Making The Band

While talking with the Manda, a cute little thread idea occurred to me.

"What if we could make ourselves a pseudo-modern rock/pop band on Althanas?"

-We'd have our frontman/vocalist, who'd be an obvious self-centered, pretty-boy/girl narcissist. (Hopefully me)
-We'd have the second in command (guitarist more likely than not), who's thinking about a solo career. (Seth_Rahl)
-There'd be the lone wolf (bassist?) enjoys vice in every fashion possible. (Bohemia)
-Then there's the weird one (violin, keyboard/piano, triangle?) that seems out of place and often acts eccentric. (HikariAngel)
-And of course, the drummer. He hits stuff and likes it. Crazy mooky drummer....(016573)
-NEW! Music prodigy!(Second guitar) (Sonata)
-Hot candy as-I mean, back-up female vocals! (Lasair)


Possible Positions:
Back-up vocals.
Second guitar.

There'd be an NPC manager that's a recent import from Earth, who use to manage bands there. He finds what he can from wizards and goats and skeletons of Althanas.

Sign up if you're interested. It won't be terribly serious, and I can imagine the infighting will be as much fun as the groupies we bone.

If you want a female lead vocalist, Lasair could do that. She doesn't really know how to play instruments at this point in time, but she an extremely quick learner. Oh, and I've got plushies for back-up singers if you want them. ^^

Don't worry about capability, Ifrit could somehow find he has a natural talent for the guitar.

I know I shouldn't be doing this at all. I really know it, but I like Sona too much to let her die. Either way, the main archetype that she'd be would probably be along the lines of actually being a musical prodigy and playing only for the music. That, and not really caring that much about appearances and money as well. That, and Sona'll be able to play several instruments as needed.

This isn't just a cover to try and get a Gibson cherry-red firebird guitar.

Obviously the NPC was transported with the instruments! The problem is, however, where do we get the power to use them from?

That's what I thought, but I just wanted it to be confirmed. A giant energizer bunny would be one hell of an enemy to fight...thing is like Pyramid head from silent hill, it has to let you kill it for hell's sake.

But yeah, witchy's right, and electricity mage would do the trick.

Pyramid Head was a bitch, though when you could attack him with his own sword -- The Great Knife -- that rocked.

I don't think there's any other way to do it, unless ou get complicated with like crystals from Dheathain or something like that. Maybe some advanced technology from Alerar, but then again I don't think it's advanced enough for electricity there. But Cory would know better than I would since he was the region writer for Alerar at one point in time.

As for electicity, if the guy from earth knew the basics of it, he could instruct a lightening mage to help out with voltages and stuff. other wise we could always get another wizardy thing to just make the correct distortions as we need them.

Though, the crystels might ge good for microphones or something.

Acoustic would be fine. And practical. And awesomer. But as an alternative, Josh could drum from a stationary bicycle which powers the mics. Would make it hard to work the bass drum through.

I'd prefer some sort of electric if possible; you just can't do as much with an acoustic piano as you can do with a keyboard synthesizer.

If the NPC was transported from Earth with the gear, he'd probably have electric, I'd guess, because that's what most bands today have. I like the enchanting crystals to use for microphones.

On that same line, an enchanted piano that provides the lighting effects would be pretty sweet, too.

First off, we're not playing acoustic (grandspa's guitars) instruments. We'll figure something out for powering them, probably crystals or a mage or Jesus.

So whoever posts last has to have us all get up an bunny us all to agree to join the band in a big circle, hand in kind of thing, to help end the scene.

I plan on elaborating on history in my next post, as we set up. He'll have instruments and costumes saved up in trunks for us all.
