No IRC to my knowledge.

The Java chat can be revived if we all start going to it again. AIM chats just randomly popped up.

The Java chat is, in fact, an IRC chat room. The Java part of it is just a client.

I'd be interested in having the chat room become more popular. Unfortunately, it seemed to never really take off (given the dwindling popularity of IRC, I'd imagine). If it's something people are interested in, I'd be more than happy to put some resources behind having the room be more advertised and use more reliable software.

I'd probably use it myself, for I don't really use AIM. I just don't feel like downloading it up on my comp, that's all.

The AIM thing was user-run anyway, not a mod thing. If you want it back, all you have to do is go to room "Althanas Chat" on AIM and invite Althanians to join.

That's the extent of its complexity. It had revivals throughout time as people would recall it and bring it back. If you want, I don't imagine it'd be hard to revitalize the habit.

I would love an IRC room. I'm always in IRC in one form or another, and am always looking for people to chat with.
