Quote:
I am dreaming.
Was I dead? It felt like I was dead. I can no longer tell the difference between life and death anymore. All I know is I've been running from myself for a long time. What was the last thing I remembered? Oh yeah. Traveling from my homeland in Fallien and ending up in Raiaera. I barely remember all of it now. The war in Valinatal, the destruction of that fair city at the hands of Netha'Tu, and now, leaving the city with the survivors. It was all coming back to me. I'd found the survivors at the site in Valinatal and we're supposed to travel through the Red Forest towards Anebrilith. I remember the Blood Vine. Yes. That bastard creation...that's why I was here after all staring at the wild lands of my people. I'd come to this place a few times in my life before but never as strongly as this. Before, they were quick trips into the wild, like a human addicted to heavy narcotics. There one moment, gone the next. This must be what a bad trip felt like. All around me, the sense of pain bombarded my body. It was an intense sort of pain that made me think less of the blood vine and more about survival.
Surrounding me was an oasis. I looked about and saw that the sands around me bore fruit of the earth mother. I looked up and saw the familiar sun above Fallien. Our own little world isolated away from the rest of the cruel world that was Althanas. Lord Mitra. His beauty shone upon the land adding light to the world beneath him for all eternity. Several desert trees grew around the single nourishing lake. I looked upon the crystal clear blue waters and drank of its comforting substance. I felt refreshed. Symbols floated in the water that were archaic nature, the symbols of my ancestors in the ancient tongue. It was a dialect of blood lizards I was unfamiliar with in my studies so far. The symbols floated about like fish, dancing amongst one another and sometimes combining together to form more complex symbols.
I looked up and saw that the clouds were pink. Within the clouds were faces that wore eternal smiles. A similar such face was upon the physical manifestation of Lord Mitra. And wouldn't you know it? I could've sworn that those eyes winked at me just now. A girl appeared before him, scale clad and beautiful. She was a woman from my tribe, one I had never seen before and she called for me to give chase with predatory pheromones. And so I find myself running through the sands after her.
She was a pretty girl. A complicated series of horns on the back of her head formed an almost dread lock hair style. The horns were long and proud. I followed her person through the dune sea, chasing her for an eternity it seemed. He scales were orange coloured and her eyes shone a bright red just like my own. Her tail was long and well muscled. There were many tribal markings upon her. Finally, after ages of running after her, she stopped and I leaped upon her person, pinning her to the ground. She wore a grin.
"Son of Vexxum Vordic. We meet at last."
"Who are you?"
"I am whoever you want me to be. Let us make love."
"Is that what you want?"
"It is my decree."
And so I took her. The dune sea had similar symbols to the symbols that appeared in the water, but of a different syntax. I was too busy to notice that the earth beneath me moved with the wind. Suddenly, as I made love to the girl the sands all around erupted upwards. A large, titan form appeared from beneath the earth. It was a creature made out of solidified sand. It wore an eternal scowl on his face. I noticed even more archaic markings that were giving me a headache. I picked up the woman beneath me and held her tightly to my arms, still penetrating her sexuality. Drawing Tap Reaver, I prepared myself to do battle against this new monstrosity. The creature stared at me and I stared at it, until everything became a blur...
