Hey peoples, I want to get started on some sort of quest here, but I'd rather not make an open one that isn't going anywhere. So I'm looking for anyone who's either starting, recently started, or is interested in a quest of some sort. You know the kind, with adventure, intrigue, character building, and violence.

I'd be happy to start a quest myself, and I've got some interesting but relatively simple ideas, if people want to do that. I'd just rather have someone to talk it over with and have an idea of what we want to do with it before I start throwing posts around =P

Hmm, I'll be willing to quest with you. I know exactly how you feel with threads falling apart on me left an right. But, I don't know how much I'll be able to post in the comming weeks. Tech for my school play is going to go into overdrive starting next week. But after the first full week in December, after the play, I'll have plenty of time. So, how about it?

That sounds cool. I've actually got school for another 5 weeks, and I don't know that I'll be able to post very frequently over the next few weeks. Want to get something started at a pretty casual pace, and then pick it up when we've both got some more free time? I'd be interested to see what Kyros would think of Mirena's reasonable and totally not zealous actions. <.< >.>

I'm thinking I'd like to set this quest in Scara Brae. In the craggy foothills of the far west edge of the Windlacer Mountains you can find Silverglen, a small town that represents the edge of 'civilization,' and about as far as the Crown's authority touches. Every settlement you'll find beyond its rough timber walls is likely nothing more than a miner's outpost, a trappers camp, or a den of thieves.

Totally cool with me!! I just hope that we can get to the end of the thread, and have a great time in the middle.

Hmm, Scara Brea, huh? I've never worked there before. But then again, I don't really care. Do you have any ideas for a plot? PM me the details, and then we can get started!!:)

I figure it's as good a place as any. On top of that, reading the histories of various places, a little town off in the backwaters of Scara Brae seemed to make the most sense anyway. Not like we'll be there anyway though.

Right, so here's a map of Hweoren (hweh-OU-rehn). I'll PM with details on what I think the plot should be, and we can discuss. Also, I think having a third person might be nice, if anyone's interested? It'll be lots of fun, I swear <.< >.>

Scale: The town is about 600ft wide at the middle, and 900ft top to bottom. Inside the city, my scale kind of exploded around, so take everything there with a grain of salt.

Orientation: Kind of sideways. Left is south, right is north.

1: Craftsmens' Ring. Back in the founding of the town, when it was nothing more than a pit stop between the ports to the south and the miner's camps up north, Craftsmens' Ring was where all the, well, ya know, craftsmen, set up shop. Now that the town's grown, there's certainly dozens of other places hidden around town, but the ones at the Ring are the best. Or at least, the most expensive.

2: Town Hall: Not much to say here. One main building where they hold any sort of court or council procedures, with a few offices thrown in. Next to it is the guardhouse, which is pretty small. There's about 100 men in the guard. 2 watch from each tower along the wall, with four at each gate.

3: Trader's Ring. Similar to the Craftsmens' Ring, this is where the merchants, inn(and bar)keeps set up shop. There's two main inns in Silverglen, the Silver Kestrel and the Golden Ash. Aside from various shops, you can also find the odd merchant train passing through the town, either coming from the east, headed south, or the other way around.

4: The burn. A couple months ago, there was a fire that grew out of control, and wiped out a surprisingly large amount of the town. No one knows how it started, and it few too fast for the ill prepared citizens to put it out before it did serious damage. More than a few people died or were badly burned, and there was a lot of conflict in the aftermath.

The guardtower nearest the burn was destroyed, and a new one is under construction.

5: The Old Man's house. An enterprising merchant by the name of Joril Blaine, who helped found Silverglen, made his fortune there, though some still wonder about his methods. Blaine had himself built a big fancy house, got a family. That family has all but run Silverglen until about a hundred years ago, when his decedents vanished. Since then, the empty house has decayed greatly. Wild trees, and rose bushes ten feet high dominate what's left of the garden, and the gate has long since turned to a solid block of rust.

6: The rat trap. The rat trap is a gloomy maze of twisting alleys and dank, cheap houses occupying a fair portion of the town by the northern wall. No where else will you find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. Well... I mean unless you go somewhere else that's bigger and more important.

7: Wind Gate. The northern gate of Silverglen is primarily used by the miners and folk coming out of the mountains to make a living. The road leading out of it goes up past Watchmen's Crag, and straight into the mountains. It's known as the wind gate because every evening the winds blows down from the mountains and through the gate, howling and pushing at anyone nearby.

8: City Gate: The eastern gate of Silverglen follows one of the more major roads in the area, and eventually leads to Sess-Terria and on to Scara Brae city, hence the name.

9: Thorn Gate: Leading south out of Silverglen toward Brokenthorn, the Thorn gate is used by the merchants and travelers going the long way around from the bigger cities off to the western coast.

Edit: The town's name has been changed to Silverglen, as Hweoren was toooo fancy. Silverglen is kind of cool, with the added bonus of being just cliche enough to fit the personalities of the people who would've sat around and decided to name their town something pretty, that way people would come visit the dusty little place.

Well, I'm interested.

I can already coordinate with Kovalia fairly well using Skype, and am doing so. If you want to get in touch, Kyros, feel free.

Hmmm... lots of K names....
