To create or reuse...

Lurking around here today has made me want to rejoin this little old site that used to give me so much joy about three years back.

My question is, for those of you who remember him, do you think I should just tweak Koriku here and there and reuse him? He used to have a sister who was written by a friend at the time, so she wouldn't be around anymore. It would go from a brother/sister duo to just him on his own. The real question is, should I reuse him, or do you think I'd be best off making an entirely new character?

It depends. Do you still want an assassin character? Ask yourself that first, then base your answer to your question off of that answer.

If you want to keep him, you can just turn the sister into an NPC. If that's too much of a bother, then you can start fresh with a concept that might fight your current mindset better!

That, or you could just do a revision of your character, and change everything that's no longer relevant. That way, you get to keep the gist of your character, without all the loose ends.

Hmm, I never thought about making her into an NPC. Good idea, but not sure I want to bother with that...if I keep Koriku, I'll probably just think of a way to write her out of the story.

i remember Koriku! I think you should keep him as is, and just write his sister out of his story line somehow, but that's just my opinion. I thought Koriku was pretty cool.

well it sounds like you're really attached to Koriku. The best would have the two separate but not have it a big deal and happen out of the thread. That's just my idea and if she returns then you can regroup without much of a problem.

But either way what's the most fun is the best. A new character can be fun to.

If I were you I'd start from scratch, but just keep the name and whatever else you like about Koriku. You'll have better ideas now than you did three years ago, and you probably won't want to keep reading over your old profile to find out what Koriku's history is and all that.

I was thinking about this, but I really want to bring my actual character back and not recreate him. He will be heavily tweaked however, as he's going to be 5 years older.

Why not both? :) If you think that the twicks may alter the character too much that it doesent really look natural then you can do another one. You can reuse him and still make a new character, you can even make them meet for a short moment so thus their similarities.
