The bazaar of Scara Brae was a large one at that, and Eternium found himself crowded and pressed from all sides from the sheer amount of people. It was strange, him being out in the open like this and not getting any strange looks upon his appearence, simply because of the fact that he saw much stranger beings walking the streets of the Bazaar. It was nice, in a way, for Eternium had missed just being a person and not a warrior.

Dweia purred as she slept in his arms, and he stroked her head lightly as he searched for a tent suitable for what he needed. Suddenly, as if by magic, or the spark in the thought, he saw one.

He came up to it and placed Dwia on his shoulder, where upon she woke up and meowed in annoyance. "Sorry, but I'm busy right now." He mumbled to her when she rubbed her head against his in a plea for attention. He turned to the woman behind the counter, an older woman with scars up and down her arms but had kind eyes looking at him expectantly.

"I apologize about that. She can be rather self-centered at times." He gave the old woman a rougish smile that belied his mysterious appereance. "Alright, how much for that canvas bag--" he pointed at a back-pack like bag a few feet away from the woman. "--and a traveling staff? I'm looking for a decent one made of oak, if you have one, one that can serve not only as a means of transportation but a good melee weapon as well."

Erin raised a brow at the creature before smiling as she shook her head.

"Not a problem. Females of any species tend to be a little self-centered." Erin chuckled, her bright blue eyes gleamed merrily.

"Now, the staff you are asking for. Did you want the ends steel covered? It will keep the damage to the wood minimal.

Eternium chuckled at this comment. "Madame, you don't seem self centered to me at all. Mayhaps you speak of earlier days?" He smiled wide as he spoke, his own blue eyes twinkling merrily at this game. His tone was polite and his accent was strange, but that was all part of the game.

"Ah...good question." Eternium thought carefully about her comment on how it would keep damage to the staff it self minimal. "The only problem is I do not know if I carry the funds to purchase it if it was like that. Could you give me a price, mayhaps, on just the staff with steel ends?" He winked at the end, to keep the old lady's interest.

Erin smiled and shook her head, waving a hand at the man before her.

"Now you quit that or I'll have to start calling you a peacock. Handsome creatures and they know it, much like a young man in front of me. On to business.' Erin said with a quiet chuckle. ' To cap one end will be 30 gold, both 60. The staff you are asking for is 80 gold. The bag you are asking for is 50 gold. I carry another like it made of leather, that one is 90 gold."

Eternium looked around him in mock bewilderment. "Hmm? What man? I don't see any young man..." he chuckled as he focused on the task at hand.

The problem was he did not have the funds necessary to purchase both items at their greatest quality. He sighed. Oh well. "Alrighty then." he spoke. "Cap one end for the extra 30 gold, and i'll take the regular bag for 50g." He motioned to the cat purring on his shoulder. "Its really for her. I believe the price should come out to be 100 gold, correct?"

Erin chuckled quietly and held her tongue about the miscalculation. Scooping up the bag, she discreetly tucked a modest portion of dried fish in the sack for the cat.

"If you'll give me a day to properly fit the metal to the staff I'll have it ready for you. You can pay for the items when I give you the staff." Erin laid the bag in the counter, she hesitated for a moment before reaching out to stroke the soft animal.

Dweia purred happily as the old lady stroked her. "Alright, will do." Eternium said with a roguish smile. "I'll be back tommorow. C'mon Dweia." He said, taking the bag and his cat with him.

The next day....

Eternium set Dewia on the table. "Alright." He said to the old behind the desk. She had a new set of clothes that reminded him of a japanese/american crossover, and he smiled at her appearence. "Aww, ya didn't go an' have ta dress up all pretty like for little ol' me..." he complimented her, using his best farmer voice.

Erin glanced down at her jade and ivory outfit and shook her head, a smile deepening the laugh lines at the corner of her eyes.

"I didn't dress up for you and Dweia, I always look this good. With age you've got to have a certain amount of dignity other wise I'd be locked away and thought of as senile." Erin chuckled at the thought of anyone trying to lock her away. Erin hurried into the back to fetched the oak staff. She prodded the steel cap one last time to make sure that it fit properly before returning to the front.

"Here you go. When you decide to up grade the wood or metal or add the other cap to it I hope you'll seek my shop out in the Bazaar. You were actually quite lucky to catch me here. It's a rarity when shops send out our people to Scara Brae. After all shipping what we do carry with us is so expensive."

"Even so, your beauty in that dress is remarkable." Eternium spoke again, this time without the farmer accent. It had been used once, and there was no need to use it again.

As she fetched the oaken staff Eternium noticed something odd at the tent next to hers. The propetier was selling wares obviously similar to hers, but he was eyeing hers with a thief's eye, as his were of poorer condition.

Eternium made a note to look after this man.

As she returned with the staff, he smiled in glee at its smooth touch and the metal capping. "Its perfect," he breathed. Perfect for what he had in mind. "Well then, mayhap I ask your name, madam?" He said as he retrieved the staff and set down the appropriate amount of money in a bag on the counter to pay for everything. "So next time I am around the area, I can pay you a visit, perhaps?" He winked at her in approval.

Suddenly a swift movement to the side caught his eye, and a dark figure spun around Eternium to run to the other side of the woman's tent. Immediately the experiment's attitude changed as his blue eyes narrowed and he twirled his new staff in his hand. "Hold her for a moment, if you will..." He said to the old woman as he handed her Dweia, who was sleeping peacefully and purring, and leapt over the counter just as the dark figure pulled out twin dirks and slashed them at the woman. However, before the could hit their mark, a blade of light appeared from nowhere and blocked their strike. Eternium landed to the ground as two more swords appeared behind the assassin, preventing any retreat in the narrow space. "Madam', I think you may want to question the propetier next door about this matter. " He said to the old lady as he raised his staff and deftly knocked the assassin unconcious with a swift movement.

Erin waved away his complement with a chuckle.

"Erin Fawkes, everyone calls me Erin though. I can't stand to be called Ms. Fawkes or anything. Someone that polite needs to have a eye kept on them." Erin grinned in a wry manner. Erin raised a brow as she suddenly found herself with a arm full of cat and the younger man was jumping over the counter.

Cradling the cat in one arm Erin side stepped one hand moving to her back. To slow. That's it I'm never leaving the main bazaar again. Erin thought to herself as she watched her would be killer get knocked out.

"Have no doubt I will have a long talk with my fellow shop keeper." Erin returned Dewia to her owner and tossed the pouch of gold into a locked box.

"Have a good day." Erin said, the pleasant smile and tone covering the cold glance she shot towards the stall next to hers. "You remember to take care of yourself and Dewia."
