We've not had a chat about music recently, so let's get one going. What's everyone listening to at the moment?

I've been to a few gigs recently but last night an American band called Tyler Bryant and the Shakedown supported (and outshone, by the way) Airbourne. I had literally never heard of them until 12pm yesterday, and by 8am this morning I had downloaded their entire back catalogue.

If you like your rock, I can particularly recommend Onto the next (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CddIwB3KOH4) and Drive me mad (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spQN4kzmslo) from their latest album Truth and Lies.

On a different tangent, I can also recommend some chillout music. This one, called Standing in the Rain (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uR9_uLyWpG8), is a bit of a plug for DJ MDMK who is also the brother of our good member Sage. He's done some good stuff and his youtube channel is well worth a look if you like the above (although he has done some mad shit as well).

I'm a mom of toddlers... we listen to toddler music... there are soooo many versions of Baby Shark it's not even funny.

When I get to listen to what I like though, I just put on my Irish Rovers Pandora station

This song activates my fantasy writer mode, I play it over and over! (https://youtu.be/3JxXZt77ATA)

I've been listening to a lot of rock versions of video game themes lately.

Since I get chronic and consistent migraines, there are times I can't listen to any of my usual heavier music.

Luckily, years back. I found the perfect solutions:
The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble
The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation
Bohren und Der Club of Gore

All three are ideal, especially as background music when I start writing.

Any recommendations for specific songs?

Admittedly, I usually just throw all their albums on shuffle and leave it on for a few hours.

As far as ambient tunes go, haven't found much better.

You should tack the Diablo Swing Orchestra onto that list. They're so good!

I really like chilledcow on youtube. I'm normally in a headspace where I need to slow the fuck down.
