Name: Tye Sanafar
Age: 20
Race: Human
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Teal
Height: 5’11
Weight: 152 lbs
Occupation:Scout

Personality: A shy and sweet young man who is polite and respectful to others. He is adamant in his personal beliefs

Appearance:Tye Sanafar is the kind of young man who would never stand out as being strikingly handsome, nor would he be considered unattractive. He does, however, prefer to carry a gentle smile on his youthful face at all times in order to keep those around him uplifted. His eyes – the most striking of any of his features – seem to give off a feeling of unbiased friendliness, and lately, they have obtained a habit to become more brilliant when the youth becomes inspired. His hair always refuses to fall into place, his clothes are never properly tucked in, and he can never get that ugly spot of mud off of his super boots when he needs to most. Nevertheless, he tries his best to look presentable in his uniform. He also has a rather slender body with toned muscles – evidence that he is physically fit enough for rigorous travel and hard labor. Tye keeps both of his longswords strapped across his back by using the loops built into his uniform. From the distance, they appear to be sheathed weapons of metal, but anybody close enough can tell that they are just wooden-based.

Clothing: A Vaneek Scout uniform, including; Short-sleeved jacket (leather), black undershirt (linen), white baggy pants (denim), a belt, and magical boots.
History: At least enough to tell us how he got to where he is and give us an idea of why he is the way he is.

History of Vaneek and the Vaneek Schools of Combat:
During a time of unrest in the hearts of heroes and wizards… a wise sorcerer and a group of soldiers from a distant, ruined city came to the shores of Corone with hopes of a new life. Finding comfort and safety on a tree-ridden, rock-covered peninsula on the southern beaches of the large, new world, they made it their home. And, with one commanding and well-thought decision, the sorcerer named their new home Vaneek.

Vaneek gathered the attention of other refugee warriors and wizards that hailed from broken armies and destroyed cities, and quickly earned the reputation has being a haven for the common fighter. With such a strong collection of similar people massing together and building homes for a well-run society, the men and women in charge decided it would be best to establish an official army and school for combat. The founder of this institution was known as Leo Jarronson, and the school was called the Jarronson Academy for Combat.

The academy grew along with the town. As more and more people flooded into the growing city, the classes offered at the academy changed for the better. Magic, chemistry, and a variety of melee combat techniques were taught by hardened veterans at the school, and the well-trained students would all eventually graduate to become explorers and warriors that held the Jarronson name in their banner.

However, over the years, the Jarronson family began to experience some troubles. First, Leo Jarronson – who had just recently left the Academy to his son, Gerodi Jarronson – was murdered. The culprit was never caught, and as such, Gerodi increased the amount of hard work and gold put into the training of soldiers at the Academy. Even his daughter, Kaylee Jarronson, decided to enroll in the program. And thus, the town flourished.

Then housing around 500 civilians and an equal amount of warriors and wizards, Vaneek had hit a high-point in its short life. However, tragedy struck the town once again. On the coldest of mornings, two scouts from the town returned with the body of the beloved Kaylee Jarronson, mangled and abused. The town officials knew this had to be the handiwork of the renowned criminal that had been prowling about – Valentina Snow. However, much to the town’s concern, Gerodi Jarronson took his life the following night after he heard of his daughter’s death, and the schools were left without a dean.

It was then that the town elected new leaders to run the school – a board of righteous scholars and the wisest of warriors. Under their new guidance, the school was transformed into something that taught its students to fight for peace, not to kill. Deadly blades and harmful spells were only given to the most crucial of assassin ranks, but everybody else was trained to carry weapons capable of keeping the peace – wooden clubs, swords, and performance-hindering spells – rather than lethal ones. Many townsfolk broke away from these new customs and left the village, but others embraced them with a kind heart.

Tye Sanafar was one of these people.

