Hey everyone.
It's no secret that Althanas has been dead as of late, but this isn't the first time we've fallen into obscurity only to rise again.
Behind the scenes, Lye and I have started a Pheonix project. It's basically a group of dedicated Althanian's willing do their parts to build the site up from the ashes. We aren't planning any big system changes, but some of our ideas have already come into the fold (SSL, anyone?). If you're interested in joining, please let me know and I'll invite you to the Discord. There's no special perks for helping out at this point, but I want to maintain an active discussion.
Our current priorities right now are:
1) Finding/hiring a permanent/professional coder to clean up the site
2) Purchase a custom Althanas skin (shopping around, your donations have essentially already paid for it)
3) Passive recruitment on RPG top sites and finding affiliates
4) Completing the wiki
We're also tossing around some ideas regarding the Althanas setting. Recognizing that we're a high fantasy niche, which is cool for some, we've been considering opening the setting on Althanas. Basically, this would be "Althanas throughout time" wherein you can play at any point during our history. If you've got any cool ideas, join the Pheonix Project. Or if you just want to be an idea man, feel free to post here.
I get that we're all busy and have our own things, but I'd also like to remind you that outside of Althanas proper, we have an active Discord Chat. Many of us also play console and PC games together. If anyone wants to play a game I have together, just let me know and I'll make some time to join you. It's important that the community stay strong, even if it's not abundantly clear from the forum that we're active.
There are no plans to shut down the site and I can keep it here, but inactive perpetutally.
