Hey everyone.
So, for a while (and in relative secrecy), I’ve been learning the wonderful world of video editing and post-production, serving as understudy to one of my clients in the creative media industry on some evenings. My keystone project has been to develop a live-action “teaser trailer†promo for Althanas. Yes, you read that correctly. Live action.
Originally, the project was going to be limited to characters that had been involved with Shinsou in recent times, and to that end I have managed to source and edit stock footage to re-create Shinsou Vaan Osiris, Storm Veritas, Felicity Rhyolite and Joshua Cronen. But then I decided I wanted to take it further.
The idea of the teaser is to promote the characters and work of the core members here. Generally, the existing scenes are short and contain a snippet of dialogue per character, but serve to bring our creations into “realityâ€. As such, I would like to know from the member base who would like their character showcasing, and whether or not people would be prepared to voice-act a line of dialogue for their character for the finished product? This also applies to existing characters (Storm, Felicity, Joshua).
Obviously there are limitations to what I can do. You have NO idea how hard it is to find footage of something even close to half of the stuff on here, and this has made it difficult to introduce characters like Philomel, for example. But, nothing is impossible, and I want to do something both original and enjoyable for the site whilst learning this new skill.
I'm going to post up a "proof of concept" a bit later, to show you all where I'm up to. The video is mostly subtitled but with no actual voice acting yet; just the accompanying audio of music and effects. I think it's as close to the source material as it can be, but I'm open to suggestions.
