Collectors Items

As the owner of the synthesis shop explores the different areas of Althanas and meets new people she will make collectors items of which only a select few will be available of each. These items may be of some kind of use in battle or otherwise but are mostly for decoration and avid collectors who like her work. Collectors items do not need the character to bring in materials for them, instead they can be purchased for a price. [Broken or damaged plushies can be repaired for 15 GP]

Specialty Items:

Runes

Runes are special items designed for warriors who simply cannot control magic, or for users who have a hard time harnessing the elements. There are different kinds of runes varying in strength and elemental or even non-elemental power. Runes can be embedded into the user in one of three areas, left hand, right hand or forehead; some runes can only be embedded in some places though while others can go anywhere. These are not readily available to outsiders as they are a prized possessions of the Fae and Draconians. In order to get one of these one must acquire it through justified reasons in a quest i.e. you helped Dheathain in some way, or through The Bounty Board.

The level of the rune coincide with the level of the player, meaning that if you’re level six, you can use all the moves up to level five on the rune. Reaching level seven will of course unlock that ability as well. You’ll notice that the runes all come with basic moves that cannot be unique to any one individual. These are stock items of magic that will have the same attacks no matter who equips them. Also, the runes act as a channel, drawing in the characters energy and focusing it into the attack, meaning there is not necessarily a limit to how many times you can use these beyond your character’s own energy limit. The stronger the attack, the more energy it takes.

Fire Rune

Level one – Allows the user to call upon and spread flames across the surface of any kind of weapon. If they’re a fist fighter they can cast it on their hands, as the flames will not hurt the user. They will only feel the warmth from it. Be careful of what kind of metal your weapons are made of though, for some metals cannot withstand flame very well.

Level Three – Creates up to three spheres of fire with a radius of 3 inches that will launch themselves at the chosen target(s). The spheres burst apart in a small wave of flame when they come in contact with something.

Level five – A set of up to five flaming arrow like objects approximately 12 inches long are created that can be shot towards the enemy all at once, in groups or individually. These arrows are much more precise than the spheres and travel a lot faster. They can also pierce through some weaker armour like leather and few metals that are weak against magic.

Level seven – Creates streams of flame that rise up from the ground, arch over at a given height of roughly seven feet and then fall back to the ground. These streams of fire do not all rise at once, but instead appear in random succession not always aimed at a specific target but also the area around them. The fire streams are usually ten feet long and one foot wide, and during the entire attack up to seven of them can rise from the ground.

Level nine – A ring of fire appears around the user, gradually wrapping them in a wall of flames. When it reaches a height of seven feet, it bursts forth, sending waves of fire out for around 5-10 seconds and incinerating anything in its path.

Water Rune (Right Hand)

Level One - Calls forth a dense and cold fog that covers the area around the user for roughly thirty to forty feet in all directions. Visibility is drastically reduced and the cold is biting against any bare skin, including upon the user. This move must be using carefully and strategically. The fog naturally maintains itself for two minutes then begins to dissipate.

Level Three – Allows the user to channel energy into their right hand, creating a thick looking clear liquid that resembles water. The liquid is placed upon wounds and has an incredibly powerful healing property. Minor wounds heal almost instantaneously, while medium wounds would take in the vicinity of one to three hours depending on their severity. And major wounds would take anywhere from six hours to two days.

Level Five – Summons up to five large icicles that can be as long as one foot with a width of three inches at the widest end. The amount of energy the user has determines the amount of icicles they can summon and how big they are. These icicles are sent flying towards the chosen target(s) at the summoner’s command and attempt to embed themselves into the body. Once inside, they are difficult to remove and hard to break, and though the wounds do not bleed very much they slowly begin to lower the internal temperature of the person. Also, if they hit a hard surface instead of the target, they tend to break apart into many tiny shards.

Level Seven – Channels energy into the ground, freezing whatever water is found deep within. Then forces the water upwards in long spikes that explode from the dirt under the feet of the target(s). These spikes are long and thin, being anywhere from two to seven feet in length and one to three inches in width. Unlike the icicles they are more brittle and can be broken with greater ease, but there are much more of them, a single attack having anywhere from five to twelve. Like the icicles, their length, width and amount, is all chosen by the energy level of the user.

Level Nine – Creates an exact replica of the user or someone else they wish it to be of. The replica can act and fight like the person it has copied but cannot speak for it is made of pure water and mist, giving it the illusion of real form. Strikes to the body will be like passing a weapon through water and though this does not do much damage to the replica, it cannot regenerate itself. Continuous strikes or the removal of limbs will drain the water it is made of and eventually cause the double to fall apart. Is vulnerable to fire.

Earth Rune

Level One – It heightens the defence of the user and up to two other chosen allies, making their skin tougher to the point of rock and able to deflect most sharp objects, though still feeling half of the effects of a blunt blow. The enchantment also increases their resistance to pain and the body’s endurance to the amount of blows it can withstand. The enchantment lasts for roughly one to two minutes.

Level Three – Channels the user’s energy, turning it into vine like plants that sprout from the ground and wrap around up to four different targets. Their grip is as strong as steel and though they are mainly used to hold on in place, they can also strangle their chosen target. The vines also have small thorns on them capable of scraping along the skin and creating small welts and cuts. After twenty to thirty seconds, they become brittle and very easily break away.

Level Five – Summons up to eight larges spikes of rock that erupt from the ground at the chosen target(s) feet. These spikes vary in size from three feet to over ten feet tall and they’re width is usually around one foot as well. The outside edges of them are sharp and jagged with shards of rock, making any kind of contact with them particularly hazardous.

Level Seven – Channelling energy into the ground, making it erupt around the chosen target(s), encasing them in a stone prison anywhere from five to twelve feet in height. Once the walls reach their maximum height, they begin to crumble from the top down, trapping the target(s) under several hundred pounds worth of rock and dirt.

Level Nine – Creates a severe storm that covers the sky in dark gray clouds for several miles. Once the storm has reached its pinnacle, rocks begin to fall from the ground varying in from the size of an orange to twice the size of someone’s head. The rocks are red hot and would easily burn anything that they came in contact with, plant, animal or human alike. The density of the barrage depends on the energy of the user, as does the amount of time it lasts for, which varies from thirty seconds to one minute. (This attack does not discriminate between friend and foe.)
