Afra walked slowly on the soft spongy soil of the arena, she could tell that the dark, clay walls went up at least 30 feet all around. She held her iron schimitar at the ready for the unknown opponent. She took a moment to take in her surroundings, tall evergreen trees, soft spongy soil and dirt mounds covered with bush placed randomly around the circular arena. The arena had no animals in it, she could here no rustles, no bird song, and no light footsteps of deer on the strange soil. It was dark, but there was a strange golden light wafting from the presumed ceiling, but it was not the flickering, dancing light of fire. It appeared cold and still, paralyzed. "Magic" she said, quietly, to herself.