History of Tye Sanafar

Born and raised in the town of Vaneek, Tye remained shy throughout his earlier years of education. Because he wasn’t very interested in combat, he had chosen to visit the schools designated for apprentice wizards and chemists. However, once he hit the age of eleven, Tye realized that such a locked-up life wasn’t for him. He wanted to explore.

Thus, the very next day after deciding, Tye enrolled in the Jarronson Academy for Combat. He wasn’t a bad student, nor was he good – he was just average at just about every class the school had to offer. He often felt discouraged because of this, but those feelings were washed away when he finally ran into two boys that seemed to have it all – skill, fame, and looks. Tye developed a close friendship with these two boys – Havard and Sullivan – and the three ended up staying together until their senior year at the school.

However, things changed. The school came under a new line of management. Tye didn’t truly mind this, because the way the school reformed was very fitting to his own personal beliefs, and that of Havard’s. Sullivan, on the other hand, didn’t agree with the whole idea about peace for everybody and the lack of true violence. Thus, Sullivan switched classes and joined the Vaneek Assassin league. Havard remained in the same school as Tye, but chose to join the ranks of the town’s personal guards. Being adventurous at heart, Tye chose the life of a Vaneek Scout, effectively – though with great regret – leaving his friends behind.

All three graduated, and each was given their own personal missions, much like every other graduate at the great schools of Vaneek. Nevertheless, Tye held close to him the hope of seeing his friends and family again someday, and he smiled as he took his first step on the trail that led to adventure.

Assigned to Captain Andrew’s Exploration Party, Tye was able to make a couple new friends within the first few hours of his adventure – Latanya, a scout like himself, and Zax, a Warrior-Class Soldier. The three listened to their captain’s orders as they protected a caravan that was to be delivered to Concordia. Along the way, Tye helped solve the mystery of the Werepossum, a devilish creature, and, in light of his victory over the beast, named his oak sword the Possum

Upon arriving in Concordia, Tye was faced with true battle for the first time. A group of bandits belonging to the famous group known as the Bandit Brotherhood attacked him and a group of other adventurers. Tye watched as a handful of lives were lost, and it sickened him how cruel the world outside of Vaneek could be.

On a trip to Radasanth for a bit of supplies, Tye and Latanya got into a slight mix-up with a group that hailed from the distant land of Lornius. After a brief moment of conflict, Tye was defeated, and Latanya was kidnapped, only to be taken away to the gang’s homeland. Tye, feeling entirely responsible for her capture, reported the incident to Captain Andrew, and he was then ordered to search out Latanya on his own while the Captain and Zax continued on with the original mission of protecting the caravan. Trusted with the life of Latanya, Tye set out for Lornius, enlisting the aid of the elf, Lysander Enferil. Knowing that the Lornius gang wished for Tye to participate in the Lornius Corporate Challenge, Tye asked the elf Lysander if he would be his partner for the tournament, and thus, Oak and Steel was born.

Oak and Steel fought hard through the first round of the LCC – a fight that lead to the naming of Tye’s Yew Sword. He dubbed it the Return during a moment of intensity in the middle of the fight, and – even though Tye had his first taste of death in the match – Oak and Steel ended up the victors and advanced to round 2.

Sadly, Lysander and Tye were defeated in the second round, leaving both of them to cope with their losses outside of the tournament. However, unhappy gamblers took it upon themselves to start trouble with Oak and Steel. Eventually, this led to the duo to Latanya’s whereabouts, where Vaneek, Tye, and everything else that the boy valued was changed forever.

After returning to the nation of Corone, Tye learned of Vaneek’s participation in the Gisela Open. Concerned, Tye strived to prepare himself emotionally, physically, and mentally for the challenges that rested before him. Reaching new heights he never though possible, the youth set out for Gisela, intending to stop the tournament all on his own.

He failed. The world had their glorious tournament full of pointless chaos and war, all for fame and riches to be bestowed on a handful of greedy generals. Even Vaneek’s leaders, who Tye believed to be of pure heart, were corrupted by the possible power and glory. Vaneek’s ranks crumbled, soldiers who already questioned the beliefs of the their city began to leave. Warriors and wizards became fewer and fewer with each passing month until at long last, the city of Vaneek became nothing more than another fishing town on the border. No heroes would be born their any longer. But one still journeyed, searching for his purpose, protecting and preserving life where he could.

