this reason.

Blunt Force Trauma((Above Average)): A smithy, Farouk is quite adapt at inflicting blunt force trauma with his hammer.

Smithing((Average)): An accomplished smithy, Farouk is at a skill where his products are of good quality, and are reliable for the job they were designed for. That being said, there are many better then him.

Equipment:
Smith’s Hammer((Tempered Steel)): A sturdy, well worn hammer meant to bend the molten metal of a smiths forge. It is also incredibly effective against enemies and those who may wish to harm Farouk.

I could have sworn I'd already posted in this...

Please elaborate more on what exactly Farouk can do with his Stone Shaping ability.

I've added some more detail on Stone Shaping. Also note that he gets as exhausted as Raistlin does after using his power for more then small deformation. So creating a wall on the spot basicaly means he's out of any actuall fighting.
