Blood Symphony: Tales of the Cross

I'm a new guy, sort of. This is a cool little bit I came up with after some quick thinking that, rather than do as a solo, I wanted to share with it a couple of other people.

Story: Elias is a demon, as you all know. Spawned from the depths of the abyss (or whatever Hell is on Althanas, still figuring that out). Well, obviously he doesn't like being stranded on Althanas, exiled from his own plane. There is an ancestral item, centuries old, that can return him there (thus the plot!). Ironically, the item is a cross, held by a very powerful and respected priest. Elias hears this by way of a rumor spreading across the city. Onto the next section!

The Rumor: Reports of sightings of demons and ghouls spread throughout the city as officials attempt to completely lock down a section of the city, well, because the rumors are true. Elias knows that this outburst of darkness is from the cross. Onto the next section!

The Cross: An ancient and powerful artifact created by a special sect of all-powerful demons (of course, related to Elias) centuries ago (ironically shaped like a religious cross), that has been handed down among priests from time to time. Probably been in a couple thieves hands too. The Cross is a powerful gateway that opens directly into the underworld (or again, whatever Althanas's Hell is, someone please tell me bwahaha). But it only opens when it senses that it's close to one of the special demons (Elias) and when it senses that, it opens up automatically. And stays open. So of course, because Elias isn't there to go into it, it remains open while demons spew forth endlessly. Like armageddon, barely.

So, of course, the stories are going to basically have the gang try and get into the locked down part of the city, then find the church while battling hordes of demons (maybe guards too, if Elias feels bloodthirsty) and then getting in the church and... DUN DUN DUUUUN. I can't tell you.

Your Part: I don't know exactly... Bwahaha. But only because I had planned on this being a solo, but I kinda wanna make it a semi-multi-part epic (i'm sure it won't be epic, but hey) with a couple people. A couple, 2, max. I don't need a big 5-person party for this. I'm leaning more towards evil characters, but you don't have to be. If you're interested, and have some ideas for how you can participate, tell me. As I type, I'm thinking of roles you people can play as. I also don't know what city it's gonna be in yet.

I'm in. You want another demon to go with, and I'm your man. Ifrit's going to be going full demon soon, so...*shrugs* this could be a good thread to do that. BTW, I looked at your profile, and it seems our demons have a bit in common, don't ya think? ;) You look like a good roleplayer who knows what he's doing, so I look forward to rping w/ you.

The Great Nether.

If you'd like a PC guard to battle later on in your thread when you get into the Church, I could do that.

That'd be interesting. Oh, and Forsaken? That character profile you probably looked at is old news. There are alot of things that are going to be changed, so i'm gonna revamp my profile pretty soon.

Okay Broken. But 2 things, 1) That probably won't be until (at least) the second part, you know, a whole new thread and whatnot. Also, it'd be a little dangerous being right in the heart of the place, wouldn't it?

Oh, okay then Seth.

I.E., that right arm of Ifrit's is gonna turn out to be somethin' special. Think fire. Lots of fire. And Amaterasu is gonna be a ranged attack.

Anyways, it'l be nice playing with a male demon character for once, instead of all these succubi and females. And yeah, I agree. going straight into enemy territory wouldn't be a good idea.

Also, I have an idea for this, it involves Ifrit's father. If you've ever read Dante's Inferno, Arioch is one of the Seven Dukes of Hell (rather, a Duke of Haidia in Althanas's case). Is there anything you want to work with on that?

Hmm, I'll have to think about it. Take notice people, you can still post your interest I haven't chosen *anybody* yet. I just wanna see what I've got to work with before I start pointin' mah lil finger.

I wouldn't mind maybe taking a stab at it with Anenfel. Although you're looking for more evil characters, I think a good guy thrown into the mix might be able to mix some things up.

Like, he's only in it to stop the demonic horde from spilling into the city, and has no real interest in helping you, but needs your help in order to stop the horde. I dunno, just a thought. Might make some nice story development. Does the Do-gooder plan on trying to stop you guys after his plans are finished? I dunno..but maybe. >=D

Elias is only trying to get to the cross so he can go home. I'm having trouble thinking of how people can join in, but I really do want to do it with a couple of people rather than alone, I think it'd be fun.

Meh, just a thought. Maybe he'd help you because he wants you to leave this plane.

That actually doesn't sound too bad. I can see Elias agreeing with that.

Nice, so if you'll have me, I'm aboard. This should be interesting.

Sure hop on. I don't know when I'll be starting it though. This weekend maybe.

Still looking for another person, maybe two if I feel like it, I dunno. I thought this idea would seem more appealing.

Well, if Seth is still interested, he could probably join. I mean, if you dont mind having another demon. Maybe he just wants some stuff to kill? I dunno.

EDIT: And this just came to mind, how exactly would we meet? Maybe you hired me as a mercenary? I'm kinda drawing a blank on that one.

Well, like I said the guards and officials will be closing a section of the city down, probably a large section (if this is too much, and won't be acceptable by mods, please tell), and they'll be blocking entrance of civilians. Elias will be trying to get in, saying he has to get in, and maybe that's when the characters meet up. Maybe you can have some reason for your character to have to go inside also, for any reason you want, and so they decide to help eachother.

Well, if it gets to a point that the city you're gonna have this in wont be allowed by the mods, you can just have the thread in the Other Regions section and just make up a city or something.

And I'm not sure about that type of meeting. It seems too...cliched to me.

Plus, if I'm getting the vibe I think I'm getting from Elias, he'd be the type to have something this major planned ahead.

I'm still on for it. I'm going to have it take place after Ifrit changes, so I'll put it that it's liquid timed. As he'll have new abilities, if he uses one i'll put that itl be in his new skill list.

Planned ahead...? It's all abrupt. He wanders into the city because he has nothing better to do in his exiled existence, and things go chaotic, he hears rumors that a Cross is spewing forth a large number of demons from within a chapel in the middle of a section of the city, so he - knowing what it is and why it's happening - seeks out to find it. I don't know anything about planning.

I don't mind you joining Seth, as long as you can think of some reasons for your character to get involved.

Well, then since it is abrupt, the guards will need time to organize a full "lockdown" right? Why not have our guys hear about the nasties and slip in during the chaos?

Seth is still searching for his father at this point, so any rumor of demons and supernatural beings he follows with an intensity. It'll be easy to bring Ifrit in.

Sounds good. Also, I would assume that being in a city with a good military, they should be able to effectively lock up things quickly. I mean, the demons will be coming out on one side of the city when Elias is on the other, so it would take awhile for him to even reach the gate. I don't know, we'll see. I plan on making the thread soon (this weekend maybe) but don't actually post in it until I say, please.

Righty-o. I'll make a note when I post that this is liquid timed for Ifrit and that almost everything about him is a level 1 change.
