Mathias

Okay. I'm going to seriously try to get back into Althanas again. =P
General Information
Name: Mathias
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance: Dirty blonde hair and an average height do not become an intimidating youth. Though broad shouldered, Math is pretty average and easily overlooked in all aspects. He has hazel eyes, switching between a murky green to a vivid light blue, depending on mood, lighting, and outfit. His skin tans rather easily, but as well, it pales just as quick. It's not uncommon for him to look bronze and only a week later be as white as a phantom.
Equipment
Clothing - A well worn, sleeveless black vest adorns his chest, often covered by a white jacket with thick black buttons. He wears baggy white shorts, held up by a black leather belt. Black leather boots rise up to his shins.
Knapsack - A backpack filled with various foodstuffs, fundamental survival supplies, maps, inkpens, and a journal. He also keeps a violin and three bows in a case.
Abilities
Planesmagic
People believe magic is otherworldly. Mysterious. Supernatural, yet belonging to the world. But the most important thing is that people believe in magic. However, only a handful ever come to the realization that it is that belief, and that belief alone, that fuels the essence of magic. It is what creates Gods, sculpts myths, and forges all things arcane and unreal. In all bluntness, magic is simply the strength of belief. For those who believe they can wield it, believe it is a tangible thing to grasp and shape, then that is what it becomes. If one, however, realizes the truth beyond that, magic simply becomes one's imagination. Planesmagic and the planeswalkers who use it, are simply those who have an imagination of boundless capacity.
~Walk: Allows Mathias to transcend different levels of reality and existance.
~Phase: Controlling his essence, Mathias becomes ethereal for several moments.
Limitations: Mathias only has a specific capacity for his abilities, as asserting one's will on reality can be, understandably, rather taxing. The more he attempts to impose his magic, the more drastic the afflictions will be. If only using them on a minor scale, or in a state of relaxation, he'll become fatigued, exhausted. Short of breath, trembling, weak-kneed and all sorts of physical ailments. If he uses them in excess, or in dire circumstances, his mind will go ablaze and his body will start to shut down and he will only be able to function for so long after that, as if he'd been sleep deprived for an extended period of time. With rest, he will return to full strength and capacity.
General Skills
~Martial Arts - Mathias is moderately skilled at hand to hand combat, having a distaste for weapons of pretty much any kind. He prefers non-violence, but is by no means a pacifist. His skills are a development of necessity.
~Music - Mathias enjoys playing his violin and has started to find a niche with it, learning all he can from various musicians he meets in his travels. However, this is mostly a pass-time for long wagon rides, boat cruises, and such.
History
Mathias has existed before. Mathias will most likely exist again. In essence, existance is not any sort of perspective, nor foresight, nor hindsight. There is no past or future - simply the reality of now. Mathias was a boy, uncertain in his direction and unknowing of his place in life. Whatever destiny he thought might have been deigned for him, was only particularly important at any moment that it proved to be. He was a breeze, blowing in whichever direction that seemed fit. Whomever he met and what he did eventually became irrelevant to the single, glaring revelation ; that all that mattered was what mattered at that very moment. What happened next wouldn't be even remotely important until it actually happened.
So he forgot. Whatever was before, whatever he wanted to do after - it all simply ceased to exist within the reality that he remembered. Realizing this, and coupling it with his revelation, it was all he could do but sit and ponder for what may have been days, or weeks, or months, or years. When he was finished, he came to the conclusion that there were places to be, people to see, and things to do. And from that moment on, he was affirmed in the certainty of his existance and the determination of his desire to move onward.
