For every issue of the Radasanthian Reader, I will post a thread asking people to post in it if they read the newspaper -- for every person who posts, 25 NPCs are assumed to have purchased the newspaper. Therefore, for Pullhearst to earn his 450 GP, at least 6 people will have had to post saying they read it. Pullhearst cannot earn more than 450 GP per issue without paying for a larger press.

I've had about three recent issues, but two of them were very small and should only count as one, collapsed together.

So...

Support the Radasanthian Reader! If you read it, post here and let us know so that I can earn some cash to keep up this little venture.

Not sure if you need us or our characters to have read it. If its the latter, please excuse the slight butchering of liquid time in order to give you your gold

The battle had been rough so far, and the last thing Jame wanted to do was read. However, the Radasanthian Reader had been a favorite of his as a child, and now in the midst of war, he felt as though he needed something to calm him down. Quickly, he began to flip through the pages. Seeing nothing but articles on the war, he just glossed over the headlines and sighed.

"Seems like Salvar's just as damned as we are," he thought. It was a very melancholy day.

Read it, and I can't believe I didn't know this thing even existed! Keep up the good work, Mr. Pullhurst.

Read it, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Glad to see your keeping up with the times, and I've always liked to see some commonality when it came to anthologies and other pieces of written work that multiple people put their time into. Keep up the good work!

Read it as well. It was enjoyed. Digested, too. That's some tasty paper and ink you use!

If this is supposed to be IC, then I'll edit in something and put all of the above as an OOC note.

The Saraelian chuckled softly as he read 'Is Althanas Under Assault?' Dan Lagh'ratham, or Kross, as he was known amongst Xem'Zund's forces crumpled the paper in his hand, and turned his eyes to the sky.

"Oh....they've no idea."

Read it, gave a tiny bit of IC. I enjoyed the layout, and I'm glad to see the paper back.

Karuka

Karuka normally wasn't one to stop and read about what was happening in the world around her; for her entire life, if she'd wanted to know something, she'd asked her runes.

Now that they'd abandoned her, she found herself longing for knowledge without a way to fulfill it, and when she saw a newsstand, she decided to take advantage of it, purchasing a copy of the paper and sitting down to read it over a cup of a hot liquid that was so bitter as to be vile.

When she finished, she set it down for someone else to read later.

"It appears...that Ragnarok was only beginning."

Peabody Polk sat in his office counting his money and tabulating the circulation statistics. With a frumpy but satisfied look on his face, he cursed and spoke aloud to no one in particular.

"Well I'll be damned...if just one more person buys this awful rag, I might just have enough money to buy a new printing press!"

Atzar

I read it, champ. Good stuff, as usual.

It wasn't often that Atzar got the chance to keep up with what was happening in the world. In fact, his only real opportunities came when he visited Radasanth.

The capital of Corone, however, was exactly where he found himself at that very moment. He leaned back in his chair, finding it difficult to absorb the latest news. He began to seriously consider traveling to Raiaera to offer his aid. He had always been interested in Istien, after all, and it would hardly do to see it destroyed before he saw it.

Zirkan snorted over his shoulder. "You humans and elves are a mystery to me," the little dragon muttered. "Why anybody would take so much pleasure in killing massive numbers of their own race, I'll never be able to understand."

Godhand

Godhand flipped a gold coin into the hand of a soot-cheeked newsie before picking up that morning's paper. He'd picked out some sort of hippie up-and-coming newspaper by mistake, but the crowds were annoying enough that he chose to keep it rather than heading back to the kid and making the switch. After heading back to his apartment and reading it, Godhand came to the conclusion that it was alright. Not great; alright. Whoever wrote it was good but used the sort of flowery expressions and cheap emotional heart-tugs that meant either a wide-eyed newbie or some jaded ink-jockey pretending to be a newbie. Either way, it deserved a response. The mercenary took a pen to paper and fired off a short letter to the editor.

"My dear Mr. William Pullhearst: It has come to my attention that your linguistic affectations on this paper are most vexatious. May I venture to remark that your manner of discourse makes you appear quite the fatuous merry-andrew?"

Ifrit shrugged as he read the paper. It was an early morning, and he had decided to pick up the paper out of mere curiousity. Lo and behold, it beheld more information that he thought.

In particular he was interested in this "war" that seemed to be going on, and a fleeting thought passed through his mind that he should go join the fight. Maybe someone is willing to pay for a good fight...he thought before brushing it aside. Ah, this battle had nothing to do with him, and he had had enough with blood and war to go join another.

"Let those fools sort it out..." He muttered irritably as he stood up, dropping the newpaper at the feet of a dirty old beggar, who picked up the paper as if it were gold.

Read it. Not bad, not bad at all.

Sonata

Sonata was never much for reading, but every once in a while she tried to grab the paper. It helped to pick one up to know enough of why she didn't like to read it that often. This particular paper was no exception, and the gril carefully folded it back up after finishing. She enjoyed it, as much the content would allow, but it was a little disconcerting.

She turned back to her music, playing off a couple small notes as she tried to think of what might be happening in her home soon.

According to your profile, you pay 150 gp/month...starting with September of last year, it means you owe 2250 GP to the ether of Althanas. Given that this thread entitles you to 900 gold, minus what you have now -- you owe 350 GP to Althanas. Gold will be given as requested, and will read "-350 GP."
