View Full Version : Turkey Day: The Domino Effect

I know there isn't a Thnksgiving in Althanas, but I had a funny idea. It's a quest where you only post one time, so it gives a lot of people a chance to post. It's funny, weird, and crazy. I think you will like it.

The Story: An unnaturally large and mysterious turkey has been spotted wandering around the city, aimlessly following random citizens (us unfortunately). It just... Follows you. It does nothing else. The guards and whatnot have felt not to do anything hostile due to the fact that it isn't really hurting anybody, they hope that it will just leave sooner or later. The turkey picks out a victim and chases him or her, and is a pretty good chaser. Once you think you've lost it, it pops up around the corner.

You like it? It's not the most serious quest, but it's pretty cool to see some funny stuff people can come up with when they've got a turkey pursuing them. It'll be funny to see some characters' reactions. You up for it?

I'll post the thread up once I get some takers. I'd say 15 people is a good amount to do this. The limit is 1 post, max. It can be long, short, whatever, but only 1 post. I get to do 2 though, because I'm special. Bwahahaha. One at the beginning and one at the end. Also, try and do things chronologically, the quest will start in the morning and as posts go by try and estimate how much time has passed. One full day will have passed at the end of this.

Thread is here. (http://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php?t=9503)

This seems like it could be a lot of fun. What the heck, I'm always down for something different.

I'm up for giving it a shot :)

Time for the godly clash of the teddy bear and the enlarged turkey. Let the games begin!

The Archer
11-24-07, 01:21 PM
I'm in.

Slayer of the Rot
11-24-07, 01:37 PM
My family blasted a chicken and cooked salmon for Thanksgiving; I am in the mood for turkey.

Komosatuo
11-24-07, 01:41 PM
It will never find me!

Good to hear it, my friends. Okay that's 6 people not including me, I think we can get this started soon.

Rok the Blade
11-24-07, 03:05 PM
I'm gonna just throw it up soon, it'll be in Radasanth. Let' s just have the order be the same as the list above, so first come first serve. So I'll put it up then J can go whenever he wants.

Call me J
11-24-07, 03:07 PM
I'll post some time today. Don't worry people, I won't take up too much time.

Rok the Blade
11-24-07, 03:46 PM
Good deal, J. The thread is up, I gave it a slightly funny kickstart. The real comedy comes from everyone else's response.

Hope that post didn't violate your no novel clause, I felt obligated to write something good since I ended up going first.

Rok the Blade
11-24-07, 04:15 PM
No problem. I actually don't mind, personally, I don't even know why I said that. I'll read it.

Edit: Oh that's perfectly fine. Not too big at all. And there's still a bunch of spots open for people who want to jump in. 9 to be exact, so hop right in.

Nymph and Dragon
11-24-07, 06:08 PM
This looks like fun! Count me in, please.

Rok the Blade
11-24-07, 06:10 PM
You're added, thanks for the enthusiasm. Hopefully this turns out funny and cool.

Stuffed Fury
11-24-07, 07:23 PM
Yay it's my turn! Won't this be funny.

Call me J
11-24-07, 08:52 PM
Stuffed Fury, do you watch Scrubs?

Stuffed Fury
11-24-07, 08:58 PM
Love that show. I watch it religiously. Why, did I do something similar to it inadvertently?

Call me J
11-24-07, 08:59 PM
you ripped off a line from Kelso, "turk.... turkleton...."

its not that big of a deal, but I couldn't help think of my favourite black surgeon when I read it.

Stuffed Fury
11-24-07, 09:03 PM
Oh yes, actually that is from Scrubs. It musta been on my mind since I watch that show, but I used the name without actually realizing that. Good call, I'm glad you read it. I thought it was funny, personally. Sasorick is a very humorous bear.

Call me J
11-24-07, 09:07 PM
Oh I enjoyed it too. It just made me wonder if you watched scrubs, or if it was the weirdest coincidence ever.

Rok the Blade
11-24-07, 09:27 PM
This is moving along wonderfully. Thank you all for participating.

I'm enjoying reading all the ideas and funny stuff your characters do when confronted with something... Extremely strange.

Cuddles!
11-25-07, 08:26 AM
Already met a stuffed toy,why not a cartoon character,I'll pop me name down.

Rok the Blade
11-25-07, 12:41 PM
I'll add your name to the list, thanks for joining. Next is who... Komo. Aight then.

Bloodrose
11-25-07, 07:57 PM
I'll throw my name in the hat.

Rok the Blade
11-25-07, 07:59 PM
Good deal, glad to hear it.

Rok the Blade
11-26-07, 08:09 PM
If uh... If Komo doesn't go soon then Nymph and Dragon can go. I really don't want this to be take like a month because in a month a turkey quest will have no meaning... There are still spots open too.

Karuka
11-27-07, 02:03 PM
If you don't mind that I've already got a character in it, I could put in Karu.

Seth_Rahl
11-27-07, 02:11 PM
Aaaaagh of course you have to do such a cool idea during one of my busy times! I loath you, rok.

Lol, see ya.

Rok the Blade
11-27-07, 04:37 PM
No problem Karuka, I'll throw ya up there.

Nymph and Dragon
11-28-07, 05:52 PM
Is it all right if I go ahead and post?

Call me J
11-28-07, 05:56 PM
You might as well. If Komo wants to post, we can just have him go after you. Then again, I suppose this is Rok's call.

Rok the Blade
11-28-07, 08:27 PM
Have at it, Nymph.

Edit: I see you're two steps ahead of me. Good good.

Bloodrose
11-28-07, 08:36 PM
I posted as well.

Herald

Is it too late to join the shenanigans?

Smoked turkey is Magnificent, after all.

Rok the Blade
11-29-07, 05:51 PM
Feel free, Herald. Lemme add you to the list.

- 4 spots left! Karuka is next.

I haven't been reading all the posts, so hopefully you all have been having time progress through the day. I'd say it's like evening now, give or take. Maybe earlier.

Herald
12-03-07, 04:54 PM
Should I go ahead and post? I don't want to cut off Karuka or anything, but it's getting to be December now...time for snowmen instead of turkeys.

Karuka
12-03-07, 07:54 PM
I'm writing my post up right now.

Rok the Blade
12-03-07, 08:04 PM
Good deal.

Karuka
12-03-07, 08:21 PM
And, yeah...done.

Herald
12-03-07, 09:03 PM
Roasted and posted.

Rok the Blade
12-03-07, 09:07 PM
That's everyone that has wanted to do it except Komo. We can end it now or wait... Doesn't matter to me.

Herald
12-03-07, 09:14 PM
Maybe he's such a good ninja the turkey couldn't see him, like he said before. ^_^

Checking his profile, that was the most recent post he made, but he has logged in since. I also seem to recall he has multiple accounts, but I'm not certain. It's your call, since you're the final post.

Melancor
12-07-07, 09:17 PM
he he, I'd like to see my serious character react to a mutant turkey following him.

Can I post? If it's not long enough already, ofcourse.

Rok the Blade
12-08-07, 07:04 PM
Go right ahead. I think this'll be the last post, unless Komo get's here quick.

Melancor
12-09-07, 09:19 PM
Done

Rok the Blade
12-10-07, 06:26 AM
Thank you for participating all. I think I will close things up now.

Komosatuo: I'm sorry that I am skipping you but I just don't want this to be prolonged. Turkey season is over, heh.
