Celcius Mariad
03-28-2020, 04:28 PM
Name: Celcius Mariad
Race: Human
Height: 6'2”
Weight: 220lbs.
Age: 33
Occupation: Fighter/Cad

Physical Description:

Celcius has long, wild black hair which has dreadlocked in some places of its own accord. His skin is pale and his eyes are grey and devoid of pigment. His nose is regal, broad, and scarred across the bridge. He has a glowering expression that never seems to change, as if frozen. He has a powerfully muscled chest, strong arms, and hands like gauntlets. His legs are thick and well honed, and he has a firm, iconic butt, renown in every brothel in Radasanth. Celcius favors dark colors of clothing, mainly black, and has an extensive wardrobe. He chooses his outfit carefully, usually in accordance with the theme of the arena.

Personality:

The gladiator has no qualms about cheating friends and making the world an overall worse place to live, as long as there's something in it for him. His values in order of priority are: Gold, Adoration, and Battle. He hates being overshadowed and doesn't suffer others to hog the spotlight. Selfishness is a personal mantra that keeps him alive and in coin. He practices all of the vices but his favorites are lust and greed, and he can usually be found in various houses of ill repute if his services are needed.

History:

A permanent resident of the strife-worn city of Radasanth, Celcius makes a dual living as a career gladiator and as a man-at-arms. He personally butchered Concordian Rangers in recent conflicts and made a couple hundred gold in the process. Having seen his fill of close calls, namely the one that left the tell-tale scar in the center of his face, he has turned his focus to the Citadel and its regenerative magicks.

Skills:

Heavy Blade Proficiency – Celcius favors weighted blades and his favorite is the two-handed sword. He used such a blade in several military campaigns and gained a reputation for cleaving unarmored (and unskilled) opponents in half. He suffers slightly in battle without a shield to protect him, but is proficient at parrying blows, if a little slow.

”Tell the Bards!” – Busybodies, town criers, and tavern minstrels always seem to be up to date on Celcius' most recent escapades. They tend to talk about him favorably despite his personality flaws as his exploits make for captivating stories for the masses. His losses and embarrassments are forgotten quickly, and people recognize him in crowded places.

Abilities:

Mighty – Celcius is twice as strong as a normal adult human.

Hardy - Celcius has the endurance and stamina of two grown men. He can withstand twice as much punishment before succumbing to his wounds, and heals at twice the rate of a normal human

Sundering Strike – Celcius may make a single powerful attack against the equipment an opponent is using to defend. If the opponent's weapon or shield is made of a material lower than the weapon Celcius is using, and the character is weaker than him (less than 2x stronger than the average person) the item is broken. Both conditions must be met. Celcius may only make one Sundering Strike per battle, and if the attack misses or is foiled, it is wasted.

Equipment:

Steel Greatsword – This weapon is heavy and made for chopping or sweeping strikes. It is best suited for defeating an opponent in a minimal number of swings, as wielding it takes a toll on the endurance of its user.

Steel Chestplate – Not to be confused with breastplate armor, Celcius wears a thin, ornate steel plate sculpted in the likeness of the male torso's muscle anatomy. It protects his vital organs against direct attacks from the front to his center of mass. It doesn't have the deflection power of true armor, and it can be easily punctured or cleaved by steel weapons, but defends well against iron. It offers no protection to the back, hips, or other parts of the body, or against crushing hits.

Hello there!

We always like a good fighter here! Welcome to Althanas.

Could I please ask you to add more detail to your second wind? To what extent is he healed when he comes back, as it were?

Also you will need to spend some starter money to up your starting equipment to steel. Would this be okay? You would usually start with 200 gold, but I would give you 100 instead.

Good morning!

Thank you for allowing me to keep my gear as is, and starting with less money to support that is fine by me.

I had a hard time quantifying second wind, so i got rid of it entirely and reworked his 'hardy warrior" ability into two separate abilities. It now supports a mild regeneration (heals at twice the rate of a normal person).

Hope this is all suitable for level 1!

Amazing! Thank you, that helps.

You are approved! And start with a deduction in gold for your steel items!
