View Full Version : A couple questions regarding the April Vignette

First of all, let me start by saying my favorite thing to write is Vignettes. I think its the best break from writing serious stuff, and I almost exclusively enjoy writing horror which gets pretty heavy.

So as soon as the April one went up, I opened up a new document and started writing and loved the idea more and more as I wrote it. And then, when I was finished, some questions came up about what kind of content is... considered inappropriate on Althanas. Mostly in regards to language but... not exclusively.

I'd appreciate moderator and all input. I'd like to post my Vignette but I guess I hear the term "triggered" so often that I figure its just safer to check first.

Vignette's are awesome. I hope there's a good turnout this month!

EDIT:: I guess that wasn't really a question. =\

We've had people write blood mage and kitty tentacle R rated threads in the past. There are some people who don't like that stuff or are under aged, but we generally ignore it. People also put warnings in their writing about the content.

Hey there! Well, I don't really think there is much of anything deemed inappropriate when it comes to what we write. I've read everything from extremely graphic blood/gore to extremely graphic sexual type stuff, and everything in between. I've even read true stories that contain horrible things that has happened in the real world too.

I think the crew have always kept content restrictions low due to wanting us to have creative freedom to write anything we want or feel we need to in our stories. Though, sometimes the forum itself (even though content restrictions are low) will mark threads and posts as "inappropriate" if it deems content or attachments as such and tosses it in the queue awaiting moderation. It doesn't happen often, but it's a possibility. Plus, I've been known to and others have been known to throw curse words around too. I wouldn't try posting graphic porn pics, though. xD

Like Flamebird said up above, there are folks that don't want to read mature type stuff, so we make sure to label such threads/posts as "Mature" and write some sort of content warning/disclaimer in the opening post of the thread, or at the top of the post. Thanks!

This is more or less what I expected, I just wanted it on record. I don't think there will be any problems. Thank you!

As long as you put a rating (say, 'mature' etc) then everything is accepted. If there is a problem then we'll let you know. Just be sensible, be sensitive in chat and on the out of character threads.

Frankly, go nuts. Anything you write will be a million percent better than the turboposted tentacle porn shitfest of 2017-18.

I won a vignette years back with Aure chain-smoking and wanking. Pretty sure as long as it's labelled to warn the poor cutters before they read it, you're shiny.

Just put "(Rated Aur)" at the beginning of your post and go crazy. People who don't want to see It will skip it, those that don't care will read it

Ah, it fills my black little heart with pride to hear people still remember that.

Honestly, this place would not be the same without "Rated Aure" as a tagline.
