View Full Version : We're responsible citizens of the world, right?
And as such, we might be able to devote a little time to make a few mouse clicks and devote our time to putting food into hungry mouths.

Each word you get right, you donate 10 grains of rice to help feed the starving.

Do they count out the individual grains?
I earned upwards of 150 grains in a couple of minutes.
I don't know if they count out the individual grains.
I got ~2,600 tonight, but I'll get back to it tomorrow.

I earned 10 grains of rice after several hours of play. At least now some peasant can trade his 10 grains for a copy of The Fountainhead and learn the value of individual responsibility so he quit waiting for a government handout.
Or maybe he could buy a Bible.

Someone better down those 40 grains of mine with love and adoration in their heart for me. Now I get a medal for my selfless philanthropy, right?
Let's turn this into a contest. See what vocab level you can get to... without cheating.
I've gotten to 40. Then I found out that answering wrong brings your level down. I'm at 35-36 right now.

I was around level 35.
400 grains of rice. You should lose rice when you miss a question.
Just hit 41. 2920 grains of rice and counting.
That would be funny, but I have no faith in the intelligence of your average Joe. They'd end up having to give us rice because we missed more words than we got right.

I got to 9 in binary. Then I realized the rice wasn't for me.
Confound it!

I was at 44, couldn't quite break 45, but I plan on keeping trying.
But to be entirely honest, if these people are going to die, they'd better do it, and cut down on the excess population!

Can I please have Christmas off, sir? Tiny Tim so looks forward to me at my awful hovel so that I may join him in disgusting traditional English dishes.
Dammit, Madison. I felt intelligent before you came in with your 45-ness. :p
I hit 42, with 4720 grains and counting now.

I hit 43 with about 650.
I'm so proud of myself right now.
I reached level 47. 13,280 grains of rice. That comes out to 1,328 words. That comes out to... a huge waste of time.

47? Nice. But I will add that I was at 44 with less than 2,000 grains. ;) But a lot of those words were archaic English words, and so I sort of have an advantage: I've read J.R.R. Tolkien all my life.