Skills:
Level 0
Scouting: Tye is adept in exploring carefully in order to obtain information, observing situations under pressure, and evaluating other men and women – though this skill is often forgotten when he is in a comfortable situation around those he trusts.

Swordplay: Tye is also skilled in the use of lightweight swords to the point where he can hold his own in a one-on-one duel against another of equal or greater skill. However, the Vaneek scouts – under a recently developed code – are trained in the use of wooden weaponry that isn’t sharp enough to cut, for the sake of keeping bloodshed to a minimum. Thus, Tye has no real experience in metal blades, but does fight well with a wooden sword.
~ Level 1 Upgrade: Tye, having experienced real combat, has developed his abilities so that they are greater than before. He has also begun experimenting with a style of combat that utilizes two swords instead of just one, and – because his weapons are made of wood – he is able to wield the large weapons deftly.
~ Upgraded Ability for Level 2: Tye Sanafar is now able to fight with his swords with greater skill than before, and he is also able to use his spirit through them. This, in turn, allows Tye to deflect magical attacks with a swat of his weapons (as long as they are crafted mostly out of wood and in the sword shape.) Magic of a lesser level than Tye can be swatted away and redirected; magic of a equal level to Tye can only be blocked and dispersed in the surrounding air (sometimes harming Tye,) and magic of higher level than Tye cannot be fully blocked without wounding the boy. Magic of the fire element cannot be blocked.

Level 1
Vaneekian Vision: With his teal eyes, the boy developed the ability to analyze and read other’s abilities. Tye can understand all of the abilities of a character without having seen them in action, but the character must be at a lower level than him. If the character is of equal level, Tye can only detect that character’s level 0 abilities. If the character is of a higher level than Tye, the boy cannot read them at all. This ability takes eye contact and can be done dozens of times in a single day, as it is not very draining on the boy.

Level 2
Hero: Innate Attributes
Great talent and natural magic lies within every Vaneekian soldier.
Agility: Now, Tye is more agile during combat, can perform daring acts of acrobatics deftly, and is a lot harder to hit than before.
Elemental Resistance/Weakness: Tye is very vulnerable to fire magic and the element of fire. He is, however, resistant to the elements of earth, wind, and water.

Equipment:
Wooden Sword – The Possum: This weapon is crafted out of some the hardest and finest oak the nearby forests near Vaneek has to offer. It is smooth, has a comfortable, leather-wrapped handle, and the Vaneek symbol carved into the guard. Its sides are blunt, its point is just sharp enough to stab into softer soil, and it is about four feet in length. This type of weapon is given out to all scout-class men and women enrolled in the Vaneek Schools of Combat. It was named during the fight with the mysterious Werepossum.

Wooden Sword – The Return: This weapon was purchased at the Bazaar in Corone in a shop familiar with items from Tye’s homeland. It is still a standard Vaneek Issue blade, and it is constructed out of yew. It resembles Tye’s Oak sword in many ways aside from its apparent flimsiness – this quality makes the weapon much better at thrusting than its lesser counterpart. This weapon was named during the first round of the Lornius Corporate Challenge.

Wooden Sword – Unnamed: This wooden sword is nearly identical to the Possum, but is crafted out of trakym and has not yet been given a name
Leather Bracers: Simple leather bracers covering the forearms.
Super Boots: These boots are crafted out of artic-hide leather and are enchanted to allow the wearer to jump 33% higher than normal
Health Syrup: Smooth and tasty medicine primarily used as a painkiller – one swig will do wonders – but is also known to help small cuts and abrasions heal quicker if it is applied to the wound. Tye always keeps his flask in a pouch on his belt, and when he runs out of the handy drink, he usually has it refilled by visiting the chemists
