Name: Beatrix. She has no surname.
Age: 24
Race: Human
Hair Color: Red-blonde
Eye Color: Blue
Height: 5'10
Weight: 155 lbs
Occupation: Various

Personality: Beatrix is a kind, though stoic, woman. She tends to remain detached from people initially to insulate herself, having been hurt in the past by the loss of her first home. That said, when she does open herself up enough to befriend someone, she is fiercely loyal, though tempered by an inability to leave her reservations or criticisms unvoiced.

Appearance: Tall and slender she stands, with her red-blonde hair nowadays kept short (about pageboy length). A nasty-looking scar cuts vertically across her right cheek, from cheekbone to jawline. She typically wears a quilted leather doublet over a linen chemise and culottes with soft leather shoes. She keeps her dagger at her hip.

History: Beatrix's family was of so little import they had no real surname, being most frequently known as "the innkeeper family" for their family trade. They resided in Treyncë until Xem'zund's rise, at which time they fled. It was during their flight across Raiaera that Beatrix's father Uther first taught her staff-fighting, the better to defend her younger siblings. Of the nine who left Treyncë, seven reached the sea, Beatrix's youngest brother and sister both falling to illness along the way. They fled from there to Scara Brae for no better reason than it was away.
In Scara Brae, they were penniless, but not helpless, and ingratiated themselves in the various hospitality business around the port. Beatrix herself now works in whatever job people need, including serving, guarding, and general labor.

Skills:
Skilled with quarterstaff. The footwork she has learned in this gives her a leg up (no pun intended) in other two-handed pole weapons, but she would still need time to familiarize herself with one before using it.

Less skilled at dagger and barehanded fighting, but understands the basic techniques and can adapt her footwork to suit this as opposed to staff-fighting.

Knowledgeable about the limits of her Wallflower Technique (see Abilities) and how to maximize what she can do within those limits.

Good practical head for numbers; can calculate prices, taxes, and change; can notice the average amateur attempting to cheat her.

Abilities:
Her training has given her strength and endurance at 1.5x the average person's level.

Wallflower Art: Clinging Feet allows her to run along walls for up to 9 consecutive steps. After this, she will fall and suffer vertigo for time roughly equal to the time she was using the Art. If she stabilizes herself before expiration, she can avoid the vertigo. Either way, though, the art must "recharge" to full before it can be re-used, which takes twice as long as the time it was used.

Wallflower Art: Clinging Feet can alternatively allow her to remain anchored in one place for up to 11 seconds, with similar consequences. Attempting to exceed this time will result in vertigo, and it always requires twice as much time to recharge before re-use.

Equipment:
-Bollock-dagger, iron blade and oak handle, 10 inches. Has her name carved on the handle in High Elven. Always with her.
-Oak quarterstaff, 7 ft in length. Usually carried when journeying from town to town, or when otherwise specifically needed.
-Coin-purse, leather with drawstring. Always carried, even when empty.

Hello there, and welcome to Althanas!

Double welcome for joining us on Althanas Day weekend!

You're character looks a great rogue-monk type who will fit in with many interesting individuals here.

All your abilities are very clearly explained and laid out. I will note that with them you still have some leeway to make them more powerful. Also your strength and endurance can easily be at 2x the average person.

Do you have any questions about Althanas in any way?

Double thanks for the double welcome! I was definitely intending on adding to her Wallflower Arts as time went on, but figured I'd have it scale with levels, maybe adding some new skills as we go, too. I'll up her abilities some. Let me know if that still works.

Hello!!

Thank you very much.

In terms of skills in Althanas they are up to you to regulate them and level them up in a logical way as you go. Levels of expert are entirely up to you.

All the abilities still work. If you don't have any questions I can go ahead and approve you.
